From Large To Small We Do It All WE OFFER CONTRACTOR PRICING TO HOMEOWNERS North Star Glass Industries, Inc. is a third generation business located in the Minneapolis suburb of Coon Rapids. While our location and business as grown in the 42 years since Mike Casey started North Star Glass in 1967, our underlying business philosophy remains the same - to provide quality products and services at reasonable prices. Today, North Star Glass is the manufacturer of North Star HG (Heavy Glass) Shower Doors. In addition to residential and commercial glass work, North Star Glass also sells and installs bath enclosures (both standard and custom), all types of custom mirrors and mirror doors. North Star Glass offers "Same Day" service on most insulated glass orders. In addition, all beveling and hole drilling is done in our shop. Our products, services and reasonable prices has allowed us to retain a lot of loyal customers that started shopping with us shortly after Mike Casey opened the doors in 1967. Bad. No low e glass detected and no argon plug found. Talked to owners Tim and Bonnie Casey and asked for refund. They never returned my call and no refund given.

North Star Glass provided an estimate that was about $10-20 cheaper than another glass company.  They were not only courteous during our phone conversations, they were friendly.  When an employee came to our house to measure the dimensions of the window that needed to be replaced, my husband was home.  When I spoke with him later, he said, "He was a nice guy and seemed highly competent."  The installation of the window that occurred about 2.5 weeks later was excellent as well.
I am completely satisfied with the service I received.

They made our bathroom mirror and had it delivered as planned.
The mirror was defective and had to be replaced.  From the time they came out to check the mirror to the time they finally delivered it was 7 weeks.  I realize it was a busy time for them, but I still expect them to communicate with me and schedule a delivery date. I always had to call them about updating me on the delivery status.  The date they originally scheduled me for - they were a no show. Not very professional.

Although very upset with the end product as it was not exactly the same as the sample we left them (product they produced had a very slight bevel on it, the original did not, this replacement glass was one of a 3 pc. and needed to be exact match, or at least better than was done), they also charged about $10. more than was originally quoted.  We would consider giving them another try if need be in the future. I have received good product from this company in the past.

I got 4 estimates for the shower door and return for a custom shower (essentially an L shape with the short end sitting on top of tub surround and the door in the long end). The estimates ranged from about 1600 to 3200. Not only had Northstar the best offer, it was also flexible in terms of installation (all others wanted to use U channels at the bottom, only Northstar was willing to use brackets which we found more esthetically pleasing) and also worked with us on finding the hardware we desired. Communicating with the company was a bit frustrating, however, as they seemed a bit disorganized every time I called. Also, I was glad I went through the order and accompanying drawing carefully as the wrong hardware was specified on it and I needed to call them to get that corrected. The installation was flawless, they came right on time and did a very good job.

The sales people sent us home with several samples of glass so we could select the glass at our home. There was no charge for the samples. When we selected the glass we called to tell them we wanted the glass cut horizontal to maximize the "wavy" characteristic of the glass. The first batch was cut vertically. We had to wait an extra week to get the second batch because their machine broke down. The second batch was perfect.
