Viens Lawn & Snow Service

The service is okay but they are unresponsive, it takes several days before they return your call and then also the owner is not helpful. Invariably I will leave multiple messages for a request and it may take them weeks to respond.

Lawn service was great! Attempted 3 times to have them trim bushes and it never happened, due to their lack of response. Snow removal was like pulling teeth to get them to shovel sidewalk to the street. After shoveling back steps, I had to remove the snow they left on the edge of the steps so it wouldn't turn to ice and make the stairs slippery.

I really like them. They are very good. I used them in my prior house. I'm going to use them in my house now this summer. He doesn't live close enough to me for the snow removal now. They have like monthly packages. 

They typically have 2 people per visit. They just came out and did the work, I didn't have much personal contact with them. Very punctual and quality of the work. Did a good job and on time.

They set up a pre-pay system which is inflexible to weather conditions. They mowed when requested not to mow. Needed extra work done and was given excuses. Too expensive for snowplowing. Steve Veins is totally insensitive to customer needs.

Great, will use Viens again.  Nice guys and great work.
The bushes had been there for about 40 years and where a mess.  They pulled them out, leveled the burm, ringed and mulched around 2 tress and laid the sod.  They did a great job of cleaning up when they were done too.,

They mowed an area 75 by 150 feet minus the area by the attached garage. The grass clippings are blown off the drive way and side walks. They did a good job. I would tell family and friends that they do a good job.

The owner is very responsive to our requests for particular work and the message gets passed on to the crew that is assigned to your house.  They are a full service company that does fertilization, trimming of bushes, and other yard work.  This our third year we've had them. They also plow snow in winter (also our third year with the and shoveled off our roof this past winter.

Steve came out and provided bid. Reviewed with me what I wanted done and made suggestions that were a big help. Set a date for work to begin and everything went according to plan. Steve kept me informed of any changes prior to start date.

Steve and the crew arrived on time and were professional, fast and experienced. The shrubs selected were perfect and the new patio block install was just what I wanted. The lawn, after the sod placement, never looked better. This was a messy job, but the clean up was complete. I will definitely call Steve again in the spring, as I have more projects that need his expert attention.

I used them for the first time this year for snow removal and it has been an awful experience.  I won't use them again.  They don't fully shovel the walks, just cut a path with a snowblower down the center or blow snow to side.  I've spent more time cleaning up after them than I think used to just clearing the walks myself.
The first time they were here in December, they failed to clear the walk from the back door to the front and I had to call them.  They did come back and make amends, but with subsequent snowfalls it has just been less of a hassle to clean things up myself.
They say they will come within 24 hours of a snowfall, and that's just about when they come.  I work and need to get out of the house in the morning, so it does me no good to have them come at 7:00 the night after a snowfall the previous evening.  Several times this year, I went ahead and cleared the snow myself, because they hadn't shown up.  They came later and I suspect were surprised to see that the snow had already been cleared.
I just took the garbage out and noticed that one of the walkways was still full of snow.  I would call them in the morning to ask that they come back to finish the job, but I don't have the time to wait around for them, and I'm fed up with their lousy performance  Once again, I'll do it myself before I go to work in the morning.
I used this service because my mother had used them in the past and thought they did a good job.  She herself is completely disgruntled with the lousy service this year and will not be asking them back.

Excellent Company and very responsive.    Because of the very heavy snow last year, I made a special request for them to clean our deck off.  At that point, it had about three or four feet of snow stacked up on it.  It is a large deck about 20 feet by 15 feet or so.  I thought the extra charge for this was quite reasonable given all the work involved. They had to bring in a multiple stage heavy duty snow blower to clear it.

One additional point.   Our neighbor now uses Viens too.    They asked us who did our yard and snow service.

They seldom mowed my back yard. I have a lot of dead grass there so it doesn't need much mowing, but their estimate was for the entire yard, and where the grass is growing there, they haven't cut it in weeks. Also, the weed and feed treatment did not work; when pressed, they said that there really wasn't much weed killer in it.

We are very pleased with the quality of work. The crew shows up every week and our yard looks better than it ever has because they don't cut the grass too short like my kids used to do! The were very accommodating in changing the schedule one week for our graduation party.

AFTER USING THE COMPANY FOR TWO MONTHS SO FAR, I HAVE BEEN VERY HAPPY WITH THEIR SERVICE: ALWAYS SHOW UP ON THE APPOINTED DAY, CUTS GRASS WELL AND PAYS CAREFUL ATTENTION TO EDGING WORK. I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A GATE BEING LEFT OPEN, OR A GUTTER THAT WAS NOT REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE OWNER RECTIFIED THAT QUICKLY AND PROFESSIONALLY. AFTER DEALING WITH TWO OTHER SMALLER COMPANIES THE PAST TWO YEARS, I AM PLEASED WITH VEINS. MY NEIGHBOR AND I POOLED OUR RESOURCES IN FINDING A LAWN SERVICE COMPANY, AND OF THOSE WE LOOKED AT, THE PRICE WAS COMPETITIVE.

THEY WERE GREAT. THEY CAME OUT WHEN THERE WAS A LITTLE SNOW AND A LOT. THE WORK WAS ALWAYS DONE BEFORE I GOT HOME FROM WORK.
