NEWTON'S TREE & STUMP SERVICE

Randy Newton is the owner and he did the actual work. He is from the "old school" line of thought that being in business is to provide a service to his customers and leave them satisfied with a job well done. And that he did that extremely well.
He showed up on time to give a quote and discuss exactly what we wanted done. Both my wife and I talked to Randy and told him what the issues were and what we wanted done. There were even some things that he said were not necessary and explained the situation to our understanding. He was very candid about what would have been excessive and we felt he was honest and did not pad his bill.
I will recomend Randy Newton, a Certified Arborist, to anyone that needs tree work done. I hold his workmanship in the very highest regard and his personality is just an added extra benefit. His handshake is firm, his smile is genuine, and I got the impression of a person making a living doing what they enjoy, doing it well and not just lining their pockets.

Randy responded very promptly to my initial and subsequent inquiries. He came out and gave us a bid and then completed the work in a timely manner. Randy was very pleasant and professional. His price was competitive. We would recommend him to others for this type of work.

I met Randy when he was doing some work for a neighbor a few doors down - I asked him to stop by and give me an estimate on trimming a red maple in my back yard that I believe has never had a professional trimming. Randy quoted $300 and said that he could fit me in within the week. True to his word he called and said he could arrive Monday AM. Randy, the owner - did the work himself as in he climbed my tree- with a helper on the ground. The tree looks great! My neighbors have commented several times how much healthier the tree looks. Half of our large maple tree broke off on Saturday of the Labor Day weekend. I called Randy who we had used before and he came out early the next day (Sunday). He is very prompt, professional and obliging. He removed the large branch, trimmed the tree to prevent it happening again and removed a few branches from two more trees. The price seems very high to me, but it was a Sunday, a holiday weekend and an emergency. I was thankful he was able to help me so quickly.

Randy carefully removed a large stump that was located in a difficult position next to existing concrete steps, a driveway and adjacent tree roots. He was timely in providing the quote and the service. And he cleaned up the job site afterwards.

Everything went well. They were on time, did what they said they'd do, and were flexible. I would use them again in the future.

I called Randy for an estimate, and he promptly returned my call and appeared the next day exactly on time for the estimate. He quoted me a price for the removal of a horrible tree I had mostly pruned down to stumps. It was a 40+ yr old Buckthorn tree, which is designated as a restricted noxious weed in Minnesota and is currently illegal to import, sell, or transport them. They are nonnative and crowd out native plants. He also removed another old stump in the same location, as well as 3 bushes that were also problematic, and 2 nearly dead shrubs. Along with the removals, he also ground the stumps, removed other debris, and resurfaced the area so it's now flat and ready to reclaim for new landscaping. Randy completed the work the next day while I was at work, and I was delighted to come home and see the area he transformed. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome. He's knowledgeable, courteous, honest, and very professional. I would hire him again in a minute.

Randy returned my call the day I called him. He came over to see the project the next day and provided a competitive bid. He did the work according to our schedule. The work was perfect and everything was cleaned up. He called later to ask if we were satisified and gave us advice on a couple of other things. Absolutely great. We will definitely use him again.

He was very affordable. It was a referral from a neighbor. After I called, he came out and gave an estimate within 24 hours of my calling him. He was a local guy so he was just a few blocks away. We really like to use the locals as much as we can. Within a couple of weeks he came out and did the trimming. I wasn't around when he did it, but it looked clean and he did a great job. I referred him to another neighbor and he has done some landscaping work for her and she has been very happy with him. I didn't use him for landscaping so I guess I can't really say what other things he does. I would definitely use him again if I needed him.

I originally called Newton's to trim the tree off my phone wires. Even though it was buckthorn, I was hoping to save it. It was all I had to shade the back of the house. Randy agreed to that job, but when he began working, he noticed right away that the tree was so ready to fall down that he was afraid of pulling the wires down by mistake. After a consultation and negotiation of price, I agreed to let him remove the tree and what was left of the rotting stump. I appreciated Randy's concern and honesty, and felt they charged me reasonably for the change in plans.

He was exceptional to work with. He was able to provide an estimate the first day I called. Furthermore, the price was the lowest of the 5 tree service vendors I called. Many of the other vendors were the ones offering coupons & even despite the coupon, the price came in lower. He returned all calls timely. And the work was done is record time. Great result. Got exceptional value for the $$.

The entire process was a pleasant experience. From initial call, meeting to bid the job, work day through completion. Randy was professional and a pleasure to do business with for my tree removal job. I will definitely do business with him again and recommend him to others.

Great job! He gave an estimate, returned in about a week to complete the work at the estimated price. The priced for removing the larger tree was $175 and he added the small tree for just $25. Randy also disposed of a pile of branches that had accumulated from previous storms at no extra charge and advised us on future work to be done, including free topping of trees by electric company before removal. Very satisfied.

Absolute perfection in every way! Did the bid sooner than expected, did the job sooner than expected, neighbors extremely happy with the clean up of their yard, polite, professional, and prompt.

Both jobs went very well, no damage to flowers below or the roof. The large limb was very high but they did a very good job. The stump removal was perfect. Mr. Newton even raked the area smooth. I highly recommend him.

It went well. No problems. He did what we agreed upon, plus hauled away the large slice of a tree that I had in my garage. Clean up was all that I could ask for.

RANDY CAME BY IMMEDIATELY AND CUT DOWN THE LILACS. HE CAME BACK LATER WITH A DITCH WITCH AND GROUND OUT THE STUMPS. IT WAS ALONG A FENCE LINE BUT HE GOT IT ALL. NONE OF IT HAS TRIED TO SPROUT IN THE PAST YEAR, WHICH IS AMAZING FOR A SCRAGGLY LILAC LIKE THIS. RANDY CHIPPED AND REMOVED ALL OF THE LILACS AS WELL AS TWO SMALL SAPLINGS AND A 6 AROUND TREE I CUT DOWN ON MY OWN. MY NEIGHBOR WATCHED THIS HAPPEN WITH ME AND ASKED RANDY TO CUT DOWN AN OVERGROWN ARBORVITAE. RANDY HAD IT CHIPPED UP AND GONE WITHIN A DAY FOR $300. SPEEDY WORK, VERY THOROUGH AND A GOOD PRICE.
