Matt and his team had a tough job with my house! It required coordinating with my roofer of choice for a week in November we were so lucky to get...70s all week! Matt's team arrived each day for work early and stayed late. It started with them tearing off a significant portion of our roof and sheathing to expose the attic open space as well as the narrow spaces in the rafters above the knee walls of our cape cod. They thoroughly vacuumed out the old insulation and just as I requested filled the vacated space with foam and cellulose. I'm already seeing a significant reduction in heating needs on like-for-like weather. His price was just as he quoted and I'm anxious to get him back out for phase 2 below the knee walls.

Not the cheapest provider, but gave the most comprehensive quote and clearly had a great deal of knowledge about how to make our home more efficient. Responsive on email and phone, completed the work on time and as promised.

Very nice and friendly, work completed quickly and workers cleaned up after themselves. Matt came to visit job and talk to me to make sure all was going well.

This was one of my best experiences with a contractor. Matt and his crew were friendly and knowledgeable, and they went beyond the scope of the job at an unbeatable price.

The hard part of the job was getting into the plumbing access to correct the insulation and compromised poly vapor barrier. This area could be accessed through the attic, but it wasn't easy. Matt's team figured a solution with a telescoping ladder, and one of the crew members spent at least 30-45 minutes in this tight, enclosed space foaming the studs, replacing the insulation, replacing the poly vapor barrier and making sure it was sealed.

Next, they installed rigid foam across the top of the access and sealed it with spray foam. They used spray foam between the access and the house framing, and they made sure this area was completely sealed, including the plumbing stack that goes through the access.

We had experienced a minor water leak with our master bath exhaust fan on a really cold February day, and upon inspection we could see that the insulating sleeve was pulled away from the fan at the bottom, exposing the metal duct where the duct meets the exhaust fan housing. Matt's team installed two foam boxes around our two bath exhaust fans and used spray foam to seal.

Inspecting the plumbing stack in another area, we could see a large gap between the sheetrock and the stack. The team sealed this.

At the end of the project, cellulose was blown in and evened out to bring the entire area back to at least R50.

I was with Matt and his team in the attic throughout the project because I wanted to watch and learn. They were great -- they were happy to answer questions, they worked hard, they took pride in their work and they were really friendly.

When I have another insulation or energy efficiency project, Green Home Doctors has earned my business. I will recommend them without hesitation to my friends for their quality of work, for the overall value they provide -- and for being really thoughtful, honest, good people who treated my house like it was their own.

Matt and his team did a great job insulating our finished attic. Very professional and extremely knowledgeable to help insulate homes and conserve energy. Really glad to know him and see good reviews - we had the same excellent experience. He also helped in the basement to foam insulate some of the areas that could use better insulation. We highly recommend him!

They were very professional. They were working with and were being trained at the time by a service provided by the county for energy efficiency. They were very good and thorough. I had a problem with water damage in the front room. I called them up and they came out on a Sunday to see if they could help us with it. They came out with one of those heat cameras to check to make sure there was no leakages that they could find.

Personable and professional team from first phone call to final work, including meeting with the inspector for permit signoff, and filling out all the energy rebate paperwork for me to mail in.

Matt and his team provided me the best contractor experience I've ever had, and I've owned homes for over 20 years.  He was professional, compassionate, well-educated and enthusiastic.  He made several suggestions, but did not try to up-sell.  I would love to use him again, but he did such a good job, I don't have the opportunity at this time.  I highly recommend the Green Home Doctors.

After getting a home energy audit through the Home Energy Squad (partnering with CenterPoint), I got 2 estimates for insulation improvements.  Green Home Doctors was not only much more reasonable in price, but they also had more modern tools through which they could identify issues to be resolved during the project.  Digital images were included in the proposal to show exactly where improvements needed to be made.  The itemized proposal and invoice made it easy to see what the project entailed.
Matt was personable and prompt and helpful and passionate about his company and industry.  Communicating through email vs phone was easy (and my preference).
All of the work proposed was performed in the timeframe specified, and it passed inspection with no issues.  GHD even created a new attic cover, which was broken before the project ever started, as a courtesy.  Really nice company.

We had a good experience with Green Home Doctors.  We received bids from them and two other contractors that were preferred contractors through the Center for Energy and Environment energy audit program.  Matt did a good job of explaining the work that needed to be done and even used an infrared camera to show pictures of areas that were in need of insulation.  The price was in the middle of the three bids we received but we felt confident in the work that Green Home Doctors would do so we were willing to pay a little more.  The project took a little less than a day and a half and the crew of two that did the work was very courteous, tidy, and professional.  They scheduled the inspection with the city for the same day they finished the work and Matt was present for the inspection which was helpful.  At times, communication was a little slow (for example, it took longer than normal to receive the estimate via email) but that was probably the only downside of working with this company.

We received an estimate within 24 hours of inquiry. A little more than we wanted to spend, but the quality is worth it.
