This was a big deal purchase. The people that were doing it were about 65 years old and were Romanian or Russian, I think they were actually Russian but from Romania. They were an elderly couple and did a pretty good job but I am not going to go with them again. The main problems I had were they were very slow. They had four hours and the things I asked them to do was clean the bathrooms upstairs and the one downstairs -- they did not get to the one downstairs. They did some nice things like make up all of my beds. But then as I look around my house the dusting leaves a little bit to be desired. Maybe what she told them was not to move things around so they don't break things. She is going to call me back to see whether or not I want to continue with them, but I want someone to come in for an hour or two a week who will know my house to get everything done. It was very difficult to talk to these people because they didn't speak English very well. These were two of her employees and it was difficult for them to understand what I was asking them to do. They told me that if I wanted them to clean the downstairs bathroom it would cost another $25 for another hour's service. If I could speak Russian it would have gone much better. Their price was high. Their responsiveness to me was very good because I had to delay a couple of times. They came when they said they would. The owner manager was here at the beginning and she talked to them about what I wanted done, but from then on I could not get the cleaners to really understand. It was very hard. The two that she had had quite a bit of trouble speaking English. They were very nice.

However, to be fair, I have to say you omitted many things in your review which make it quite dishonest. First, I wanted to say that I don’t hire people who does not understand or speak English. The cleaning couple you got was able to speak and understand English, and the fact that they have an accent doesn’t let you assume they don’t understand you. They’ve been working for me for a long time, and I have never had complains from other customers in relation to their English. Also, they are more than a decade younger than you thought. Yes, cleaning is not an easy job, and their hard work could be the reason that they don’t look younger. In addition, you claimed that the only thing you asked them to do was “clean the bathrooms upstairs and the one downstairs – they did not get to the one downstairs”. In addition to the bathrooms you mentioned, you also requested them to clean the kitchen from top to bottom (all appliances inside and out, cabinets, sink, floors, etc), dust the bedrooms, the living room and the family room, vacuum the stairs, clean all the windows inside and I was present when you requested these items to be cleaned! When they were vacuuming, you also asked them to flip ALL the furniture and vacuum pet hair underneath... so YES, they used all the 8 labor hours that you purchased and did not have time to get to the bathroom downstairs. They even fixed a few simple things because you needed help with that. They were willing to stay longer if you’d like, but you told me you don’t want them to stay. Also, I want to add a quick note regarding the price. You purchased a Big Deal coupon and if you were unhappy with my pricing, you should’ve checked other companies’ profiles and look for more affordable deals. Big Deal purchase is a fixed price and I am unable to charge less for the fixed amount of hours."

"Dear customers, Romarina Cleaning is a cleaning service provider with great success. We strive to bring the best experience to all our clients. We ask our customers to be realistic and to understand that we cannot be responsible for things that are out of our control. First, Angie’s List sold the coupon that this customer is referring to by mistake. We had no control of those sales. I asked this customer (and several others) to contact Angie’s List for a full refund, because Angie’s List manages the funds, and we cannot issue refunds. All customers contacted Angie’s List and received refunds, except for this one customer. I asked her many times, but she did not respond to my emails. After three weeks with no results, I decided to honor the deal to make sure the customer has a positive experience with us. However, the costumer didn’t read the fine print on the deal and didn’t make sure our services fit her needs before buying the deal. The customer insisted on washing the walls with bleach sprayer multiple times. The deal clearly says that wall washing is not included. Further, Romarina Cleaning is eco-friendly company, and we avoid harmful chemicals with harsh smell. Many eco-friendly disinfectants are alternative to the bleach. Still, some people associate freshness with bleach smell. Lastly, 8 man-hours is not enough to deep clean a big townhome with huge glass walls that are occupied with many people and pets. Our cleaning teams do a thorough job, focusing on details and avoiding rushing through the house. That is why more time should be given to a cleaning crew in order to receive fully clean and fresh house. We recommended to spend a little more time on cleaning to finish all unfinished tasks and offered to clean that carpet stain at no charge. However, the customer never responded to our email. We apologize to our customer for causing her frustration, but we are frustrated no less. We try to provide the best possible cleaning and would come to her house and remove the carpet stain at no charge, but we cannot bring satisfaction to customers if they want to receive excellent services nearly free."
