I would confidently recommend Brian Rivers/Impressions Outdoor Living to anyone who wants a quality job at a competitive price.
"We are thrilled we have had the opportunity to earn yet another happy customer who found us on Angie's List. Our goal is to always exceed expectations!"
We wanted to coordinate the landscaping work with our roof replacement and Brian figured out a creative way to start his work the week before the 4th of July week (4th fell on a Wednesday) so we could have the landscaping demo work done prior to replacing our roof. Brian and his team worked through perhaps the hottest weeks of the summer and frequently worked 10-12 hour days. The few change orders we had were reasonable and either at our request or as a result of things neither of us were aware of (the soil under the concrete patio was nearly 100% clay. Brian could have easily dropped the Class 5 on top of the clay but he gave me options and recommended I approve removal of the clay and additional base material).
Once demo was complete, work progressed as agreed. Brian coordinated sprinkler system repairs/rerouting, material deliveries and everything necessary to keep the project running smoothly. We did not spec out the size of the plants and would have preferred larger/more mature plants - this was entirely our oversight. We agreed to relocate some shrubs and were disappointed these plants were removed then laid out on the yard in the hot July sun for 5 days before being replanted. Only half of these plants survived as a result.
We have been completing other major home remodeling projects since we purchased our home. Brian was the best contractor we have worked with hands down. I can't emphasize enough how involved Brian was in the project and happy we were to have one point of contact from conceptual design through completion. Brian and by extension, Impressions Outdoor Living, is the type of contractor you search High and low to find. It's great to have a venue like Angie's List for us to share our fantastic experience!
"The member approached my truck in a Starbucks parking lot and asked if I were interested in offering an alternate proposal on a patio proposal he had already received. We quickly connected and our proposal for the project moved forward. As the member mentioned, the original scope of the patio project had expanded to address grading, drainage and other aesthetic concerns on all four sides of his home. We were able to adapt quickly, which entails prioritizing while we have heavy equipment on site. Considering the many variables and challenges involving this project, upon completion, we successfully transformed a circa 1970's landscape into an inviting Outdoor Living space. We are thankful for the opportunity to offer our services and thrilled to deliver the results! We look forward to building on this relationship and providing our services for future projects. Thank you again for your business the member!"
"This project was a collaborative effort with a highly regarded garden design firm that Impressions Outdoor Living has an ongoing relationship with. We provided consultation and assisted in the hardscape design and installation suggesting a retaining wall to level out a portion of the garden and thermal top and bottom glacial boulder steps to provide access to this area. The idea was to retain and level this area in preparation for a circular flagstone patio with a possible freestanding seating wall and firepit as the next phase to enhance and complete this beautiful outdoor garden retreat. We are currently working on concepts toward this goal!"
Brain returned calls and gave us an estimate quickly, as well as offered great advice on landscape design and referrals for other services we needed (like stump grinding).
"My client contacted me through a referral in need of assistance removing decorative landscape rock so they could explore more creative opportunities. Though this is not the type of project we typically engage due to the limited scope, I am happy to have been able to help them resolve their issue and offer some helpful suggestions/referrals."
"This project involved a major drainage issue and budgetary constraints that we were able to resolve both esthetically and within budget though a phased in approach. There was approximately 8" of sand beneath an existing patio and negative grade causing water to literally pool beneath the patio and next to the foundation, ultimately penetrating the foundation walls causing interior water seepage. We resolved this issue by removing the sand base and installing new compacted base material and a new patio so water would drain off of the patio properly. Although this resolved water next to the foundation, it did not correct water now standing in the surrounding area. To resolve this issue, we installed a dry creek bed allowing excessive water to drain properly to the street and providing an esthetically pleasing element to their landscape. It was a pleasure working with this client to resolve their drainage and budgetary dilemma. I look forward to assisting them in the next phase of their project!"
