LENNAR HOMES

We went with Lennar primarily due to their prices and the location. Their slogan is "Everything's Included", but you quickly find out, $80,000 in upgrades later, that everything isn't included! Our main complaints so far have been that they essentially do not allow ANY custom changes to their floorplans that they don't already offer as an upgrade. For example, we wanted to change the size of a window to be the same as other rooms in the house, but they said this was not possible because they are not a custom builder. This just means more work and money for us to put it in ourselves the day after we close. The process of getting price quotes on upgrades for things like wood floors and a stone fireplace which they do offer took several WEEKS to just get a price so we could decide if we wanted/could afford those upgrades. Attention to detail appears lacking initially anyway, in that when we first reviewed the floorplans at our request, we discovered they were building the wrong house! Then when the drain tile was placed we discovered they had put the sump basket in the wrong place. Both of these errors were caught by us, not them. We're hoping the rest of the build will go well, but we are very nervous about more mistakes and delays.
