I purchased a sideboard which looked lovely in the showroom. When it was delivered it was awful. The wood did not look anything like it did in the store and the top was full of black knots in the wood. Although they delivered a defective piece I must pay to have the piece taken away. Expensive lesson (paying two delivery fees) to learn not to shop at this store ever again.

We bought a couch for our family room and we weren't given the information on the care at all. We spot cleaned and bleached the couch and the back of it ripped off.. I was supposed to know that as a consumer that it's not washable. So, I called them and they gave me three products to clean the couch which I could not even find locally. I called the dry cleaner and he said, this is really ridiculous. i wouldn't even touch it. He said, it was very irresponsible on their part. So, I went and talked to them. The said, there was no warranty and that's the way it is. As a consumer, even if I didn't ask the right questions, they should teach you professionally what you need to know when you buy their products. I said, I cant get this couch cleaned and they said, they would sell me another product. After all the problems I had with them, they wanted to sell me another product. Again, where is the policy, where is the professionalism? I said to my husband, we've spent thousands there and I will never go into that store again. They were not respectful.

We were in the market for leather family room furniture. Having experienced horrible service on two previous purchases from HOM, we decided to try Schneiderman's in Plymouth. This was the most positive furniture experience we have ever had. HOM could learn a few things from Schneiderman's. We walked in on Sunday. Browsed for about an hour, unharrassed by the sales people who were dispersed throughout the store. While every one of them greeted us with a "hello," none pestered us. Once we found a set we liked (we were sitting relaxed in the sofa), a perceptive sales person, Barb L. approached us and asked if she could help. She answered our questions, determined availability, and explained the process and timing for getting the furniture delivered. She could not have been more attentive and pleasant. She said they would deliver it on Friday, they would call on Wednesday to give a delivery time range. And, believe it or not, that is exactly how it went. The two delivery guys could not have been nicer and more respectful of our home. On Friday at 1:00 (15 minutes earlier than promised) we were sitting in our new leather furniture. To us, this was remarkable, we have made two previous purchases from their competitor HOM and start to finish it was a nightmare every time. We had no idea furniture purchase could be so pleasant. The Schneiderman sales woman, Barb, told us they were a family operation and it was run that way. Yes it is! Twin Cities furniture buyers need to patronize this furniture retailer. They are terrific.
