Banking/Credit Unions
Wells Fargo was the most incompetant, mismanaged bank I have ever dealt with. - When setting up an account, their computer program will only allow the names of three beneficiaries. Any additional beneficiaries have to be noted in a different file. When the CD accounts renew, the additional beneficiary names are lost. - At maturity of CDs, if any changes are desired, the CDs are closed out and new CDs are opened, requiring a lot of extra time and extra paper work. - Any customer that has a large account at Wells Fargo will receive phone calls from the Wells Fargo Investment Group approximately every 30 days. Telling them you are not interested or telling them to stop calling is to no avail. - Upon the death of my parents, our estate lawyer mailed Wells Fargo the death certificate(s), updated benificiary list, and the official Probate statement appointing me Personal Representative of the estate. Wells Fargo lost all of the paper work. Instead, Wells Fargo required each benificiary to provide a signed notarized letter declaring their right to inherit the funds. Goodbye Wells Fargo... FOREVER

Banking/Credit Unions
They're pretty good at extracting money from their customers. The final straw was the morning that I woke up to find that an ACH payment to Capital One had been posted in the wee hours of the morning with the prior day as the effective date and a nice $35 overdraft fee attached. Even after pointing out that they dated it before I'd even submitted it at Capital One's site, the fee remains. They also charge $12 to use overdraft protection $15 to have an account, another $15 on top of that to use QuickBooks with it. In all, my bank fees are eating up money almost as fast as I deposit it. My advice for others: stay as far away as possible.

They are friendly. I affiliate people who know what they’re talking about.

We worked with the same lady each time, so we knew her. She did the mortgage work for us twice and we liked her. Their mortgages are dealt separately from the bank. You go to a different place and work with different people. They're all under Wells Fargo, but it's not the same business.

Don't use Wells Fargo as your banker or you will be very sorry.

In March of 2006, Wells Fargo Bank sent me a debit card for the very checking account that I was removed from in 2002. I immediately took the card into the Wells Fargo branch in the IDS center downtown Minneapolis. I was told due to the nature of my problem, I would have to come back on the next business day to meet with the branch manager who was not available the afternoon that I was there. I left angry and concerned that I had all along been connected with the account. I was furious that another banker could not have helped me when I was there to solve the problem. The next day I had limited time, so I called and spoke to the branch manager who assured me my getting that debit card was a fluke and that I should destroy it. I inisisted on a written letter stating that I was no longer connected with the account, which I did eventually get. I found Wells Fargo service to be sub-standard, their business practices shoddy, and the fact that they dismiss such glitches deplorable.

JEFF SHORE AT THE DOWNTOWN BRANCH AND HIS ASSISTANT JEN ARE GREAT! WE FIRST WORKED WITH THEM IN SPRING 2000 WHEN WE MOVED TO MN. THEY HANDLED OUR MORTGAGE WITH PROFESSIONALISM AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL. TWO YEARS LATER WE REFINANCED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF LOWER INTEREST RATES AND REC'D THE SAME GREAT SERVICE. NOW WE'VE BOUGHT A NEW HOUSE AND AGAIN JEFF AND JEN WERE GREAT. IT WAS A LONG PROCESS AND JEFF WROTE MANY APPROVAL LETTERS AS WE SPENT OVER TWO YEARS SEARCHING FOR JUST THE RIGHT HOME. ONCE WE FOUND IT, HE WORKED WITH US TO MAKE SURE WE HAD THE RIGHT FINANCING IN PLACE TO PUT IN AN OFFER EVEN THOUGH WE HAD NOT YET SOLD OUR HOME. ALL THE DETAILS WERE COVERED AND CLOSING WENT OFF WITHOUT A HITCH. IT IS WONDERFUL TO WORK WITH SOMEONE WHOM YOU CAN RELY ON COMPLETELY WITHOUT HAVING TO CONSTANTLY CHECK IN ON. WE WOULD RECOMMEND JEFF TO ANYONE CONSIDERING A REFI OR NEW MORTGAGE. HE WAS EVEN ABLE TO MATCH A LOWER RATE WE WERE OFFERED BY ANOTHER COMPANY. IF A+ WAS AN OPTION, THEY WOULD GET IT!
