Excellent! I would highly recommend. Friendly tech was all about doing the right thing for me. He helped me balance cost vs reliability. My AC unit is getting old and he fully discussed all my options and what he would recommend. I have dealt with several different HVAC companies in the past and always got the feeling that I was not getting a fair deal. Highly recommend these guys.

We had something several years done wrong not by them but by someone else and they corrected it and it's amazing how much more efficient our air conditioning is. Too much of the air was going was going down stairs and not upstairs. They had to have some new paths made and it made a lot of difference on our air conditioning. They've been a company that has been around for a long time. I think they actually installed our new furnace and maybe like 50 years ago, the same company, when we built a new home back in the 60's mid 60's, they had done the work on it. It's not a great big company but big enough to take care of us whenever we need something done. We definitely would use them again.

Great experience. The team was very nice, on time and helped correct existing air flow issues that other companies overlooked. Could not have been nicer or easier to work with, and did the work for a good price. I would highly recommend Ray Welter.

A great experience. I called mid-day on Monday and I received a call later that day to set a time for first thing in the morning. The tech showed up bright and early and quickly determined that I was low on freon. He topped it up and checked my other unit (I have separate units for up and downstairs on former duplex). We discussed things I could do to keep my units running well. Very reasonable with Angie's List coupon.

After the service was scheduled and performed a day later, I received a follow up call to see if everything was ok. Excellent! They sure seem to care. I had a good experience with these people a couple of years ago when they replaced the original system they installed in 1979. Everything works great! I've recommended them to several people I know, never heard one thing bad. I shopped around again for service, the worse one was the vendor who does it through Home Depot, they didn't even get back to me. When I had that vendor do an estimate a couple years ago for the whole furnace and A/C system replacement they were way overpriced and not straightforward. The Welter people were as reasonable and reliable as they were a couple of years ago. I recommend them! The price they charged was reasonable, they had to replace both a large filter and a humidifier boiler cartridge in the Aprilaire units they installed a couple of years ago. The units still work great!

Timely response to initial request for quote. The installation process was well communicated in advance and Jason arrived at arranged time. Installation went smoothly and all aspects of doing business with this company was very professional. Highly recommend using them.

I called these guys early on a Monday morning about a broken furnace at a rental property.  They were able to get out to the house the same day!  I was expecting the worst, and was left with a $150 bill.   Not bad Ray Welter.  Not bad at all.   Thanks for not trying to rake me over the coals.  I will definitely use them again for any HVAC needs.  Highly recommend.

Welter Heating Co. is a professionally run business. I was pleased with their service and what it cost to install a new Trane
furnace in my rental unit.  I recommend Welter to anyone who needs a new furnace.

The entire process went as smoothly as it possibly could have.  Todd came to provide the estimate within the hour I made my call.  The quote was hundreds, in one instance many hundreds, less than two other companies--and I gave both of them the opportunity to match the price.  And they did such a good job with the cleanup that you wouldn't know they had installed a new furnace that day unless you had seen the old one.  I don't normally write reviews, but my experience with this provider was excellent and I thought they deserved the reference so others turn to them too as an option versus just one of "the big guys."

After our air conditioner died, we solicited several bids for the replacement of the unit.  We got two bids before selecting Ray Welter.  Their price was easily 2/3 the cost for similar products, and without the slick sales gimmickry.  Our sales representative was very informative, and described their products in detail.  He did a great job of outlining the pros and cons of each of their products, and even went so far as to say we probably didn't need the furnace replacement.  We did both anyway, tree huggers that we are, but really appreciated his honesty.  The installation went great with no problems, and we even got a gift box of olive oil and balsamic vinegar which the installer sheepishly presented to us after completion.  Overall, highly recommended family owned company.

I got estimates from three providers. Welter's estimate was $2600 - $800 less than the nearest competitor. (I would not have gone with this bid if they hadn't had a good rating on Angie's List).
I called them to set up an appointment and was shocked that they could appear the following week. Which they did. Right on time.
The work involved running new 220v service from the breaker box 75 feet away, drilling a hole thorugh a 19-inch-thick foundation, and relocating the thermostat.
The installer - just one guy - coordinated the electrician's arrival and the delivery of the various parts from their warehouse. He began at 9am and the job was completed by 2pm.  Absolutely amazing.

Initially, they came out in May to refill the A/C since it wasn't cooling.  We decided to wait and see about further work; wanted to see if the new charge held to determine if it leaked down over winter or had been leaking over the past several years.  In August it was clear that there was a substantial leak.  They came out again at no charge to give me a quick refill to hold out until they could come again and replace the evaporator (where they found several leaks).  I requested an all aluminum evaporator (to prevent formicary corrosion). They spent the time to find a suitable core.  Installation day went well - all was done in two hours.  They came on time.
The only thing I wish could be changed was that the new copper connections were cleaned prior to brazing, and that the system be nitrogen purged prior to brazing to prevent any oxidation inside the new pipes.  However, I'm a perfectionist and it is highly likely that I don't have anything to worry about here.  The system is working great since the repair.  Project cost was $200 less than other bids.

They best part of the story was that Ray Welter was able to adjust their schedule and TODAY were able to come back out and install the new system. Scott--another very knowledgeable technician--arrived at 8:00 am and the new system was delivered by separate truck at 9:00 am. By 11:30 everything was installed and blowing cool air! Did I say the heat index was approaching 100 today?? One of the interesting sidelines to this story was the concern on why I only was able to obtain 13 years life from my last AC system. It was everyone's hunch that the location of the previous outdoor condenser (installed by a different company) was placed to close to an inside corner of the exterior of my house. Two of the three sides were within inches of the house thereby not allowing proper air circulation around the unit. Too much long term stress on the compressor apparently? Scott from Ray Welter made careful adjustments to location of the new condenser unit to ensure lots of clearance! All of the workmanship exceeded my expectations. Ray Welter is a very friendly company.....it is very easy to work with them.

WOW! Yep, WOW! This company is the absolute best. Air Conditioner was giving us a load of problems through the night and our interior temp ballooned to 86, sweat central. Called Ray N Welter Heating & Air Conditioning at 7:30 am and left a voice message (the open at 8 am). Received immediate reply to my voice message and a Rob (the repair tech) was out to my house by 9:30 am. I was having huge problems with the coil, but Rob took care of the job and our house was cooling down in no time. This company is awesome and I will recommend them to everyone. Thanks Rob and Ray N Welter Heating, you really are the best!

Purchase experience:  Repeat customer having furnace installed by Welter 22 years ago replaced with new high-efficiency unit. Also purchased high-efficiency A/C at the same time. Got bids from four different companies. Rick Welter from Ray N. Welter Heating Co. was the only one that didn't play games with the utility company rebates.  The others inflated their prices, then itemized the rebates as "discounts" to make it appear like the customer was getting a real bargain (which was not true).  One company said their bid did not include cost to get city permit (I checked; it would have been an extra $164).  Another wanted $100 extra to reinstall our humidifier.  Installation experience:  With high-efficiency units every home presents its own challenges, including ours where there was just barely enough clearance for the 3" PVC exhaust pipe out the back, but they figured it all out and made it happen.  Andy, Dan, Mike, Keith and Jim were professional and fun to work with.  I was with them the entire time and learned to respect and admire them for their technical and personal skills.  After install experience:  I called the city the next day and an inspector reviewed their work.  He approved everything.  We received the rebate forms in the mail from Welter within two business days of installation.  They filled out all of the required technical information along with my name and address.  All I had to do was fill in my Xcel and CenterPoint account numbers, phone number, e-mail address and sign the forms.  Since the forms are worth $975 in rebates, I made copies of everything before mailing them.  Final remarks regarding Ray N. Welter Heating Co:  Nice work!  Highly recommend.  Thank you and all the best. -Ken

Warren evaluated the situation and recommended a second duct run, giving us the option of a higher cost optoin (through the attic) or lower cost option(through the close).  We opted for the latter.  John arrived promptly on the designated day at 8:30am to start the work and was finished by 10:00am.  This all happened within six calendar days!  Great work, great price, great doing business with them.  I highly recommend them.
