Owner came out to look at our roof because we had some water leaking. He said the roof was showing it's age. There were holes causing the leaking because nails had popped up. He said he could fix the holes and it should likely get us another year or 2 or he could do the whole roof. We opted to have the holes fixed so that we could have a year to save up some money to offset some of the costs of replacing the whole roof. A week later there was a heavy rainfall and there were no leaks. We appreciated that he had an alternative to replacing the whole roof for now.

JR came and assessed my roof. He was very honest with describing to me what my real world options were, and did not try and up-sell me into services I did not need. They did a great job repairing my near end-of-life roof and I will definitely be hiring them again in the next year or two for a full roof replacement.

We had a great experience with Nokomis Roofing. I called the owner, JR, when our roof started leaking and he was out within an hour or two to put down some bentonite that would stop leaks instantly. The bentonite only lasts for so long so we got on his list for more permanent repairs. He came out and patched several large areas of the roof and also sealed along the edge of the roof where there is a metal gutter system that he thought might be cutting into the modified bitumen and causing leaks. JR did a really thorough job of checking over the roof for areas that needed repair and sent me lots of photos of his work. He also really takes the time to explain what he is doing and why. Rates are very reasonable, he spent probably 12-15 hours on our roof over several days and this cost $2300. Compare that with $1200 that we paid a different company 2 years ago for 2 guys to come out for a couple hours and patch a couple of spots where nails had poked up. And the other guys completely missed some big problems on the roof that absolutely needed to be fixed. We would definitely recommend Nokomis Roofing.

JR, the owner of Nokomis Roofing, came quickly after I called about my flat roof issue over my house's addition. It had a long tear in it and was starting to look old and in need of replacing. He thoroughly explained my roofing options and recommended a white roofing material that is both long-lasting and is better at resisting the sun's heat. If you've ever had a flat roof made of rolled black rubber, you know how warm the rooms underneath can get in the summer. He gave me a quote on the spot, which was well within my budget and expectation, so I hired him then and there. His contract was short and easy to understand, and he didn't apply any pressure at all to sign up his firm. Shortly after hiring Nokomis Roofing, his crew came out and did the demo. They quickly hauled the old roof away, so I could get a quote for rebuilding my deck and not have anything in the way. Also, they always made sure to cover the roof with tarps while the job was in progress. And when they completed the roof, they ensured the site was clean and free of any nails or debris. JR and his crew were always professional and came when they said they would. His company got the job done quickly, especially considering he was fighting against a very raining summer in Minneapolis. I will definitely have Nokomis Roofing do any future roof work on my house. On a side note, JR was not just professional but very friendly and easy to talk to, and his knowledge and experience in the roofing industry was both wide and deep. Thanks Nokomis Roofing! I have actually had this company come and rake my roof during the winter months for at least about 2-3 of years now. I've had ice dams and initially contacted Nokomis roofing when the problem first surfaced and I had water inside the window frame (between the outer siding and the inside walls). When I initially called, JR came out immediately (it was in the evening hours as I recall) and got all the snow and ice dam off my roof. I've had him do maintenance roof raking ever since. He (or one of his employees) will come rake my roof whenever  there is 2 inch snowfall. So nice to come home from work after a heavy snowfall and not have to worry about ice dam water damage when I see the work has already been done. When I have been home and see JR or one of his staff, they are always very friendly and professional. I suspect my roof will need replacing soon and I will definitely be using this company when the time comes!

JR at Nokomis Roofing did an excellent job on my roof.  When my dormer flat roof blew off during high winds last week, he responded immediately, assessed the damages and presented and explained all my options.  He began emergency repairs immediately and began the rebuild a few days later and completed that  in a very short time frame.  He was prompt, courteous and reliable.  His price was extremely fair and his work is superior. He has been invited back to now do a total shingle replacement on the house and garage.  My chimney also came tumbling down from the high winds and JR called an acquaintance that responded immediately and fixed the chimney. I highly recommend him.

Excellently. The owner is a great guy who takes pride in his work. He also shovels walkways that he has brought snow down ion to.

We have a flat roof on our home and have been plagued with small leaks we attempted to repair ourselves. We called a number of different roofing companies, and J.R. was the only one that came through for us.  He came out to evaluate our roof the day I called him and was here the next day to do repairs. He was very thorough and helpful, straightforward and honest. When we put a new roof on our home next year we will definitely be using Nokomis Roofing! I would recommend and will be using his services again.

Job took a little longer than expected due to off and on rain early this summer, but very happy with the result. JR takes great personal care to make sure job is done right - no shortcuts. He did a few extra things that were not in contract and much appreciated. He stands by his work and will come out to building once per year to check on condition. We would definitely use JR again.

I called and left a message on a Saturday. JR called right away Monday morning and promised to come out at 2 that same afternoon.  He showed up precisely on time and examined the roof.  He didn't try to exaggerate the problem or sell me anything I  did not need. His employees came the next day and did the repair. Despite JR's concern, the shingles even matched! Although I don't really want to have to re-roof, when the time comes I know it will be okay- I'll just call Nokomis Roofing!

Went well no problems.

We had an emergency situation with a leaking flat roof that happened during a severe rain storm last spring. From the very first contact with JR, he put us at ease. He was professional, personable and provided an incredibly detailed assessment of our roof and what he would do to correct the situation and prevent future issues - and his estimate was quite reasonable compared to the other bids we had received. JR performed most of the work himself with one or two assistants who were also extremely competent and a pleasure to have working on our home. He checked in with us often to see how we were feeling about the progress and the job he was doing. In the end, I feel like we got an outstanding roof, incredible customer service, and I would highly recommend JR to anyone who needs a roofing job done right and at a realistic price!

During very heavy rains we discovered a leak in our roof. We called and arranged an appoint. They came out and diagnosed the issue as poor work on a previous roofing around the chimney. We accepted the bid and scheduled a time for the work to be done. Our chimney was not a standard size and therefore required custom made flashing. It took a while to install but ultimately the job was successful. We were very impressed with their professionalism and their quick response despite it being a very vusy time for them.
