She told me it would only cost $65.00 for a highlights and all over color!   WRONG!  With the hair cut, (which was really just a trim, not style) and highlights and all over color was $320.00!!  With out a tip!  I was shocked.  She said she put in more highlights and low lights in than she thought, and she has to add toner to my hair to get the color right.
Very disappointed.....I would not go back unless someone I know has used and liked another stylist.

Spalon Montage was very clean, however I was expecting more of a spa type experience along with the pedicure. Instead, I was a little disappointed in the lack of enthusiasm of the staff and their engagement with the clients.

Will probably go back. I already have two favorite hair stylists but the

young lady who cut mine did a wonderful job. It's hard to find good stylists.

I think Spalon Montage has a great program and worth the cost of there

services.

I go there because they are convenient; about 3 blocks from my house. The customer service is very nice. They are expensive but the quality is good. Sometimes it is hard to get an appointment but you do not have to wait if you have an appointment. They are professional but environment is sissy.

Prior to tonight, I was a long term client of Spalon Montage in Edina (10+ years). Over the years I've rode the waves of technicians coming and leaving. Everytime my hair technician left, the management did a more than sufficient job of recommending a new hair technician that would do a very nice job with my hair.  They cared about my experience and my level of satisfaction with the services they provide. I did not mind paying extra dollars for that level of service. Over the past 1 1/2 years, I have experienced a repeated lack of respect for my time and needs as a customer. If a salon purports to be the best in the business, than ultimate customer service would rightfully be expected. As of late, Spalon Montage falls short and in my opinion is no longer meeting the level of class and elegance that it did at one time.  In short, here are the consecutive problems that I've experienced. All were separate appointments: 1. Front desk, admittedly due to their own error, scheduled me with the wrong technician, so when I showed up for the appointment I had to reschedule. 2. Front desk called and cancelled my appointment, because the technician didn't have time to take me. They offered 25% off services if I rescheduled, which I did. 3. Front desk called and cancelled my appointment because the same technician didn't have time to take me. After I protested, they offered to keep the appointment if I was willing to see another senior technician at the same cost. I declined. Then they offered 25% off services if I decided to reschedule. I said I would think about it. I had an event to attend and had to find quick alternatives to be presentable, which was a major inconvenience. 4. A few months later, I scheduled with my technician again. Upon arriving for the appointment, I learned that my session would be observed by an apprentice technician. No one asked me if being watched would be alright with me. Not only that, the apprentice shampooed me and did poorly. Needless to say, this was not the relaxing and enjoyable experience that I expected it to be. 5. Tonight - I was on my way to the salon stuck in traffic due to the rain and road conditions. I had plenty of time to get there on time, but realized quickly that I would probably be late due to the traffic. Given my recent experiences, I called from my car before the scheduled appointment to tell them I would be late. The front desk asked how late. I said I didn't know. The girl guessed 10 minutes? I said I didn't know that may be right. She said that was okay and to come ahead. I fought traffic and was 25 minutes late. The front desk said the technician couldn't take me, because I was too late. Never mind that the technician double-booked me with another client and there was no indication of that when I called ahead. The front desk couldn't help. They tried calling me on two phone numbers in my record that I didn't know and were not mine. I am not a difficult client and have never complained outside of being repeatedly cancelled. So if you are looking for elegance, class, sophistication and the ulitmate customer experience from your beauty salon, there are better options to choose from. Upon announcing to the front desk's manager that I would no longer be coming to Spalon Montage, she said they try to give good customer service. They may try, but not hard enough for me. I am taking this long term revenue stream elsewhere.

He is willing to give his professional opinion on hairstyles without being pushy or condescending and is friendly.  The salon is out of my way, so I only go there a couple of times a year.  I've been able to schedule an appointment without waiting for weeks.  The staff at the entrance have always been polite and professional.  I usually end up buying product as well, so don't leave the place for under $100, although I don't feel pressured.  I've had my hair colored there as well and was quite pleased but that really increases the cost so I usually have that done at my regular salon which is half the price.

Overall it was a good experience.  Extremely nice people from the time you walk in and through the entire experience.  Pleasantly surprised by the informative capabilities of my massage therapist.    The only part that was complicated was my ability to clearly state when points were being massaged a little too deep.  I was trying to express it but in truth I wanted to be able to be there and just enjoy the massage.  With that said, it might chalk that up to my experience and recognizing that given time, she would begin to learn me and be less dependent on my responses.

I have seen Chelsea twice now.  First time to fix a complete mess of a haircut that I got from someone else.  The second time for hair color.  She is good.  She knows what she's doing, has made spot on suggestions for what will look best for me.  I wish she was cheaper, but I'll keep going because I trust her.

My husband got me a spa day here for mothers day awhile ago. The massage was nice, but the person who did my hair was horrible. She was very rough and I was almost in tears. My hair was a bit oily from the massage and she was not gentle at all to brush through it. I said something but it didn't change. She did not listen to me at all and then the manicure wasn't much better. They were not professional at all. So sad.

I saw Amber.  She listened to what I wanted.  Then gave a great massaging shampoo.  Was friendly but I don't talk to much in the chair since I want her to be able to concentrate on the cut.  My hair ended up looking better than I had hoped.  She did not push any products.  The salon atmosphere was very nice also.  Very pleasant experience.  I will be back every 6-8 weeks.

It went really well.  I really enjoyed it.  It was a gift.  It was just wonderful and the massage was great.  The whole atmosphere was so comfortable and relaxing.  I've never been to a spa that was that wonderful.  It was a really good experience.  The place we have to sit in the lounge area was a fire place which was just a really soothing experience.  They had coffee available or whatever we wanted to drink.  It was just a relaxing atmosphere which is what really kind of stuck out.  I'm not sure what the price was but it was well worth whatever it was paid for.

The salon associates at check in are very friendly.  They ask you if you need anything to drink.  The salon is very pretty and relaxing.  It's not a terrible thing to wait a little for the salon associate.  Especially when you are kid free :)  The chairs are clean and comforable.  Everything used during the cut/style look clean and fresh.  The staff all seem very friendly and kind.  My hair was given more attention than I am used to.  It was nice.  I am happy to know I have found a place nearby that I feel good going to.  I am excited to try the other services offered at the salon.  Mani/Pedi and massages are next on my list.

Spalon in Edina is easy to get to and parking is next door in the free municipal garage. When you enter the business it is confusing the first time.
The first time was great. My stylist was just completing her first year at the salon, and she did a fantastic job. I told her that I liked to go the the same stylist each time. She assured me her schedule would accommodate my schedule. We discussed my return in 6 weeks. I tried to make an appointment with her for the second appointment about two weeks in advance and her scheduled changed so she was not available on Sundays. I left a voice mail message for her as she told me to do explaining the situation. I never heard back from her.
I decided to try a different stylist, because I could not get an appointment with the first person. The second stylist did a cut and blow-dry. The entire experience did not go as well as the first, and my blow dry did not last as long. Although I tried to explain what the first person and I discussed for my second appointment, she was unable to understand what I requested.
My mother's manicurist did a wonderful job, that lasted a very long time. The person who did mother's manicure was professional in appearance, skill, and communication. The woman who did my manicure was less than professional in manner and communication, and I would not return to her.
I prefer to find a place where I can see the same person every time I chose to not return. Spalon Montage services at this location were too variable in quality.
