We had PPC come out to do a deck addition on our new home. We had received quotes from a few other contractors and PPC was very competitive. The owner, Adam, was great to work with! He communicated extremely well throughout the project! He helped us with deck design, choosing materials, and every other little step along the way. The crew, especially Sarg, were always respectful and worked so hard and fast! One of our sprinkler heads got damaged during the process but they immediately fixed it without any difficulty. It's been nearly a year now since we had the work done, and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Perfect for summer days and the evening sun! Deinitely recommend them for any project you may need done! Thank you guys for making the process so easy for us!

I purchased a house that was completely remodeled by the group in 2013.  It has been over two years and all the tile work is coming up in the house.  It first started in late 2014 when all the tile in our mud room and adjoining powder room started coming up off the floor.  As a result of the defect, Personal Pride Construction came back and replaced all the tile when we were on a trip.  Since then, the remaining tile in our two remaining bathrooms have started to crack and come off the walls.  More specifically, whole pieces of tile in our master bath shower have literally come off the wall in whole pieces.  Needless to say, the whole bathroom will need to be retiled and I would not recommend their company because of the lack of workmanship.

The overall result is great and Personal Pride was very willing to work with us on price to make sure we met our budget. I think with all construction projects there can be hiccups along the way. My husband is a perfectionist and on occasions there were some miscommunications but in the end, Personal Pride worked diligently to resolve any issues. I would recommend involvement with the project by asking questions and review work done regularly to ensure your vision matches the contractors.
I work from home so I was around for the majority of the construction and I felt very comfortable with all the subcontractors used on our project. One note pertaining the subcontractors, on a couple occasions they left the key from the lockbox in our door  in the outside deadbolt which was a minor safety concern for me. This could be because I was home and they didn't feel the need to lock up. Beside that minor issue, all people coming and going in my house were friendly and on time and cleaned up after themselves.

I bought the deal for the Gutter Cleaning Package on one evening.
The next day they were @ my house while I was at work.
When I came home I could see clods of soil/leaves/debris that they had pulled from the gutters and they were much better.

Personal Pride came to our home in August to consult on the roofing project, while they were there we discussed the possiblity of adding a master bathroom to our top level - we have a story and a half, older home in St Louis Park.  From the beginning they were very creative and gave lots of suggestions of ways we could reconfigure the upper level to fit a bathroom, add storage, and add light.
They started the project on September 16th and were 100% finished on November 23rd - although the space became livable again November 8th.  They had estimated the project would take 6-8 weeks, and it was about 95% complete by the last day of the 8th week.  We did run into some unforeseeable problems, but Personal Pride was really great at getting creative and helping us come up with the best solutions.
They had to do quite a bit of custom work, as some of our doors and spaces were not standard sizes.

Overall, I am really pleased with the final product.  As with all construction projects, there were obstacles, which led to additional time and money needed.  I do not believe that Personal Pride could have done anything to prevent those issues for occuring.

I did LOT's of reserch on roofing issues, and had several contractors bid on this roof.  I got connected with Tom at PPC by referal from my neighbor, who is a general contractor himself.

Tom was one of the lowest bids, but not the lowest.  However, I felt FAR more comfortable with Tom after talking extensively with him about the issues at my specific house than any of the lower or equal bids.  Tom awnsered many questions from me, and showed he really knew what he was talking about.  He also made a few very good suggestions.  I specified certain specific materials, and he was happy to accomidate my requests.  Even on the materials I did not specify brand/model, they used high quality stuff (ridge vent, drip edge, valley flashing, etc).

The crew came out and did a very nice job.  After it was done, I had one very minor complaint: a  piece of drip edge was sticking ot about 1/2" due to a old trim nail that had popped out).  It was a purely cosmetic issue that most people I'm sure would have never noticed, but as soon as I let Tom know, he came out and fixed it.

My new roof looks great, and based on the referal from my contractor neighbor and my personal interaction with Tom, I am confident that Personal Pride will stand by their work.  If any of my friends or family need a new roof, I will certainly be recommending Personal Pride without reservation.

Personal Pride Construction subcontracted with a painter. The painter explained about the issues involved, the process and was good at communicating status updates. It appears that the painter did a good job of preparing the exterior wood shake siding and painting it. The painter was responsive to anything I noticed that was missed and resolved issues in a professional manner. Someone from Personal Pride Construction inspected the work. Other than the first meeting and a phone call or email or two I had very little interaction with the general contractor.

It was a small job. Many companies didn't even bother to call me back, but Tom agreed to come over and look at the issues. He gave me a price and I realized he was the kind of guy who'd get it done. He actually completed it a week ahead of what we agreed on--terrific! The workmanship is great and roof looks like it should.

I've used Personal Pride for several projects and found the quality of their work, their customer service, and overall professionalism to be outstanding. They entirely rebuilt my century old detached garage and turned it into a year round heated workshop, they knocked out a wall in my dining room and installed a new French door, and they repaired a leak in my roof. They were easy to work with, polite, on time, and they kept the job site very clean. They took obvious pride in their work and always made sure I was happy. They are highly skilled craftsmen who pay great attention to details. I have recommended Personal Pride to two different friends who have used them for projects on their homes, and both have been extremely happy with the quality of the work and the very fair price. I would recommend Personal Pride to anyone. I will definitely be using them again.

On time, did thorough job. Price went up from $900 to $1,600, but it was a lot more work than originally described. We're confident that the work was done well. Contractor took photos of opened wall and damaged area to show us what he found. (We were out of town for first day or two and Tom kept in touch to keep us informed of progress. Tom was on job site the first day only, but stayed in touch with his crew and homeowner.)

Work began 1 1/2 weeks later than expected, was completed promptly (three days for dismantle, repair, then roof). Estimate was not complete/detailed. I informed them of extensive lead paint which was already falling off the house. NO LEAD SAFETY OR CONTAINMENT WAS PRACTICED. Weak attempts at cleanup during and after, but not in accordance with OSHA. I have been offered line-item discounts for my personal expenses and time to clean up. So far the equivalent of 6.5 8-hour days and 3 HEPA shop-vac filters, plus interior cleaning and my exposure. I spent hundreds of hours making my yard play-friendly for my young daughter, and I don't know that I will ever be comfortable with her being in the yard, ALL BECAUSE NOT ONE OF THE CONTRACTORS TOOK THE SIMPLE, QUICK AND EASY STEP OF LAYING OUT TARPS OR SHEET PLASTIC PRIOR TO BEGINNING WORK. I did not receive a Lead Safety flyer published by OSHA which is required by federal law when any major work done on a house built before 1978.
Response from Personal Pride Construction Ltd
"OH, WHAT A GREAT CUSTOMER. THE REASON FOR WRITING THE RESPONSE IS SHE STILL OWES ME $4000. HER ENTIRE SOFFIT, FASCIA, AND ROOF BOARDS WERE ROTTEN. I TOLD HER WHAT IT WOULD COST TO REPLACE AND SHE AGREED TO GO FORWARD WITH JOB. WE DID THE WORK AND THEN SHE SAID THERE WAS LEAD ALL OVER HER YARD AND SAID SHE WOULD NOT PAY ME ANYTHING AND WANTED TO SUE. I CALLED HER BLUFF AND SAID GO FOR IT, I TOLD HER TO GET A LAWYER AND SUE ME. THIS IS HER WAY OF TRYING ANYTHING SO SHE DOESN'T HAVE TO PAY. SHE SAID SHE WOULD PAY 2000 DOLLARS ABOUT 8 MONTHS AGO. I STILL HAVE NOT BEEN PAID AND EITHER HAS THE PAINTING CONTRACTOR. SHE WILL NOT ANSWER MY CALLS OR LETTERS FROM A DEBT COLLECTOR. FROM THE START OF THE JOB SHE WAS LOOKING FOR SOMETHING FOR NOTHING AND IT WORKED OUT VERY WELL FOR HER."

I cannot say enough good things about this company and it's main carpenter "Matt". I am a stay at home mom with two young children so I was with these people everyday for about 5 weeks. They are sweet, kind, talented and professional. Matt's wood working skills and attention to detail is amazing. "Horse", the other employee and Tom, the owner were as much of a pleasure to deal with. They were sweet to my children, interacting with them and they did EXCELLENT work on everything they did. The communication was great (and fun) and the price was right on the bid. I can't think of one thing I would have asked them to do differently. Even the people that they had doing the things they didn't (HVAC, etc.) were wonderful too. I would hire and refer these guys out to any and everyone without a moments hesitation. They sincerely want to please you and make you happy - it's just great. These guys Mother's raised them right! :)
