The service crew was fast, friendly, efficient and honest with me. There was NO charge for them to do the quick diagnostic scan. Another place I called before going to Pep Boys said it would cost around 100.00 for them to check it.

I waited in the lounge for one hour and the service was completed.

I take my cars to Pep Boys for all my automotive needs. My favorite service is the Early Bird Oil Change--just $19.99 if you schedule an oil change Tuesday through Thursday. I have had Pep Boys service my brakes, new tires, alignment, new steering/rack and pinion, and other major repairs. I would trust Pep Boys - Shingle Creek Parkway store for any major or minor repair on my car. The work is done fast, done right, and the price is fair.

See above. Be suspicious if someone calls you with an estimate, then keeps calling back after finding additional things wrong (adding to the price). Once you're into it for so much, they figure you'll spend an extra X dollars more, to make sure it's fixed for good. I suspect this is an old trick.

On my way to work, my 2000 Hyundai Elantra wagon began running rough. I returned home and called Pep Boys to have the car towed from my house to the Brooklyn Center location. They began to look for the problem and found that someone had spliced the injector harness. Tao called and said that part was quite expensive so he would look for the part on a junked Hyundai. He found one and it saved me several hundred dollars. They also replaced the spark plugs and fuel injector seals. The car still did not run well. Tao went online and talked with other mechanics who had worked on Hyundai cars with similar problems. The computer diagnosis was not showing any problems. They tried a new ignition coil and the car ran well, so they install the new coil. Although the diagnosis and repair of my vehicle took over one week, I believe that the correct items were fixed and the car will last me several more years. Unfortunately, someone cleaned up for a VIP visit and the old parts were thrown away. My only complaint, and I have this complaint with every auto service place, is no one cleans off the steering wheel, gear shift and anything else that got grimy from the mechanics.

I CALLED THEM and THEY WERE AVAILABLE TO SEE ME THAT DAY. THERE WAS A MINOR MISUNDERSTANDING REGARDING THE PRICE, BUT THEY DID CORRECT THE SITUATION. THEY DID THE WORK WHEN PROMISED and MADE ME AWARE OF A PROBLEM CAUSED BY ANOTHER REPAIR SHOP.
