"(member name removed), thank you for your honest review and thoughtful analysis. We are always concerned about making sure expectations with clients are realistic and understood by everyone involved. And, as you mentioned, there are times when we do “push back” by raising concerns, but we do so only to protect our clients where aesthetics, functionality and value may be at risk. I’m glad your experience was so positive. Tom Myrick Director of Marketing & Client Relations"
"As the owner, I appreciate (removed member name) concern and do apologize for an experience that was not our normal client experience. A new but "experienced" project manager who had been running his own remodeling company for 7 years came on board with all the right credentials and kept reporting that internally that everything was great, when it was not. He was soon released and I am truly sorry about the early lack of project managers attention and extended timeline as this is definitely not our normal experience. Our normal client experience can much better be evaluated at www.guildquality.com Regards, John Murphy, Owner"
The demolition of the existing kitchen began as planned and the project completed before the contracted completion date. The site superintendent from Murphy Bros coordinated all activities with other crafts and subcontractors as needed. Murphy Bros's sub contractors and vendors were all capable and professional. The quality of the sub-contractor and vendor work was excellent. The sub-contractors seemed to know the scope and schedule for the project. The arrived ready to work and their work was completed without delay.
The quality of all the work was excellent and there was very little rework. The inspections by city inspectors all were completed without a hitch.
The designer remained active during the project double checking to see that things were going as planned and clarifying any design issues. She was available to assist in picking out accessories such as light fixtures. She was available to review any possible changes that were considered and worked with us to evaluate a change from design, cost and schedule perspectives. Communication via e-mail or phone was fast and easy.
We stayed in our condo throughout the remodeling project. We maintained use of the refrigerator and microwave oven. All of our requirements were accepted and worked around by Murphy Bros.
We are now enjoying our newly remodeled kitchen and the improvements that we desired.
We will certainly recommend Murphy Bros be considered for similar work and will certainly talk to Murphy Bros when we undertake another remodeling project. The team formed between the designer, ourselves, and the construction group led to a successful remodeling project, meeting everyone's expectations, and a great kitchen.
"WHILE THE MEMBER HAS SOME VALID POINTS, IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT SHE DECIDED TO POST THIS COMMENT NEAR THE END OF HER PROJECT BUT WHILE IT WAS STILL BEING COMPLETED. WE DO TAKE ISSUE WITH THE DESIGN COMMENT AS WE DO HAVE EMAILS TO THE MEMBER THAT EXPLICITLY POINT OUT THE DESIGN CHALLENGES THAT SHE WRITES ABOUT AND OUR RECOMMENDATIONS TO FIX THEM PRIOR TO THE JOB BEING STARTED. AS THE PROJECT WAS ALREADY NEAR THEIR STATED BUDGET, SHE ELECTED NOT TO PURSUE OUR RECOMMENDATIONS AS THAT INVOLVED INCREASING THE SCOPE AND COSTS OF COMPLETING THE PROJECT. OTHER THAN THE DESIGN CHALLENGES THAT THE OWNER ELECTED NOT TO ADDRESS, THE FIT AND FINISH OF THE PROJECT WAS STELLAR. FOR 2 YEARS AFTER THE PROJECT WE FOLLOWED UP AND KEPT IN TOUCH WITH THE MEMBERS PER OUR PROMISE TO OUR CLIENTS."
"UNFORTUNATLEY, THIS OWNER FELT THAT AFTER SHE APPROVED A FIXED PRICE FOR A DEFINED PROJECT THAT SHE PRE-APPROVED, THAT SHE COULD WRITE THESE COMMENTS. 14.5 HOURS COMMITTED TO THIS PROJECT TO DEFINE, STAGE, PICK-UP MATERIALS, DO WORK AND CLEAN-UP. PLUS MATERIALS PROVIDED BY US FOR PAINT AND REPAIRS. $795 IS TOO MUCH? NEARLY ALL OF OUR 1000'S OF OUR PAST CUSTOMERS WOULD DISAGREE. WE HAPPILY PROVIDE AN EXTENSIVE PAST CLIENT LIST!!"
