The service went okay. There were some communication issues. I had to ask them to start working in a different part of the house but they did not do that. They never cleaned the area of the house that I had asked. Three cleaners came out and were out for a little over 2 hours. They did a good job on the areas they did clean. I was just disappointed they did not clean the areas I had asked. They also ended up having to reschedule our appointment.
Response from WHITE GLOVES CLEANING
"We are sorry the ladies did not understand your request and not finish those areas that were specified. Wondering if the area of the house not cleaned would have been over the 2 hour limit? We appreciate your feed back and any suggestions. Thank you"

This was my first experience with a house cleaning service. Three women arrived promptly with all of their cleaning supplies. The 6 hours of cleaning equaled 2 hrs of work by the three. I left the house and when I returned one of the women immediately showed me that the lid of a small ceramic jar had been broken, and she had gathered up all of the pieces. I told her it was ok (and I was later able to glue most of it back together.) I had been told in advance to remove as much as possible from surfaces so things could be cleaned properly but unfortunately I missed that item!

There were little things that I was disappointed with. I had noticed a splotch on my kitchen floor that morning and figured the floor would be washed so it didn't matter. When I got home the spot was still there. The tops of the window sashes were dusty and there was still some dust on other floors. In the kitchen my stove was spotless, my tub and shower were shinier than I'd ever seen, and the cobwebs were cleaned from the corners of the ceilings. (Yay!!)

All in all, a mixed bag. It was nice to know that someone else had done the cleaning that I hate to do, but I also realized that I did a lot of work just de-cluttering. And actually, I think that made the biggest difference.

I'm glad I gave it a try but I don't think I would do this again. It was a lot of money for me and I just don't think I got a good value.

Response from WHITE GLOVES CLEANING
"[Member name removed] - We are sorry for the bad experience and wished you had call us within a reasonable time so we could have send the ladies back to touch up these areas. Please feel free to contact us to compensate you for the jar lid - it is our policy to replace broken or damaged items. Yes the ladies should have been there for 2 hours ( 2 hours x 3 cleaners = 6 hours of cleaning) we apologize for any misunderstanding about the time . Thank you for bring these issues to our attention. White Gloves Cleaning"

I purchased this service through an Angie's List special. It was the first time I've ever hired house cleaners. Initially they didn't have an opening on my first choice of date, but because of a cancellation they we're able to move it to my preferred date. The cleaning crew was actually a little early. The did a thorough job. What a joy to have a clean house at least until the kids came home.

Same as above -- Have used them for years.  It's always a good day when they have cleaned.  They work with my requests -- e.g., focus on a particular item or room as necessary, come on a different day (when possible), etc.

They are pretty good and I don't have any complaints. I have used them about a year and they have really good customer service. I think their prices are pretty reasonable and I will use them again in the future.

They are so punctual that you can set your watch by them. They are pleasant and friendly. I trust them with the keys to my house. I trust them with my belongings. They are a very hardworking crew and I have the same people all the time. They always return your phone calls. They take the initiative and tell you if they see that something is not working or broken and you don't discover things after they have left your home. They actually get down on their hands and knees and wash the floors, and we have all hardwood floor. They are so thorough that it is amazing. They are absolutely outstanding and I have referred them to 5-6 people without any hesitation.

I have been a customer of White Gloves Cleaning since 1997.  They usually use teams of two or three cleaners, and this shortens their time in the house, which I appreciate because I am home a lot.  The owners have always worked with me to change my cleaning dates if necessary, and on the rare occasions when they ask me to change a date, I am more than happy to reciprocate.   I have a small house and I only ask them to clean 1 bedroom out of 3, because the others are too messy.  They assign a price according to how big your house is.  They will not come in and clean if there is too much stuff on the floor to pick up.  I have had 2 occasions (in 14 years) where the team has broken something of mine that was valuable to me, and both times they didn't leave me a note and I had to come home to the broken pieces without warning.  Both times they broke objects that were valuable to me, but mostly in a sentimental way, and I didn't ask them to compensate me for them.  However, the owners were very apologetic and if I had stated a number I'm sure they would have given it to me.  I have been with them for so long, and have been so satisfied, that I chalked up the breakage to the regular hazard of having your house cleaned by someone else.   Some teams are better than others, although all are very acceptable, and if you like the work of your team, you should feel free to call and ask that they use them for you in the future.  I highly recommend  this company.

We hired White Gloves to clean our 2 bedroom condo on a monthly basis. The first visit they made, the cleaning was fine, but they spilled some contents of the laundry room trash into our cats' water dish (which is near the trash), causing the cats to get sick on the carpet. We gave them the benefit of the doubt, as they may not have seen the lint in the in dish. We did, however, make a point to mention to the management that the incident had occurred. They did not respond to our message. Prior to a subsequent visit, we made a point to call management to remind them of our the issue, and ask that they take special care to see that neither cat was in one of the carpeted rooms when they were done cleaning, so as to ensure no messes. We even went so far as to give descriptions of the cats, all TWO of them, and their favorite hiding places. Management assured us that our request would be honored. Instead we came home to two terrified cats, one of whom had been locked in one of the carpeted rooms all day (9am to 5pm) and had urinated and deficated multiple times. Precisely the opposite of our intent. When we called White Gloves to tell them of what had transpired, and to cancel future appointments, they did not apologize, or offer to make amends. On top of all that, they didn't even clean the kitchen table, but merely moved the magazines around.

I have used them for about three years. They do an excellent job. They are very thorough. They are very professional. When they come we are usually not home, I am glad that I can feel secure in leaving my belongings in my home. I think that they are worth what we spend for them. I like that they bring their own supplies, so I don't have to worry about keeping my supply stocked for them. We are a very cluttered family and have had a couple of home remodeling jobs done while they have worked for us and they have always handled that with complete professionalism.

I used this service for a year or longer. They did an adequate job but I had several concerns. The cleaning women changed frequently and not all of them were comfortable with the dogs which caused me concern when I was not in the house - a minor issue, but important to me. On one occasion the women closed the basement door, locking one of the dogs there while the other dog fretted and caused some issues in the main house. Obviously a mistake, but a problem nonetheless. More important is that I asked to have the garbage taken to the garbage can rather than be left in the kitchen - especially considering that the dogs would be tempted to tear it open. The last time I used them the garbage had been left outside, the dogs did get into it and garbage was left all over the back of the house. I called and asked them to return and clean it up - they did - and I discontinued the service (this was in June 08). Another issue concerned the lack of deep cleaning - it was all very surface and often I found sticky or dirty messes on either a table or floor that were not cleaned up. I did actually witness once that the women were running rags on the floor on their knees and not really cleaning the floors. It concerns me that the women were not properly supervised, that the so called scrubbing on their knees was more for show and a terrible and completely unnecessary injustice to these women's physical well-being that wasn't producing results anyway. I should also note that despite my complaints at no time during this entire process did anyone from management EVER call to see if things had improved. (Though I should note that they offered to give me a free cleaning - I agreed to 50%) I do want to emphasize that I felt this was more an issue with the management than with the women. My sense of it all is that the women were doing what they were told to do and not given adequate training or supervision.

Having used a number of cleaning services over the years, White Gloves is a good solid company. We get the same cleaning crew every two weeks and they are prompt and efficient. Getting an estimate was painless and they have openings in the schedule that worked for our family. Sometimes the quality of the cleaning varies a little, but the company takes the feedback and either takes action of fixing it (e.g. re-clean) or to credit your account for the portion of work not done or not done properly.

White Gloves does a great job of cleaning. The best part of their service is that they can usually set a time that they will be at my house and will be there on time. (I have used other cleaning services in the past that will just say "we'll be there in the afternoon" and force me to stay home all afternoon waiting for them to show up.) Also, the cleaners that show up are always polite and nice to deal with.

David was very pleasant and prompt. He came to the house, gave me an estimate and, when asked, said he could get me into his schedule the following week. I have to admit, it was nice to come home from work the following Wednesday to a "clean" house, but I'm not quite sold yet and might look for some comparisons.

They did excellent work. I got home before they had finished so was able to see how they worked, which was thorough and efficient. They clearly moved furniture, got under the pieces that were too heavy, cleaned heating vents, and went the extra mile.

White Gloves did come out and clean my home on April 4, basically satisfactorily, but while doing so, two large and fairly deep scratches were made in my wooden living room floor. When I called and complained, David and Kathy were very nice and did come out to attempt to oil and buff out the scratches, but it didn't work. They said they would find someone to come out and address the scratches on April 25th when their cleaners were coming out for my second White Gloves housecleaning. Apparently they didn't send anyone to take care of the scratch at that time. When I called them a couple of weeks later, they said they were still trying to find someone to take care of it. It's now May 22 and I'm still waiting.
Response from WHITE GLOVES CLEANING
"WE DID GO OUT TO THE CLIENT'S HOME AND EXAMINE THE SCRATCH IN THE LIVING ROOM FLOOR. AS WE HAD NOT BEEN OUT TO LOOK AT THE HOUSE BEFORE WE STARTED THE CLEANING PROCESS, WE COULD ONLY ASSUME THAT OUR CLEANERS HAD INDEED MOVED A TABLE AND SCRATCHED THE FLOOR. WE ACKNOWLEDGED RESPONSIBILITY AND SAID THAT WE WOULD ATTEMPT TO FIND SOMEONE TO REPAIR IT. DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT WAS NOT OUR HOUSE WE HAD TROUBLE SCHEDULING SOMEONE TO COME OUT AND LOOK AT IT. THE CLIENT THEN E-MAILED US WITH A REPAIR PERSON AND WE ASKED HER TO SCHEDULE AN ESTIMATE AND THEN WE WOULD PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. WE HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM THE CLIENT. WE HAVE HOWEVER ACKNOWLEDGED ALL ALONG THAT WE WOULD PAY TO HAVE THE FLOOR REPAIRED. AS FAR AS WE ARE CONCERNED THAT IS NOT AN ISSUE, WE ARE JUST WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO GET BACK TO US WITH THE COST."
