We have been planning to do some remodeling in our 70s home and had some cracked/peeling paint. Since we have a baby, I was worried about lead paint exposure. After trying the 3M lead check swabs and getting confusing results, we decided to go with a professional. Itwas totally worth cost and didnt cause any damage. Louis checked every permanent surface of our home. Thankfully lead was only found in our bathtub and some tiles...spots I didn’t even think of! Louis answered my many questions, and I now feel confidant in remodeling. Louis was extremely professional and knowledgeable.
Description of Work: We hired Louis to test our house built in the 1970s for lead.

I am not exaggerating. Louis is the most professional person that I have ever done business with. I completely trusted is assessment. I had a million questions for him and he was so patient with me. He never rushed me and was so thorough. I would hire Louis again in a second and would highly recommend him. Thank you Louis!

We recently bought an older house, and we decided to get the it tested for lead since we are expecting a baby. Louis was very informative and prompt when I initially called to ask about his services and schedule an appointment. The inspection was very thorough. It was also nice to be able to get everything tested without having to damage any walls. He used a portable analyzer that he pointed at each surface. Each measurement included the concentration of lead that was detected as well as the depth beneath the surface at which it was detected. I think the whole process took about 4 hours. We met him towards the end of the appointment, and he spoke to us about the hazards that he found. He had plenty of advice about how to deal with it and be safe. Afterwards, he sent us a very detailed report with with the lead measurements for each surface throughout our house. It's quite useful. Now I know which parts of the house I can safely work on without worrying about lead paint, which is especially important with a baby in the house. Overall, Louis was pleasant to deal with and was even nice enough to answer some remaining questions I had a couple of weeks after the inspection.
Description of Work: Tested all the surfaces in our house for the presence of lead.

Just great! I would recommend XRF for any job you have that might require a certified lead inspection. My wife was pregnant and with a 2 year old at home I wanted to test our bathroom for lead paint before starting a remodel. Good thing I called XRF. The paint and all materials were fine. Except the tile floor. Its often overlooked, but the adhesive, not the tile I believe actually had the lead content in it. The XRF gun provided a diagnostic readout by tested item and area. I had a company come in with a negative air machine and followed Lead Safe protocols to demo our bathroom. Peace of mind!

It went really well. We were especially concerned as we were buying an older house and we have an infant and wanted to rule out the presence of Lead as we were planning on doing some TLC to the house and after the service was completed my wife who was there forgot to take the check to pay the provider. The provider was kind enough to drive her back to the apartment though he didn't have to and collected his check. The Lead report was submitted the very next day. We were very happy with the service.
Description of Work: The provider came on time and did a thorough job for the inspection. He took his time and explained what he did.

I am very satisfied with the work that Louis did, and would highly recommend him. He was really the best guy for the job. He provided a very detailed report of all the lead sources in my home, which gave me the confidence to effectively move forward with a lead remediation project. Before having the lead inspection done I felt overwhelmed, but am now able to take a systematic approach to the removal. Thanks Louis!
Description of Work: I had lead testing done at my 130 year old home.

Our daughter's blood test showed borderline elevated lead levels, and we were eager to know how she was being exposed in our 100+ year old home. Louis returned my call for an estimate the same day. He detailed my options, answered my laundry list of questions and used layman's terms. We were waiting for follow-up test results but, based on what Louis explained to me, knew we would opt for the thorough lead inspection (versus a lead assessment) if need be. The inspection would document all the lead sources inside and outside our home using X-ray fluorescence, dust sampling, and soil sampling if there was exposed soil. We received my daughter's venous test results on a Wednesday and called Louis to ask if he would be able to perform the inspection on Friday, before the long Memorial Day weekend. He was able to accommodate us and showed up promptly at 11. He was extremely courteous and professional, and told us about the problem spots he discovered along the way, as well as our short-term and long-term options. He tested nearly 300 surfaces inside and outside our home and took 2 dust samples over a 3.5 hour period. (We had no exposed soil, so we didn't need a soil test.) He thoroughly understood the technology he was using and could explain it to the engineer in our family, which gave us added confidence that our results would be accurate. We could rest easy over the long weekend knowing how we could reduce exposure to the problem areas in our home immediately and remediate them over the long-term. As promised, Louis delivered the preliminary test when he said he would and sent the final test once the lab results had come back. This was an unexpected expense and, therefore, more than we would have wanted to pay. But given Louis' expertise, professionalism and thoroughness, the $550 charge was reasonable and fair. I would highly recommend XRF Testing Services to anyone who needed it.

I ams very happy with XRF services The provider is the company owner. He was on time, efficient, respectful and responded within 48 hours with a comprehensive report.. I highly recommend this company to anyone doing lead testing!
Description of Work: XRF did extensive lead testing in selected areas in our older home undergoing remodeling. After checking with 5 other vendors, XRF received the highest ratings on Angie's List, XRF recommended the best option and price for the services I needed. Other vendors wanted to charge us for one day of testing but we did not need this level of testing done. So I ended up with a better price and the right service for what we needed tested.

Louis came out and tested over 300 surfaces in our home with his "Xray" (not just taking surface swabs), as well as taking soil samples. He was very thorough, and shared with me where exactly he found lead (which was ONLY in our bath tub and on some enamel bricks). The report is amazingly thorough, and is certified so that it can be used with the life of the house, even after we sell it. Louis was prompt, returned calls quickly, confirmed via email, and the report was delivered on time. Highly recommended - worth the expense to save yourself time and hassle in the future.
Description of Work: We recently purchased a home built in 1970 and are hiring out some light remodel/redecorating work, and with the new EPA rulings we heard from contractors that they had to treat the house as though it had lead contamination even if it didn't appear to have any lead paint (given that we have young kids). We hired XRF to test the whole house, to save us money down the road, to save us from added expense in future remodels.
