Raphael'S Painting

FIASCO is the only word that decribes this painting job. The owner of Raphael's Painting, Raphael Dulas, assigned this job to one of his workers. He assured me that he was a good painter and always did excellent work.After working on the rooms for fourteen hours the worker quickly gathered his supplies and left without a word of explanation. When I checked the rooms, I discovered he had spilled green paint diagonally across the room on my light beige carpeting. There was paint spilled on my brand new couch, which had been covered. Upon closer inspection, he had gotten paint on the woodwork which was not supposed to be painted, nail holes had not been patched, hardware and shelves in the closet had been painted..they were supposed to be removed and replaced when done. My bathroom sink and towels were tintred green from him "cleaning up". He had apparently tried to clean up the spilled paint but FAILED to do so. I notified Mr. Dulas and he came to inspect and attempted to clean the carpet, but was not able to do so. He offered to remove the carpet and re-carpet the room. The carpet he was willing to pay for was not of equal quality to the carpeting I had and was not a good match. It made no sense to carpet one room which would not match the rest of the carpeting in the house. I decided to have Pergo flooring installed and pay the difference from the price of the carpet to the price of the wood flooring. Mr. Dulas agreed to remove the old carpeting , clean up a painted shelf or replace it, and clean up and complete the job. He took the shelf with him and I never heard from him again.He never returned the shelf. My calls were answered by voice mail and never returned. (The company is now in Minneapolis, but had previously been in Brainerd, Minnesota )
