"Recently we discovered comments you posted on Angie’s list on March 14, 2007 regarding our company. We were surprised that you posted your comments 4 years after the remodeling project was complete and that you did not communicate with us directly about your disappointment. Because we take pride in our work and our professionalism, we reviewed project notes and communications to identify what problems may have disappointed you. We found the following: The cabinet installation was delayed by two weeks due to (1) the cabinet shop supervisor suffered a heart attack and (2) the general contractor did not have the space ready for cabinet installation as planned. Because we were the designers of your project and not the builders or installers, these circumstances were beyond our control. We did, however, fall short of our responsibility to inform you promptly when these circumstances developed. We did apologize at that time and followed through to the end of the project with timely communication. Our records show that our Senior Designer monitored the project to the end, did a final review, supervised the completion of the punch list, and that all the details were approved and finished to your satisfaction. Sometime after the project was complete, you asked us to look at the finish on the bathroom cabinetry. The Senior Designer and I responded immediately. We found surface dirt and a sticky substance on an area of the cabinet’s surface near the bathroom exhaust vent and determined that the problem was not finish failure but a cleaning/maintenance issue. We sincerely want to know why you were dissatisfied with our customer service and in what way we could have served you better. What can we do now? Sincerely, Mary Jane Pappas"
