I would highly recommend Mark Mercer!  I have worked with MANY contractors on our project and he definitely stood out as the best one.  Not only did he do a great job on the work itself and show up exactly when he said he would, he was so friendly and appreciative of the work, something that I have found lacking in many other contractors that I have dealt with.  I don't have one complaint or suggestion for improvement, all went perfectly!!!

He worked for me for only a day, and I had to let him go. He had horrible customer service. He only looks out for himself.

Mark (and helper) hung the sheetroock. They were quick and efficient, no muss, no fuss, no mess to speak of. However, the sub-contractors used for mudding, and sanding, were not as conscientious as Mark had been. This part of the project was a bit messy and the sub-contractors did not clean up after themselves very well. The sander made some attempts to control his mess, and he did hang some plastic, but we still found dust everywhere after he finished. I got the feeling that the sub-contractors performed more commercial work than residential remodeling, as they seemed to treat the home more like a new construction job site where someone working after them would take care of the clean up. The sub-contractor who did the finishing work was also excellent (he actually repaired some seams that had cracked after the original mud/tape job).
All in all a very good experience with Mark. Even with the minor issues we encountered, Mark was readily available, stood behind his work (and that of his sub-contractors), and helped to ensure that the finished product was everything that had been promised. Again, some slight hiccups, but very courtesy and professional. We would use his services again. As with any remodeling project ask specific questions of your contractor. We thought we had, and fortunately we were on all the same page regarding expectation of the finished product, but we should have found out more about the sub-contractors, and how they work. Remodeling projects generally require more setup time, more protection of floors, furnishings and adjacent rooms, and clean up time each day. Time is money, and contractors are no exception. If you want/or demand a higher level of clean up or project mess control, be up front about your expectations, and expect to pay a bit more for the extra time and care.

We contacted Mark for an estimate to drywall, mud/tape our unfinished basement. He came to our place to give an estimate in a very quick time frame, and also provided us with an estimate when he promised. His estimate seemed very reasonable to us and based on his timeliness, great communication with us, we decided to hire Mark. We were very pleased not only with the work that was done, but by how great he was to work with. Just a great guy, which is a bonus when you are hiring a contractor. The job itself took as long as he had expected and the quality of the work was excellent. We would definitely recommend him to others, and will use him again if we are ever in need of drywall work!

Mark was courteous and professional. He installed the drywall in a couple of hours and his taper took care of the rest. These two guys have a lot of years of experience and you could tell from the results and I was pleasantly surprised to find very little dust from the sanding, which goes to show what that experience will buy you.

The work was excellent. My husband thought that the price was a little high, but he thinks that all prices are high.

I am a home remodeler and rental property manager. I work with a LOT of contractors for every service imaginable and Mark is one of the best. I met Mark when looking for a solution to the badly damaged walls in a large foreclosed home I was remodeling. Another contractor had backed out on me without notice and I was behind schedule with a renter move in date fast approaching. Mark came out to the home, examined the work needed, gave me multiple options as to how to approach the problem with a broad spectrum of prices dependent on how I wanted to proceed. I hired him to do all of the work and he started that SATURDAY to help me get back on schedule. The work is high quality and I plan to work with Mark on all of my future projects. I met with 4 different drywallers on this project. Truth be told you might be able to find someone who can do a project for a couple bucks less, but then you'll have to call Mark to come and fix the poor work that was done.

It was excellent work by an accomplished and knowledgeable team. They arrived promptly as scheduled over the course of 3 different scheduled batches of work. They worked efficiently and cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. As a former construction industry employee, I can say without a doubt that this crew is very professional and does excellent work.

Mark and his three man crew arrived basically on time (first was on time, fourth within an hour). They were polite and courteous, and took great pains to avoid the necessity of tromping through the house with powder-encrusted shoes. I checked up on the work about 3.5 hours in, and they'd already finished more than half the work. When I returned at night, the key was where I left it, the work area was fairly neat (although in need of a serious vacuuming out). My impression was that KL Drywall has cherry picked some very good crews. The price listed was KL's price; I don't know what hiring them individually would have cost.

Mark and his crew did an excellent job. They were prompt, polite, and cleaned-up after themselves. Definitely recommend.
