It WAS going ok until I received my vehicle back from the service department. There was a deep scratch on the front of the vehicle hood, greasy fingerprints on the grill and an oil streak on the top part of my windshield. I cleaned my vehicle before taking it to this dealership for service so I am certain it was no grease or that scratch. Well of course no one knew what or how it happened. The service advisor got the service technician to my vehicle and asked him about it....right in front of me! Now that was awkward. Then came a manager. I know accidents happen but if I had not done a walk around my vehicle, it would have cost me.
We got the scratch repair scheduled for the next day. The service advisor said it would take about 6 hours. I told him that I would get someone to pick me up and bring me back.
The next morning I return. We are doing some paperwork and the dealership starts asking for insurance and driver license. Puzzled, I asked why; thinking they were going to file my insurance. They said for the rental vehicle. I told them they said the repair would take 6 hours and I have someone on the way to pick me up. They obviously had not communicated.
Later in the day I get a call from the service advisor letting me know that my vehicle won't be ready until sometime tomorrow. Again poor communication and lack of knowledge on the repair. I asked what was going on and I could only get vague answers. That was because my vehicle repair was sent to some body shop somewhere else. I was not given a choice.
There was no rental vehicle available at that time so I would wait until one returned. One did and the rental process was terrible. No one could make a decision (seemed scared to) and the dealership was more worried about their vehicle than anything else. ( I wish they had been that worried about mine the same way). They were adamant about me returning the vehicle with the same amount of gas in it.
The next day my vehicle is ready. The dealership could not answer my questions about the repair. They refused to give me any paperwork on the repair to MY VEHICLE. In my opinion, Luther Brookdale GMC wanted to keep everything secret.
I got my vehicle and left. I have talked with General Motors. I called the dealership and asked to speak with the general manager by name. His voicemail said he was out of town until 04-11-2014. The receptionist obviously was not aware. Poor communication again.
If you go to Luther Brookdale GMC or anywhere for service consider this. Do a walk around with the service advisor to document any damage before service is done and another walk around after service.
On the service department: We brought our latest vehicle in for an engine repair under warranty. Initially they weren't offering a loaner car though we were going to be without a car for at least a day. My husband explained that it was unsettling that I was not going to have a car while he was working, and they agreed to give us a loaner car. When the engine repair was finished, we picked up our car and found that they waived our deductible. We were pretty happy about that.
