We could not be more pleased with Alex and his team's work. We love our new bathroom. Alex was very thorough in taking the time to learn our design likes and dislikes. We wanted a design that would freshen up the space yet respect and maintain the time period of the age of our home. Alex took the time to design the space to allow more room and ensure our needs for what we wanted were met and stayed within budget. Updates were provided weekly throughout the entire process and daily during the actual remodel. Alex is a very good communicator and is certain to set and maintain expectations and at the same time respect the customers desire(s). The project plan and estimates where very comprehensive yet easy to understand, detailing each step of the remodel with key dates and estimated time lines. Our remodel project was on schedule and completed on schedule. Post remodel follow up was above and beyond. Alex was very responsive as normal post project tweaks became necessary, ensuring our complete and total satisfaction. I'm the first to admit that I am not the easiest person to please, but there was nothing, absolutely nothing, that I am not pleased with regarding our experience with Alex and his team at South Face Builders. In late October 2009, a pipe burst in our upper level bathroom, flooding a significant portion of our living space. The damage was immense, and after contacting our insurer and having professional water remediation, we began our search for the people that would completely re-build two bathrooms, repair walls and ceilings and replace carpet, doors and fixtures throughout our home. Our first thought was to call Alex Brogel of South Face Builders. Our insurer also provided recommendations for other contractors, so we contacted several different contractors to get estimates and timelines for our project. From the first day it was clear that Alex was simply in a different league than the other contractors. Alex?s quote was far more professional, meticulous, timely and considerate of our needs than any other contractor. The choice could not have been easier. Alex?s performance throughout the project was nothing short of spectacular. In the planning stage, Alex repeatedly took the time to walk us through our options and make sure that we got the very best materials at a price that would fit our budget. Alex created an ambitious and detailed schedule that put completion weeks ahead of what other contractors estimated. Alex used the very best subcontractors and supervised every detail of the construction. He was not satisfied with any result short of perfection, and he frequently would go back, recheck and retouch many aspects of the project to make sure they completely met his very high standards. Throughout, he was always professional, courteous and composed. He was always available to answer questions and was willing to listen to all of our ideas and concerns. The results exceeded our admittedly high expectations. The construction was artistically done and flawless down to the smallest detail. In the end, the project was completed on schedule and on budget. We have been very pleased with the project and South Face Builders. We do not think we could find a better contractor, and we would recommend South Face Builders to anyone looking for the very best.

There was a little settling in the ceramic tiles in the back hall. He fixed the tiles right on the spot. He did a phenominal job. I've recommended him to others.

South Face builders, (aka Alex Brogle) did an amazing basement finish job for our new home in Lakeville in early 2009. We had purchased the home in October, after a work relocation, and loved everything about it, except for the concrete slab in the basement. We decided to finish the basement immediately, and got a bid from Alex on a referral of a close friend. The estimate was thorough, simple to understand, and within our budget. Alex was patient and understanding in his demeanor on the phone, which was a huge plus for my wife and I, who had never truly done a large remodel such as this. We knew we wanted the basement to be completed, both for our own enjoyment, and for future resale value. Our budget was around $40,000. Alex's bid was in the mid $30K's, and upon completion came out to around $36,000. We came home from vacation in January to the basement of our dreams! We will absolutely call Alex and South Face for any future design or remodel projects.

I was terrified looking for a general contractor because I usually do my own work on my home. My project was too big for me to tackle. I went to a remodeling fair in Richfield and met several general contractors. From the start there was something wonderfully different about Alex Brogle and South Face. He Listened! The other contractors wanted to tell me what to do from the start. Alex listened and learned what I had been thinking about for the past 10 years. Alex also followed through on every detail that he said he would do. Step by step, list by list, Alex was there to work with me as a team. Alex also learned my style so that he could the see the project the way I saw it. Alex did this so well that on the one major part of the design I had trouble visualizing, Alex pulled it all together brilliantly. People often ask me how it went having a general contractor. I tell people that my wife and kids and I fell in love with Alex and his wife and adopted them on the spot!

I made the phone call to Alex and asked that we get him to visit for a bid. We knew we needed to get it done on a certain time frame and that was part of our decision. We set a time to meet and talked about what we were looking to do. I showed him the rooms and talked about what we wanted to get accomplished and asked about the time frame. One of the things that was important to us was that the spaces were closed off from the rest of the house. We had specific reasons for that and they were able to put up plastic with zipper doors to keep the dust confined. You never keep it all out, but it was a huge help. They also laid cardboard and plastic on the floors to the rooms being finished. We never had any issues with getting questions answered or things done when we asked. Alex held a weekly meeting to answer questions and give a status report. He offered a $75 credit for each day after our agreed upon completion date. That gave us confidence the job would be done on time.

South Face did an excellent job for us. Our project was completed on schedule, on budget, and without any significant hitch. Alex is extremely attentive, responsive, and focused on customer service, much more so than I ever expected. In addition to the scheduled weekly progress meetings, he was readily available throughout the project to address any questions or concerns. His workers were courteous and pleasant. The quality of the work was excellent. Alex was very open to our desire to perform some of the work ourselves (painting, installation of flooring). He was flexible in responding to requests from us for changes after work had begun. This is the way all projects should go! We recommend Alex and South Face 100%.

We interviewed 5 general contractors over the course of 3 months, and Alex Brogle at South Face Builders clearly stood out ahead of all the others. We received a prompt and thoughtful, itemized cost estimate, which ended up being extremely accurate! It was easy to communicate with Alex, thanks to the weekly meetings, phone calls, and daily e-mail correspondence. The carpenters and subcontractors were very courteous and skilled, and we were impressed with Alex s detail-oriented project management, ensuring everything was completed 100% according to the project specifications. We were also impressed with Alex s prompt handling of change orders, both the unexpected change orders as well as those last minute decisions on our part. Alex was extremely flexible in permitting us to complete much of the (less-skilled) work ourselves, and he gladly provided assistance to us when we needed it. Overall, it was the best possible experience we could have hoped for!

Alex was great. Thanks to him we had no problem with any of the subcontractors, and the project committee was spared the hassle of finding and dealing with subs. Several of the jobs were quite small and Alex was able to find high-quality subs who were willing to ''squeeze in'' the work on our project. He worked with the subcontractors to accommodate of multiple schedule changes (ours) and remained cheerful and helpful throughout. I would definitely recommend him and use him again. In the beginning we had some trouble connecting via phone, but then we arranged for Alex to call me every morning and afternoon to check in and report on progress and ask questions. Given all the different players on this project, that proved to be a very effective way to get keep things moving without having to play phone tag all day. Alex wasn't always on time, but in his line of work that's understandable and didn't pose any problem for us. He'd usually let us know when he was running late.
