STANDARD MISSED OUR FIRST APPOINTMENT (SCHEDULING ERROR). THE ACTUAL INSTALLATION SEEMED TO GO SMOOTHLY. HOWEVER, SEVERAL PROBLEMS OCCURRED. THEY CHIPPED PAINT ON THE STAIRWELL (AND DIDN''T MENTION IT TO US). IT TOOK TWO OTHER SERVICE CALLS TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. THE SALESMAN SOLD US A NON-PROGRAMMABLE THERMOSAT, WHICH IS RIDICULOUS (BUT HE GAVE US A GOOD SALES PITCH, OBVIOUSLY). THEY DID REPLACE IT WITH A PROGRAMMABLE ONE, THOUGH. IT TOOK 2 VISITS TO HAVE THEM REPAIR OUR WATER FILTER, WHICH LEAKED DUE TO INSTALLATION OF THE NEW FURNACE. THE HUMIDIFIER WAS NOT HOOKED UP PROPERLY SO THEY HAD TO COME BACK TO FIX IT. THE REPAIR WOMAN IS VERY NICE, BUT I HAVE SEEN HER WAY TOO MANY TIMES FOR A NEW FURNACE AND AIR CONDITIONER. HAVE HAD TOO MANY SERVICE CALLS TO RECOMMEND THEM.

TECHNICIAN WAS ABLE TO DO THE WORK THE SAME WEEK THAT I CALLED. HE WAS PROMPT. HE GAVE GOOD ADVICE ABOUT A NOISE I''D BEEN HEARING, I.E. WHAT IT MIGHT BE AND WHERE I COULD GET A REPLACEMENT PART.

MY SALES PERSON WAS GREAT! I WAS PREPARED TO BUY A 94 EFFICIENT FURNACE AND HE SUGGESTED AN 80 BECAUSE THE COST SAVINGS OF 96 EFFICIENT UNIT WAS NOT ENOUGH TO JUSTIFY SPENDING THE EXTRA MONEY. THAT IMPRESSED ME BECAUSE HE DID NOT TRY AND SELL ME THE MOST EXPENSIVE UNIT. RATHER HE SUGGESTED THE BEST PRODUCT FOR MY SITUATION. I WAS ALSO PREPARED TO REPLACE MY HUMIDIFIER, AND HE SUGGESTED AGAINST IT SINCE IT WAS A RELATIVELY NEW UNIT AND WORKED FINE. I HAVE NEVER BOUGHT A FURNACE AND AC BEFORE AND HE WAS VERY PATIENT AND UNDERSTANDING OF ALL OF MY QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS. I WOULD DEFINITELY USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

I AM UNCERTAIN ABOUT THIS COMPANY. I HAD THEM INSTALL A NEW AC AND THAT DAY, MY FURNACE BROKE. IT WAS LESS THAN 10 YEARS OLD. ALTHOUGH I WAS UPSET AND SOMEWHAT SUSPICIOUS, I WENT WITH STANDARD AGAIN BECAUSE THEY COULD INSTALL THE NEW FURNACE QUICKER THAN OTHER COMPANIES AND I NEEDED THE NEW BLOWER SO THE AC WOULD WORK. UNFORTUNATELY THE NEW FURNACE IS TOO POWERFUL FOR MY DUCTWORK. THE SALESMAN WAS VERY NICE BUT HE UNDERESTIMATED THE # OF AIR RETURNS. THE RETURNS NOW SCREAM LIKE A DISTANT FREIGHT TRAIN. HE FELT BAD ABOUT THAT AND TOLD ME IT WOULD BE (I THINK) 200 TO ADD ANOTHER RETURN AND 200 TO 300 MORE FOR A DAMPER TO QUIET THE NOISE. I AM LEARNING TO LIVE WITH THE NOISE.

I WROTE TO STANDARD ABOUT MY DISAPPOINTMENT WITH HOW I HAD BEEN CHARGED AND ASKED FOR A REFUND FOR THE REPAIR FEE SINCE THE REPAIR HAD BEEN MADE WHILE GIVING AN ESTIMATE. THEY RESPONDED IMMEDIATELY AND AGREED TO MY REQUEST WITHOUT DISCUSSION. INITIALLY I DID NOT GIVE THEM A'S ACROSS THE BOARD BUT I AM NOW AMENDING MY GRADES FOR PRICE AND OVERALL SATISFACTION TO GIVE THEM ALL A'S.

WE JUST MOVED TO THIS HOUSE AND I JUST WANTED TO HAVE THE MECHANICAL CHECKED OUT. HE SAID EVERYTHING LOOK FINE. HE TUNED THE AC UP. THEY WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND TOOK THE TIME TO EXPLAIN AND EDUCATE ME ON WHAT HE WAS DOING. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM.

THE FINAL OUTCOME WAS VERY GOOD, THE TIMING OF THINGS WAS VERY FRUSTRATING. I WAS TOLD THE WRONG ARRIVAL TIME FOR THE INSTALLER SO I WORKED FROM HOME IN 90 DEGREE HEAT AND REARRANGED MEETINGS UNTIL HE ARRIVED SEVERAL HOURS LATER. ADDITIONALLY, I WAS TOLD THAT MY AC WOULD BE INSTALLED IN ONE DAY BUT IT WASN''T OPERATIONAL UNTIL A DAY LATER WHEN THE ELECTRICIAN COMPLETED HIS WORK. THE SALES REP DID PROMPTLY APOLOGIZE FOR THE TIMING ISSUE AND WAS VERY GOOD AT EXPLAINING PRODUCT OPTIONS UP FRONT. I DO APPRECIATE THE CO. FITTING ME IN QUICKLY DURING A VERY BUSY TIME. BIG JOHN, THE INSTALLER, WAS FRIENDLY AND QUICK. AC HAS BEEN WORKING GREAT AND THE COMPANY SUBMITTED ALL THE REBATE PAPERWORK.

THE SALESMAN CONVINCED US TO GET AN 80 EFFICIENT FURNACE INSTEAD OF A 94 ONE--I AM AFRAID IN PART BECAUSE THE INSTALLATION WORK IS DONE FOR A FIXED RATE AND INSTALLING THE BETTER FURNACE WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN LESS PROFITS FOR THEM. HOWEVER, FOR US THE 80 FURNACE WAS AFFORDABLE AND RESULTED IN NO NEW DUCTWORK IN THE FINISHABLE PART OF OUR BASEMENT. THE WORKERS WERE CLEAN, AND COMPLETED THE WORK FASTER THAN EXPECTED. AND, I TRUST THE COMPANY TO STAND BY THEIR PRODUCTS. ONE MONTH LATER A HEATING INSPECTOR FOUND A HOLE IN DUCTWORK THEY DID NOT PATCH. THEY WERE VERY SLOW TO RESPOND FOR THIS REPAIR. I LOST A/C THROUGH THE HOLE.

THEY DID NOT EVEN CHARGE ME ANYTHING, WE HAD COTTON WEEDS STUCK IN THE FILTER, THEY CLEANED THIS OUT AND I WAS VERY IMPRESSED THEY DIDN'T CHARGE BECAUSE IT WAS STILL ON HER TIME.

THESE GUYS WERE GREAT! THE INSTALLER WAS PROMPT, CONSIDERATE AND HELPFUL AND DID A BEAUTIFUL INSTALLATION JOB. THE COMPANY WAS VERY RESPONSIVE TO OUR REMODELING NEEDS AND SEEMED GENUINELY INTERESTED IN GETTING US THE BEST PRODUCT FOR OUR NEEDS. OVERALL PRICE WAS SOMEWHAT HIGHER THAT OTHER BIDS, BUT WE WERE TOLD UP FRONT THAT THERE WOULD BE NO HIDDEN COSTS AND THERE WEREN''T! WELL WORTH IT FOR THE PEACE OF MIND THAT GOES WITH HIRING A TRUSTED CONTRACTOR.
