I left a message and he responded quickly; said he would come that day.  He came at noon. He cleared it and then checked other gutters which were okay.  There was a "wad" of elm seeds and other debris right at the top.  He didn't charge although I know that the problem occurred after he had done the work in early June because I had checked it several times after the first cleaning.

We got a flyer and responded by phone to the ad.  It stated "We flush and unplug downspouts."  We have had 3 companies who did all right with cleaning the gutters, but not the downspouts so the gutters overflow anyway.  He was in the area and came over about 6pm to give us the estimate.  We explained the downspout problem and said we wanted to be present when he did the work. He decided to do it that night.  We stayed outside to see how he did the work.  In one problem area he had to dismantle the elbow in a high gutter to clear it. He was thorough and careful and didn't seem to mind the surveillance.  He kept the ladder out of the flower beds and cleaned up the debris (which was considerable).  It took almost an hour.

He did a great job, I was very pleased.  We had a squirrel problem in our chimney and he cleared it out and put a screen on top and we haven't had any problems since.
