Richfield Blacktop & Concrete

Throughout the process it was easy working with Richfield Blacktop and Concrete. Mark Fishbeck and Tom Breen were professional and helpful. We had a conflict in dates and they worked to complete our job in a timely manner. The crew was efficient and careful.

Excellent job all the way from John giving the estimate to Hard working, Friendly Tony and crew. Would recommend. The cleanup after done was also excellent.

Project was scheduled for August. On August 3 they showed up exactly when they said they would. Project was completed in 4 hours and looks great.

Everyone involved in the process was concerned that the work be done perfectly . From the estimate, to the excavation, to the forms and all of the pouring and finishing and clean up, the job was done beautifully and we couldn't be happier. These guys are craftsmen. They clearly enjoy what they do and take a lot of pride in it. I'd hire them all again in a heartbeat.

The new driveway looks great - neighbors have complimented us on its appearance. We did have an issue with our coated concrete floor getting scratched where the driveway meets the coated floor. The floor will be repaired by the original coating crew and Richfield Blacktop and Concrete has been WONDERFUL to work with resolving this issue.

Outstanding. This was kind of a rush job as the house needed to go on the market. Richfield Concrete stepped up and took care of it. Richfield Blacktop uses an infrared heating process to makes repairs to blacktop surface. The process heats down to the base and as a result its a complete block of asphalt and not a surficial repair. The work was done very quickly and the repairs turned out beautifully. We expect the repairs to last several years. We will definitely use them again for future repairs.

I reached out to several companies to bid on replacing my existing disaster of an asphalt driveway. Bob from Richfield Concrete came out and as I went through what I wanted to do he made great suggestions and listened to everything my wife and I wanted and put it to paper. After a few days, I decided to go with Bob and RC&A. The price they quoted also included a 14' firepit. They were a little more expensive than others but the confidence and trust Bob engendered and their reputation sold my wife and I. It took a few weeks once we decided to get everything ready. They came out early on a Monday morning and all I can say is from beginning to end the crew and foreman Troy was professional, courteous and even made some last minute modifications I asked for without blinking. It took all of 6 hours and the job was perhaps the most professional and amazing result of any job I have ever embarked on. Our Driveway is a perfectly graded, leveled and a masterpiece of concrete work, I doubt the army core of engineers has ever performed a more perfect job. If I ever need any concrete work done again, They will be my first and only call. Thank you Bob, Thank you Troy and your incredible crew. The only complaint I had was waiting 7 days to park on it!! Came a day later than scheduled but then came next day and completed it start to finish in one day instead of two... which was actually better for me. They tore up the pavers that were along side the house and sinking and replaced them with concrete and then continued out toward the street to widen the driveway for extra parking and added 2 feet to the opposite side. They did an excellent job of working right up next to the house and two basement window wells and graded it away from the house. I would definitely use them again. Thanks guys!

Overall we were very satisfied with our experience. The estimator made some good suggestions and explained fully what the process would entail. We were favorably impressed by the amount of time that he spent with us and the level of detail that he went into explaining what to expect and the quality of their work. Their price was very competitive. They were able to start the job a few days earlier than they originally thought, which was fine with us. They completed the job in two days. We've received many compliments on the final product. We did have one problem at the end of the project, but we were able to easily resolve it to our mutual satisfaction. I strongly suggest that if you have any questions or problems, that you call or email Tom at the office and work with him. When I called him, he listened to my problem and solved it in a fair and equitable way. I was left feeling that Richfield Concrete is a very ethically managed business. I would definitely use them again and have no reservations about recommending them to others.

From the initial phone call throughout the entire process we experienced highly responsive and professional service from Tom and Badger. The job required the garage to be raised so that the new concrete floor could be poured over the existing foundation. An expanded garage apron, patio and sidewalk segments were included in the project. They knocked the ball out of the park. We could not be more pleased with the quality of their work!! Added instant value and curb appeal to the home. We will call on Richfield again.

We have worked with Richfield Blacktop & Concrete for years and every experience has been great. We had them do asphalt work before they replaced our driveway with cement. We've since had them out to tint/seal a few times and the results are always amazing. The owner and crew at Richfield Blacktop and Concrete are all very respectful, detail oriented and extremely easy to reach. I highly recommend calling them if you want work done by true professionals!

Richfield did a wonderful job. They were not the lowest - they were on the high end but when comparing the services we felt you get what you pay for and we are very happy so far. They did a great job

It went pretty well. The estimating went fine. Clear contract terms. Clear pricing, although a single clean up item needed follow-up. It was subbed out. The crew was on time (crack of dawn, must have been 1st on the schedule that day), professional, and did a good job. The driveway turned out great (so far), just as advertised. Tom came out on timely basis to clean up the one item that was forgotten. No hassle. No other concerns. Job completed on time for the contracted price. No additional clean-up work than what was advertised/expected. No additional calls. Completely satisfied so far. Would use again, based on where we are today.

We obtained quotes from about 7 different paving companies. Richfield was the second most expensive, so we were a little reluctant to select them for our project. But they had the best warranty and seemed very responsive and professional. Also, they claim that no sealcoating is required for the life of the driveway. Time will tell, but if that's true it should be factored into the cost of the driveway as well. Considering these things we decided to go with Richfield. We will probably never need to exercise the warranty, but it gave us peace of mind. Everything about the project went smoothly and promptly. The work appeared to be directly supervised by experienced people, which we appreciated. They did a great job. The driveway looks perfect. The only downside: the list of use restrictions for the first 3 years was kind of surprising; the most stringent being not parking on it during the hottest part of the day in summer. That will be a challenge for us, but we are trusting it will be worth it.

If you want to work with a company that will stand behind there work, work with Richfield Blacktop and Concrete. There cost is very competitive as I had several bids for the project and there bid was very competitive. What set them apart was this, after the concrete was poured and the sealer was applied there were some issues with the appearance. I contacted the owner and expressed my displeasure. He came out, called me and told me he would take care of it. Not only did he further clean up the work area and put dirt and grass seed alongside my driveway, he offered to personally come out and re-seal my driveway that would take care of the imperfections. I work in the service industry and was very impressed by the actions of the owner, he cares about his customers and wants them to be satisfied. I can only give them my highest recommendation , you will be very satisfied with there work and there commitment to you as a customer.

Worst experience I ever had. I would rather have a root canal without novocaine before I hire that company again. When they tore out the old sidewalk they drove a Bobcat across my front yard. If that wasn't bad enough, when they poured the new sidewalk they backed a fully loaded concrete mixing truck right up to the front door, again across my front lawn. Talk about a good way to trash a front yard. WOW! They poured the new approach at the end of the driveway on the same day and it looked great, but... Now they had to tear out the old asphalt driveway, again using the Bobcat. They chipped the new approach (that they just poured) with the bucket on the Bobcat doing the demo. Bad enough, but gets worse. Next, they had to bring in a load of fill for the new driveway and backed a fully loaded dump truck over the new approach and you can guess what happened. It broke, all the way through in two places. I now had a three piece approach. When I asked the owner of the company (Tom) what he intended to do about that, he explained that it was normal and it just happens sometimes. I explained that I was buying a one piece and unbroken approach and wanted it fixed. His reply to me was " you are being unreasonable. Do you know how much that is going to cost me?" He said he would be happy to fix the approach if I would share the cost with him. I was dumbstruck, but finally responded that it was his fault that it broke because he drove a 40,000 pound fully loaded dump truck over it. This is the point in time where it turned into a full blown fight to get this thing fixed. The attitude Tom (owner) had on the phone was that of belligerent aggression and made communicating with him a challenge. It took about three weeks of negotiating with him about a problem that his crew created to get it resolved. Those phone calls were not easy to make because I knew I was going to be verbally abused every time I talked to him. If you want good customer service don't use this company. In the end, I took a cash discount and decided to repair all the damage (demo and pour a new curb, repair the 4 inch deep ruts in the lawn, glad I don't have automatic sprinklers) myself because I didn't want them on my property again. If this sounds like a good time, hire Tom and his Richfield Asphalt and Concrete company. If not, stay as far away from him as you can. I'm in construction and hired this company because I didn't want to do the work myself. I could get into more detail on this company and my experience but I need to get busy on all the repair work.
