Vineland Tree Care

When they first looked at the tree (for free, they came over from my neighbor's house where they were doing some work to give me a quick opinion), they suggested that I should removed some dirt to see if there was a root binding issue, as the bulge at the base of the tree indicates. I wasn't confident doing it myself (I am now, after seeing it done), so they came over at another time show me how to do it. They also advised me about a lilac bush I was worried about. They cut back some old branches that were dying. I asked a lot of questions and learned a lot from the experience.

Seamus was very responsive to our request for a quote. They work in the neighborhood and we liked their customer service. The tree went down quickly, they communicated the whole process to us. They were very careful about everything surrounding the tree as it was in a difficult place.

The guys arrived very promptly the scheduled day. It was supposed to snow later in the afternoon, so they were good to get going. Very polite and asked questions on some limbs to remove. Cleaned up very well around the chipper on the street. The neighbors saw their work in our yard and had them remove a branch from their front yard while at our place.

Overall, I was very disappointed- poor communication seemed to be the problem. When I first contacted Vineland, Jim came out to my house and arranged to have the broken branch removed as soon as possible. At that time, we discussed additional work involving trimming 4 oak trees to remove dead branches and suckers, and try to open the tree canopy to reduce shading on my front lawn and flower bed. After a detailed examination of the trees, I got a verbal estimate from Jim of around $1000. Jim said he preferred to wait until mid-winter to do the work, and asked me to contact him at that time to schedule it. When I did contact Jim, he said he would need to come out again to reevaluate the work site. I'm not sure why- we had gone over it in detail, and he had mapped the trees and outlined the work on a form he left with me after the first visit. After he arrived and looked at the trees again, he gave me a written estimate that doubled his previous price, then left without a setting a firm schedule to do the work. This increased estimate even omitted the canopy thinning we had discussed at length, which would have involved removal of 2 large branches from a single tree (each of which was larger that the branch that had cost $273 to remove on our first interaction), so it wasn't clear why I would get much less work done for nearly double the price. I had been very diligent about taking notes to accurately record our meetings, but when I informed him that according to my records his new estimate did not match his previous one- and he was also proposing to do even less work- he said that he did not have any records or notes about our first on-site meeting, and he could not possibly do the work for $1000. I was surprised because he had said it would probably take half a day to do the work. I know that tree trimming is dangerous work and requires expertise and knowledge, but his estimate seemed exorbitant based on reports I read of similar work on Angie's List. I could not go forward with Vineland because I did not think that Jim had asked a fair and reasonable price for their services. I will say that Jim was very polite and pleasant, and I would have been happy to hire him if he would not have upped the price to an unreasonable level. Maybe I will become a tree trimmer- $4000 per day would definitely be enough to put food on my family.

Were very attentive to details when quoting the work to be done. I was present while the work was in progress and they checked with me to see how I would like branches over our deck trimmed-an area that I wanted done a specific way. Very nice folks that do good work.

It went great. We had worked previously with Treehugger Tree Care, a company that does not work on city trees. Vineland assured me that they were licensed, and sent a license with their detailed estimate. They came to do the tree trimming almost instantly. Although it was a bit expensive, the tree looks a lot better and there is more light and space for my landscaping.

Jim came out right away and wrote up the bid even though I wasn't home. He and his son came back again to re-bid the trees because I decided to have them removed instead of trimmed and they were very informative and explained exactly what they would do. They made an appointment with me and made sure it worked with my schedule and showed up on time and the crew was very nice and friendly and did a great job. Connor was very nice and answered all my questions and explained things to me.

When he came to give me an estimate, he answered all my questions very clearly. I also mentioned some volunteer trees growing on the side of the house that he said they would trim at no cost. Within a week I came home and found the trees very nicely trimmed... They look great! In fact when I first got home, I didn't really notice that the work was done because everything was cleaned up so well. But I did notice that the volunteers were still there so I called the next day. I said that if they were still able to do that I would really appreciate it, but as it was a no cost item, I wasn't expecting them to make it a priority. They came to trim those within a day so that was very nice and unexpected.

They did a great job! They came while I was out of town and completed the work. I did have some trouble getting an invoice - I had to request one and then they sent me one even after I paid.

The owner was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and easy to deal with. I will probably use their service in the future.

Did not use this company. Received a much lower bid with a company that did an excellent job.

Easy. Prompt, attentive, professional, complete clean-up. Mentioned a picky neighbor and they made a point of not allowing clippings to cross the property line.

Seamus was polite and professional. Since our job was a small one, he fit us in between appointments when he could get a chance, rather than waiting 3 weeks to get an official appointment. They did great work.

Seamus came out to discuss the work the day after I contacted him. He explained what he recommended be done for each tree, and why. After we decided to proceed with the work, he was able to schedule us within a few days. The crew arrived on time, and did a thorough job. Cleanup was excellent.

Other than a little problem with getting back to me to schedule a time for the work, they were excellent. Very knowledgeable about tree issues. Offered helpful suggestions to avoid having to remove sick tree.

It goes very well overall. We didn't use them to do the bush removal since we got lower quote for the bush removal from other company.

Very professional and good communication skill. Our neighbor foolishly wanted the offending lateral branches trimmed at the property line, rather at the trunk, and disregarded the professional advice of the arborist. As it was his tree and his property, his wishes were granted, though Vineland called me afterward excusing what they regarded as a botched job. I told them not to sweat it, as the neighbor was satisfied and a nuisance was removed. It is to Vineland's credit, I thought, that they excused themselves for the final result anyway.

They did a great job removing the tree. They were very polite and professional. The price was reasonable. They were quick to respond to giving the estimate. They were the only on that could do that type of tree removal because the job was so big. I would use them in the future.

I called Vineland Tree Care on a Friday and asked if they would take a look at a tree that I was concerned about. It was oozing and had ants crawling around on it. They told me they would have someone would assess the following Monday and they would leave a bill in the door. I didn't see the bill and called them back the following Thursday. One of the guys called me right back and said he was in the neighborhood and could give it a quick inspection but didn't feel like it sounded like it was any cause for concern. He said it would be $45 for the assessment which I was perfectly happy to pay. He said he would call me back after looking at the tree. He never called me back.

They were great. The service was excellent. They showed up on time and got the job done in a timely manner. They did better than I thought they would.

On 7-17 Stephanie e-mailed me their estimate, which was very professional looking. It was considerably higher than the company I decided to go with, but I would consider using Vineland in the future.

The appointment for the estimate and the time needed for the actual service were just as we were told it would be. The work was done professionally and skillfully. A trainee was present with the crew and it was apparent that attention to detail and safety were of great concern. They were appropriately staffed for the job.The only glitch was that the person who did stump-grinding showed up a day late. Vinland disposed of our fallen branches from over the winter at no extra charge. Our yard was left in good condition and they avoided damaging some existing garden areas. We recommend these very helpful and professional people.

I was really happy with them. They showed up on time and cleaned up after themselves. You couldn't even tell they had been here! They were very friendly. They left me a quote on removing another tree that I had asked about. I appreciated how responsive they were to my request.

It went very well, we were concerned because the tree was so close to the garage. We had several estimates some as high as double the amount Vineland was giving us.

They are very professional, this is the best tree service I have ever used! They are very responsive to your needs, and are very clean and neat. They are a family owned business. I would recommend them highly to everyone.
