SILENT KNIGHT SECURITY

I've been using silent knight for the last few years as my security system monitoring company. They are very responisve and even call when the alarm system goes into battery back-up mode.

Been extremely happy with their service.  They did a great job installing the system and it has been in service for 2 years without any problem.  Also they have been monitoring the system for over 2 years and have found them very responsive and professional.

I scheduled a repair to my system over a month ago, the technician arrived at the home and could not determine if my system was either Wireless or wired. In lieu of calling me directly the technician told my 14 year son that the service repair will have to be rescheduled. I have since called and left 5 messages asking to having the service rescheduled with no response. 

The installer was prompt and did a great job. He cleaned up everything well afterwards. However, we had a door sensor that began to fail after about a week. We called to have it serviced and were given a date and time to expect the repairman. On the date of the service the repairman called to tell us he was running late. He ended up not being able to come. This was frustrating since I had taken the day off for the service repair and I was told that they could not send someone on a Saturday for the repair. Ultimately, the problem was resolved and a repair person came out on a Saturday so that I did not have to take another day off. Outside of this incident, the rest of the installation went fine.

Top notch in every way - so glad I went with Silent Knight. I researched several other companies with good Angie's List ratings and Silent Knight was by far the most responsive (one well-known national brand I called didn't even come out to my house to do an estimate) and I couldn't be happier with my interactions with them as well as the work done, our new system and the personalized service. Also love that it's a local company and all calls go right to the local call center instead of being routed to a huge national hub. 
When Bill came out to do the estimate, he spent as much time as needed to walk through the house and help me understand my options. I had a ton of questions since this is our first security system but he was incredibly patient and even revised the estimate for me via email several times (again, very patient!) until I had just what we wanted - he was also very helpful in keeping cost in mind and I never felt pressured at all to buy something more expensive than what I needed. 
Installation was scheduled and Dustin was right on time coming out to do the install; he was super friendly and professional. I was really pleased with the system itself; the door/window contacts were much less conspicuous than I thought they'd be, which was nice, and the panel is a touch screen that actually looks really cool (husband loved it.) Bill not only called during the install to make sure everything was going well, but also followed up a few days after to make sure I was happy with everything. 
Dustin was also super patient in explaining the system to me, making sure I knew how to work it, answered all of my questions, helped me test out different scenarios, etc. 
We were initially a little unsure about getting a system (husband was not sure it was "necessary") and we did spend a little bit more than I originally planned, but I am so happy with what we have now and think it's completely worth it. I feel like Silent Knight is really trustworthy and am very glad I went with them - would highly recommend.

I  called the original alarm service supplier (also an Angie's list top performer) for a system review of a home security system that wasn't working.  After a sales guy came out he told me that I would have to replace the keypad ($400) and sign a 4 year contract. My other option was to have one of their techs come out at $75 per quarter hour plus travel time.  No way.  They told me I wouldn't find another company that could do better.  A challenge.  I called Silent Knight and talked to Don.  Don immediately offered to send out a service person as a courtesy call to see if they could fix the problem.  He said that after that courtesy call we could discuss my options.  Bob came out and found that a backup battery was shorting the system.  He replaced it and then spent the next 30 minutes testing all the zones of the security system. All at no charge.  I called Don at Silent Knight to inquire about monitoring service.  $24.95/month and I could determine the length of the contract term.  I selected a 2 year term, received 6 months free because of my Angie's membership and we are good to go.  What a great way to do business and they have more than earned a customer and a fan.

They are affordable, they worked with my existing system, they were able to come out the same day that I called, and they worked within my budget.

I was so pleased with them that I referred my neighbor to them and now two of us have them. They can do the installation in many ways. The price included a few pieces that were over and beyond what a normal install would be. I have a large dog and I wanted motion detectors that would not be set off by the dog. By paying more for the equipment and install upfront it allows me to have a cheaper monthly price. They made more of their profit on the install instead of the service. I only pay $25 a month. They are flexible with people and they want to be competitive. They are a local company and just in the Twin Cities area so you deal with people that you know. I've dealt with 3 or 4 people that were wonderful and very accommodating. They let me pay the install in installments. They also have a referral program so I got two months free for referring my neighbor. I thought they would be the last people that I would use because they are smaller but I'm very glad I used them. They are not the cheapest but they are competitive. When you add the install with the monthly service they are definitely competitive.

They seem like they have a higher level of service and a better system. They are professional and provided good service.

It was very good. I spoke to Jason who knew his stuff and he was not over pressuring in any nature. He explained everything in detail and even brought over products to inspect.

So far everything has been fine. It is a long term arrangement with them, so we will have to see how it goes.

We received 3 bids for a home alarm system. Two of the systems were comparable (a combination of hard wire and wireless) and we chose the one with higher upfront costs and a lower monthly monitoring fee. When the technicians came to install the system they discovered they could not get wires up to the second floor where we wanted a key pad installed. This was after several hours of checking and probing. Our options were to install a wireless remote keypad, which differed in style from the first floor keypad, or to use a wireless system for both up and down stairs keypads. The salesman brought over a wireless remote to show us what it looked like. We knew we wanted both keypads to be identical and rejected that option. We were not pushed to make a decision at that time and the salesman and technicians left. Our options then were to go with wireless identical keypads or chose another company and see what they could do. We thought it over and decided to continue with Silent Knight. A new installation date was set and the system was installed and tested and we were shown how to use it. Since then I have called the company with minor questions about the system and have received answers in a timely manner.

They are alway available. If I have any problems they come right over. They are very nice people that do there job really well. I trust them. I have used them for 15 or 20 years.
