I left a review of Professional Pest Control 15 years ago. Since I found Richard on Angies List many years ago he has been my 'go to' person for anything having to do with pests at home. He is reliable, honest and effective.

Excellently. The mice already in the house are not escaping (pew) but it shows that the holes have all been filled.

In a couple of hours, Richard identified both the main nest and a satellite nest, as well as a nest of pavement ants under our front doorstep that were starting to expand into the house. He treated all nests, caulked up various holes and cracks where the ants were getting in, and did all this while putting up with my endless questions (I’m a talker and love to learn about people’s jobs). He did an AMAZING job, and our house has been happily ant-free ever since. He’s now my go-to provider for extermination and pest control. 10/10, would hire again!

Richard does an extremely thorough job. He's not cheap, but he is worth it. He is a one man company so you know what you are getting.

Richard Standish found a dead mouse above the hanging basement ceiling and then went outside to find openings where it might have gotten in the house. He found two or three possible holes and caulked them thoroughly. Richard knows exactly what to look for. He has worked for us for at least 20 years and always seems to find the exact problem and fixes it immediately. He works alone and is very responsive.

No sign of mice at end of three week time I was told the treatment would take effect. Mice were back (or replaced) a few weeks later.

I had such a good experience with getting rid of the mice. They just don't catch the mice, but they block all the intrusion points. I gave my friend an birthday gift their service, and she had a great experience.

I have used them twice, and they did a great job. They are not inexpensive. The question on value, is A. They do what they say that they are going to do. They eradicated the mice problem. They guarantee their work. Its an one man operation. The guy really knows what he is talking about.They eradicated bats before, and they did a great job. I will be hiring them again.

He found various spots that might be where they were coming in as it seemed they were outside under or around deck also. He sprayed, dusted in various spots inside and outside and haven't seen an ant since.

We got a call from our neighbor on a Saturday that she'd entered our house to water plants and immediately got bitten by dozens of fleas jumping on her leg. We were out of town, but we decided to find an exterminator who could come to the house right away and our neighbor could let him in. On our third call, the gentleman at Professional Pest Control said he could do it right away. He came over practically immediately, was let in the house, and sprayed everywhere, up and down, to kill hundreds of fleas. We spoke to him on the phone afterwards, and he described what he'd done and said he'd be back Monday morning to check and give us another spray just to be sure. We returned home Sunday and saw no signs of live fleas, but many dead ones. We could sleep in comfort. He came over promptly on Monday and did it all again just to make sure. Our exterminator was prompt, friendly and courteous and very knowledgeable about the flea life cycle and flea prevention. We were both very impressed. We chose chemicals rather than natural prevention because of the size of the infestation. The smell dissipated fairly quickly. There is a 7 month guarantee on the service. The exterminator said to just call if there was a problem. I felt he was very trustworthy and sincere. That was almost a month ago, and so far, so good. The cost was higher because of the weekend time. It was worth it to us, though, to have it over and done. I would recommend this business without exception for an all-around good experience.

We hired Rick twice: in August 2015, he came to our house in the middle of the night (1:30am) to remove two bats that had flown into our living space. One of the bats was hanging on our living room curtains. Rick walked into our house, saw the bat, grabbed it and placed it in a bag (so he could release it outside) like he was picking up an apple and dropping it into a basket. He retrieved a second bat that was in our drop ceiling. He also caulked some visible holes to prevent additional bats from entering our drop ceiling. The second time we hired Rick was in August 2016 after we had a new roof put on our house. This time, Rick sealed our house to prevent bats from entering. He covered holes and provided one-way exits for the bats that were living inside our walls. We had our house sealed in 2008 by another contractor who was A) more expensive and B) did not guarantee the work, asking us to pay an annual "maintenance fee" of $125 if we wanted to ensure that the bats stayed away. Rick provided us with excellent work and advice as well as a 5-year guarantee on his work: he is willing to return and repair/patch holes - no maintenance fee - if the bats return within the next five years. He was highly responsive to our needs and questions and even managed to charm one of our extremely "stranger shy" cats when we were on our porch discussing the job. We've recommended him to friends and will definitely call on him again should we have a need.

Did above; then service provider explained full, guaranteed treatment, should we want to contract with him.  We declined, for now; instead, we moved our cats to the basement, and last winter's mice problem has not recurred.
