We specialize in hardscape design/build installations performed for thousand of customers since 1978. They trust us, have confidence in us and know we have the experience to expertly complete the project! We can help you with complete landscape renovations or new home landscaping. We are a full service design/build construction landscape company providing services that include retaining walls, paver & natural stone patios, walkways and driveways. Fire features, outdoor kitchens, seating benches , stone columns, plantings, pool removals/pool hardscape & landscape, shoreline renovations and more! Our facility is located in Minnetonka and is staffed daily Monday through Friday to assist you. On site estimates are scheduled at your home with the owners of L&R to accurately identify your landscape needs, wants and challenges. You will receive a documented proposal that identifies various application costs and a design may be created for your review depending upon the scope and scale of the project. We have the desire, skills, knowledge, and ability to do it all. They were fabulous. Hard-working, clear, concise, helpful, and answered all of our questions. This is the second project we've done with them because the first (replacing our deck) went so well -- and we were just as happy with this project as our last one. Would definitely use them again.

This was our second time hiring L & R, and based on our first experience at a previous home years earlier, we expected -- and had -- another great experience this time. Up front, Lyle came out for multiple visits to talk through many details, desires and ideas, and produced a very nice printed design with details on all plant selections. The bid was detailed and clear. When the crew arrived, they worked hard, took great care in their work, put up with my very detail-oriented oversight, respected our property and overall did a terrific job. Lyle came out on a regular basis to check on progress and talk through any concerns or adjustments. The end result realized just about everything we had envisioned. We're so excited to enjoy our new yard and see our new plants develop and flourish over the years to come! Thanks L & R!

The team at L&R suburban landscaping exceeded all our expectations. They were on time, professional, and did an amazing job of redoing the terraces in our backyard. But the part that impressed us the most was the team themselves, and the fact that they truly went above and beyond. When part of our play structure was cracked when they moved it, they patched it without a second thought. When they were working through a heat wave, the entire landscaping team was looking out for each other, making sure they got needed breaks and water. Working with L&R not only means your landscape will look incredible, but you’re supporting a company that really looks out for their customers and employees. You don’t find that kind of company every day!

Ron and Layla were my main contacts and they were extremely easy to work with and very responsive to my questions and changes. Ron very closely supervised the project and was on site every day. He suggested adjustments based on situations that came up that would improve the project (particularly drainage issues). The entire team listened to my specific requests and were always accommodating, often helping me choose materials and locations. I did not receive multiple estimates, so cannot rate L & R to any competitors in terms of price. I could not be more pleased with the results of the project. This was a major enhancement to my property.

Ron and his group at L&R Landscaping did an excellent job with our landscaping project. Here is why we chose them for our project and why you should consider them for your project. We met with three different companies to fix a drainage issue and renovate our patio. We felt that L&R listened to what we were trying to accomplish and provided the best solution. There was good communication with the office, lead project coordinators and the workers throughout the process. They were hard working, friendly and very conscientious regarding the next-door neighbor’s yard. L & R was the most expensive quote I received. However, Lyle was the only person that asked enough questions to determine the cause of the water issues and to propose a more extensive resolution. The extra money paid was worth having the water issue resolved once and for all.

"We do review each request for services based upon the the size and scope of work desired in order to ensure that the projects we view and quote are the type of work that we excel at performing and that meet the job requirements necessary for our multi person design/build construction crews to work effectively. We do perform a variety of drainage correction work which includes grading as well as riverbeds, draintiles, swales, to remediate complicated water issues. And excavation services may also require extensive grading as a result of the activities performed. We do appreciate the opportunity to discuss and review service requests on an individual basis."

Very happy with the whole process. Owner was onsite everyday making sure everything was perfect. Designer visited site numerous times to make sure layout was done as his plan specified. All trees, shrubs and sod were very hardy. Office staff kept me posted on job schedule.

Lyle was great to work with and imagined the project exactly as it turned out. The project was complicated due to tight access and existing structures, a large hill and required a structural engineering plan. The crew led by Vidal managed it perfectly. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. They were respectful, listened, and provided extra service when asked and stayed within the timeline as planned.

L&R was fantastic to work with. When looking for someone to handle our project we received glowing reviews about L&R from several neighbors so we decided to go with them. They provided detailed plans, which we loved, even though we wanted to replace a few plantings with other types. Once the project was started the work was completed very quickly. As with any big project, there can be a few hiccups. L&R worked with us to figure out some great solutions. We really appreciated their positive attitude. And we absolutely LOVE the final outcome. We would highly recommend L&R!!!

It went great!! This was the second time we used L & R Suburban Landscaping for a major project because they are so accommodating, professional and knowledgeable. We worked with manager Lyle on both of these projects and find him to be kind, knowledgeable and straightforward in his communications. He always advised us when to expect the team and kept us aware of how the project was going. The office staff, we worked often with Layla, was also very professional and incredibly easy to work with. We would not use any other landscaping outfit because we can rely on them as caring professionals who provide superior quality work!!!

He walked through our garage to get to the patio and I said we need to replace the patio and steps. He said (mockingly) oh, I thought it would be the garage floor. Never got the work done, looking for someone to do it !!!
