Shipshape Interior Painting

Drywall - Install, Drywall - Repair, Exterior Home or Structure Paint or Stain,

About us

Shipshape Interior Painting is owned and operated by a fourth-generation painter with over 30 years experience. Prior to 2018, we worked as Banner Home Painting, but have shifted our focus to exclusively doing top-notch interior work. We aren't going to be the cheapest guys out there, but we want to be the best you can get for a reasonable price. The majority of our work is residential interior redo, with an increasing amount of subcontracting on residential remodel jobs. Terms for work include a signed contract and 1/3 to 1/2 advance payment at the start of the job, with the final payment due immediately upon completion of the job. Costs are based on individual free estimates. Any overages are approved by customer in advance--no surprise extra charges.

Bryan and his crew at Shipshape were great. Great communication, arrived on time, did a wonderful job and had a very fair price for all the work they did. Would definitely recommend them.

We have used Brian and his team before. Not only is the painting excellent, but the wall and ceiling preparation (crack repair, etc.) is masterful. Cleanup is excellent as well which is particularly difficult when extensive sanding is involved. They worked daily without skipping for other jobs. Cleanup was done daily. They use more materials (plastic coverings, tarps, etc.) than other painters we have used in the past. They do what is necessary for excellent results.

I retained Byan after receiving several quotes for project work detailed above. Bryan's proposal was the most detailed. I felt good about the quote as he was in the ballpark of the others and he was also pleasant in person when he came to visit - very detail oriented as well as making several suggestions which made absolutely complete sense. I followed up on this with Angie's List and was pleased to see how highly reviewed he was and the number of high quality of reviews Banner received. The fellow that works with Bryan was great as well. Banner consists of a very pleasant owner with 30+ years of experience who performed quality work at a fair price. They literally left the house maybe 15 minutes ago and I looked forward to writing this review. You never know the quality of work someone will do - I am grateful for Angie's List as well as the excellent job completed from Banner painting.

It went very well. Bryan and his team was very respectful and efficient with their work. They did a great job cleaning up after they were done and communicating future work. The paint job looked great and I was satisfied with their job. Would definitely work with them again.

Perfect. I got 3 bids for my job. Banner was the least expensive and used the paint I wanted. Bryan and his crew were wonderful and accommodating. I was able to talk to Bryan about colors, he is knowledgeable because he has an art background. The project took 2 days. The crew showed up on time, left the condo clean, left the paint for touchups when we would need it in the future. They were responsive and flexible. They even removed a giant mirror so the wall could be painted. Great job. I've already recommended him to others. The cost was $2,730.00 but I couldn't add it to the appropriate box below.

I could not have been more pleased with Bryan Alft's work.  He clearly explained what needed to be done,  and the time it would take to correct the problems with the bathroom, taking into account that our home was built over 100 years ago, and had received several coats of paint (including lead paint) over the years.  He was personable, arrived on time, and showed skill and attention to detail.  He sealed the bathroom before removing the paint layers, and thoroughly cleaned the room before leaving each day.  He was open to listening to my concerns about the job, and restored the room as I wanted.

Banner did a great job.  They were flexible and accommodating on the appointment time, took care to tape edging, patch small nicks, prime, and paint.  Overall, an outstanding job!

Bryan was from the start very detail oriented, even for his initial bid there was a lot of time and thought put into the process. Communication was prompt and thorough, a schedule was given (with a few buffer days for weather and the unexpected) and followed through on....which is not always the case with the tradespeople we have for other jobs at the house.
A word about the house he painted for us- it's an architect's gut rehab (circa 1985)of an 1892 historic house. Almost every surface of the house is custom milled woodwork, there is very little drywall, there is an incredible amount of detailed trim, think "Urban Farmhouse".  2-story vaulted ceilings, the works. The original paint was an incredibly tough oil based enamel, unfortunately for us it was in purple, salmon, puce, and half a dozen other colors.
Anyway, the whole crew did an incredible job- the amount of detail work and accuracy of fine lines on the trim really shows an artistic sensibility that could only come from pride in the work, even in the spots where nobody is really going to see. The spraying done by Sean looks great!
Also Bryan put our minds at ease with a solid warranty, standing behind the work.
Bottom line- Complicated job, excellent quality work, reasonable price. We are hoping to hire them again for the exterior.

I am so very pleased with the service Bradley and his crew provided. I purchased a deal on Angie's list and he contacted me right away to schedule the painting day and for a time to come before to see the room.
I thought with the deal I would just get the bedroom done but he said he could also paint the kitchen. He told me to pick out a color for the bedroom and he took a paint sample from the kitchen to match what I had. He told me he would bring the paint and estimated the cost for the materials.
He came on the day and time we arranged with another man. They were nice and professional and did a great job repairing nail holes etc. There were some holes where a gate had been. The holes needed to be filled and the filler needed to dry before painting. Bradley arranged to come a few days later to finish the job and also offered to re-hang a heavy framed print.
The job is now finished, the print looks great on the freshly painted wall, and I am an enthusiastic customer.
I recommend this company without any reservations.

Bryan and his other painter (sorry can't remember his name) arrived right on time and got down to work.  We had most of the furniture moved out, and light fixture in dining room removed.  My husband had washed down everything with TSP the weekend before to be sure that there was no dust or dirt issues for paint adherence.
We used good quality paint from Benjamin Moore Historical Colors.  The painting took longer than Bryan anticipated.  I think the crown molding was probably the issue, but he did not charge any additional.
Everything turned out BEAUTIFUL!  The painting is truly professional and we are so happy, we asked Bryan to give us a quote for additional painting.
You can be sure that you will receive a great service from Banner Home Painting!

Bryan and his team are fantastic. They did what they said they would do, when they said they would do it and for the cost they quoted. Both of the painters he had on his crew were very respectful of me and my home and rhe job they did was beautiful. They did such a good job,I requested a quote for my living room and hallway and I plan to have the work done even without an Angie's List deal! I would recommend them to any and everyone!
