They had to replace a diverter cartridge but they broke it. Initially, they told me that everything was fine but then I noticed that the water was dripping and not diverted correctly. They claimed that the spout dripping was normal and I had Grohe sent me a new part to be installed. The new plumber who replaced it showed me how the initial diverter's spring was broken during installation. Very disappointing, especially the fact that they did not take ownership of breaking the part and charged me an exorbitant amount for installation. They wanted the same exorbitant amount to install the new part.

It went well! Brent did exactly what he told me he was going to do during the estimate. He was on time, efficient, professional, and even the city inspector gave his work two thumbs up!

Removed wallboard up a couple of feet and located the leak. Repaired the leak and another which had damaged a ceiling tile. Inspected the area to make sure no other leaks were present. Replaced valve in floor drain.

Southtown Plumbing was the least expensive estimate I received and he was able to begin work sooner than any one else. Since cost and timing were very important to me, I decided to hire Brett. There were three aspects that were very frustrating. 1. Quality of Work: He did not square my shower base. There were gaps between the studs and the shower base, so I had to spend a couple of hours of re-work filling those gaps so my concrete board would run flush with the shower base and allow me to tile. They also forgot to put the vent cap back on so they had to come back the next day. It got me thinking, are there other details they over looked which I'll find out the hard way? 2. Pulling the Permit. The city requires the person conducting the work to pull the permit. In normal circumstances, the plumber would pull the permit then the homeowner pays for that permit fee.. I discovered that Brett the plumber charged me $97 for the permit even though it actually cost $63.50. He also pulled the permit incorrectly, which forced me in a position to have to spend another $36 for an additional permit. 3. Communication. Brett had good communication...until I wanted to discuss the permit fee discrepancy and the poor shower base installation. I left him voice mails and text messages and he never got back to me. Overall, I was disappointed that he over charged me for the permit and did not take the time to make sure my shower base was square. While he was professional on site, it was overshadowed by unethically inflating the permit fee.

Great!  Brian is knowledgeable, professional, respectful of our home, and friendly.  We see him twice a year or so.  As always, he went the full distance by snaking in both directions from our backed-up shower and then also ensured our main line was clear. Awesome service with a smile...and at really good prices!  We highly recommend!

I wanted to replace the 40 year old toilet in my second bathroom. I prefer Toto and went online to determine which model I wanted. Because I had been happy with Brent's work on 3 previous occasions, I had Southtown Plumbing order it for me. Three days later, Brent called to schedule the installation later the same day.
The installation went well. Brent cleaned the floor tiles from the previous installation. He went out of his way to show and explain the inner workings of the new toilet, which is different than older models. The bathroom was perfectly clean when he finished.
Brent is very personable and likes to chat. Unfortunately, this time he complained about the people in government housing and described one client as "a big black woman," even though her size and race had nothing to do with his story. I explained that I sometimes work with people who live in government housing and they have had very tough lives and most have mental illness. They don't have the ability to hold a job. Still, he went on to complain about another client. He also talked about a relative who decided to take a job that paid less because if he earned more it would go to taxes and he didn't want to support people who don't want to support themselves. When Brent went over the bill with me, he referred to the state sales tax as "for Obama Care." 
In another setting, I would have told him more directly that I don't hold the same views and would have asked him to stop. However, I had a strange man in my house working on my plumbing and I didn't want to take the risk. Sharing ones views on race and politics is extremely unprofessional, especially if the client does not espouse the same view first. 

Southtown plumbing did a good job with repair. An old valve for shutting off external faucets was leaking. The problem was at the junction of iron, copper & plastic piping.  The plumber quickly replaced the valve, with some difficulty with a plastic fitting (he wanted a replaceable fitting, but had to go with a glued fitting).  He charged for a quick trip to a nearby hardware store but not to one a bit further away.  He suggested a source for a faucet handle.

I lived in an apartment building, so the caretaker contacted them and the company that managed the building paid them.
they were only 1 block away so were very convenient to get work done.  If I lived in Richfield, I would call them again.

We had an old pipe connection that was leaking in the wall under the kitchen sink...dripping downstairs and also to the outside under the siding.  They came out within two days of out calling.  Brent found the problem right away, cut out the bad portion and replaced it.  He was quick, friendly, helpful with questions we had for other areas.  He showed us how totally plugged our drain was and suggested we have all of them completely cleaned out.  So, we had Brian come out a couple of days later.  He cleaned the bathroom and kitchen drains for $90 and replaced the bathroom trap with new plastic one at no additional charge.  Again....quick, friendly, helpful.  Both jobs and new pipe cost $250.  Very reasonable for two visits.  We will definitely use Southtown Plumbing again and reccomment to friends and neighbors.

Called for an appt.  Brent came out exactly on time the next day.  Replaced the old drain pipe with a new plastic one and fixed the drain plug.
It's all working perfectly now.
Brian is very friendly and efficient.

Our experience with Southtown Plumbing was excellent.    They were able to get to our small job quickly, knew exactly what to do, were well-prepared, professional, on-time and reasonably priced.    And, the quality of the work was excellent.   Brent did a great job and we would use Southtown again if we have the need.

Brent was very pleasant to work with and didn't charge a service call. I will most certainly use them again.

They were fabulous! They came out and gave a free estimate before the service. They seem to bea great family owned and operated businness. There was a small emergency (not because of their services). They fit us in their schedule that day for repair and no extra charges. I am very happy with their services.

He was on time, he knew exactly what the problems were, and had the parts with him.  The shower thingy was really stuck on, but knowing the tricks of the trade, he got it off without breaking the pipe or something.  It was smooth and easy, and it all works perfectly.  I wish I had called them sooner.
