Wonderful people! Warm, conversational, thorough, and the shop invites browsing. Very pleasant. Price seemed a bit steep for a repair, but I know the parts are hard to find, so I don't mind too much. When I picked it up, the employee took a phone call regarding shipping an item that took several minutes while I waited. I felt that?with a desk, pen & paper within 2 meters of the payment device, on a cordless phone?she could've told the other party that she'd call them back to arrange details. I'd paid for 15 minutes of parking (I didn't think more should be required), so I felt a little anxious by the time she terminated the call. But I have to say overall, this seems like a wonderful privately owned business with whom I would absolutely trust my classic light fixtures. And?given their ages?I will most certainly do again! :-)
Description of Work: Perfectly repaired a classic touch lamp

The staff at Lightworks are very professional and knowledgeable. They provided me with several different options for the repair work. I love their wide display of antique glass shades. They also have great reproductions of antique light fixtures and shades. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: I have used Lightworks on two separate occasions in the past few months. Both times I have brought in antique lamps that no longer were working. The first repair required new wiring and a new fixture. This repair was over $100 but they really improved the appearance of the lamp. I was ready to spend the same amount of money on my second lamp, but it required only an extension to the socket which cost less than $10.

This was my first time using Lightworks, and their service was excellent. I brought the lamp in expecting to have to return to pick it up, but the owner Kathryn Dailey offered to have her repair guy fix it while I waited. It took him maybe twenty minutes to repair the lamp. The price that Kathryn charged was very close to the price she quoted me when I had called her a few months ago. I especially appreciate the good service considering that they specialize in custom-built and antique lighting fixtures and this was a very small piece of business for them. Kathryn treated me as if I was her best customer -- rare to find that kind of service today.
Description of Work: Lightworks replaced the switch on a table lamp that is attached to an end table.

They did a great job. They told me it would take 2-3 weeks and they had it done in 2-3 days. They did an excellent job with this lamp and I would highly recommend them to others.
Description of Work: They repaired a faulty switch on a lamp I've had for about 40 years.

The couple that owns and runs this business (and their little dog) are a delight. They can repair and restore antique/old lamps. They have also refurbished two old light fixtures for me previously. They seem to enjoy their work and trying to make the customer happy. They are knowledgeable and provided me with some additional information about my lamp. Previously when I could not find the light fixture I wanted, the owner asked me to describe what I was looking for. She then took me to the back and showed me some parts which her husband then put together to make the light I imagined.

We purchased a home that had gorgeous copper & brass exterior lights that had not been properly maintained. The copper light fixtures had broken panes of glass which allowed water to get into them which froze resulting in burst seams. Lightworks repaired the seams, installed new electrical components and added drainage to the fixtures. The solder and repair work was done beautifully. Our brass fixtures required new lamp sockets which they replaced. A previous Angie's list member gave Lightworks a B for price. While Lightworks may not be the least expensive service, I believe they provide the best value. Our bronze exterior fixtures would cost at least $2,500 per fixture and the brass fixtures would cost at least $500 each to replace. We wanted to make sure that we used the best qualified company to fix these high-end lights and we found that with Lightworks. This is the place to go if you need to fix an antique, crystal chandelier or any type of light fixture!
Description of Work: Repaired high end exterior lights and sconces.
