Four guys showed up in a large 4door sedan. The spokesperson for the group said because there were 4 guys I would get 30 minutes of work. The spokesperson and I could not agree to terms on how his crew would work, so I ended up talking to the company owner on the phone. I ended up paying an additional $150 in order to get 60 minutes of work. The spokesperson was the only one of the four that worked the entire 60 minutes. He busted his butt working and I thought he did a good job explaining what the other three were supposed to do. Well, the threesome shoveled off the garage roof which is not heated, its where the cars are parked, so this was a waste of time. They never shoveled the family room roof behind the garage, so I ended up going up there after they left to finish the job. They stood around and watched the spokesperson work on the ice dams and only occasionally helped out. I hired these guys because I recently had a Medtronic device implanted in my spine. My days of shoveling are supposed to be over. I have lived in my home for 20 years and have shoveled off my own roof by myself. It has never taken me over two hours and I have NEVER torn a single shingle off. The spokesperson did a good job on the ice dams. The rest of the crew missed shoveling the family room roof, did a poor job of snow removal, but when they did try to get a little deeper into the snow, they tore off shingles. Of course when spring came and I could see the damage to the roof, there was no way I could prove they had caused the shingle damage. I recovered only about 1/4 of the shingles that were missing, so I am guessing they must have taken them with them.

Great service. Very satisfied. I had him look at a door that had some issues. I could tell by his answers and recommendations for the door issue, that he was taking into consideration my budget. Because I was an Angie's list customer he gave me extra keys for no charge.

Great experience. Scott and team are pros -- very responsive, respectful, and competitive. Our city inspector complemented them for the materials they used and the job they did. I am very pleased and I have recommended them to others.

They were prompt, attentive, and far exceeded my expectations. They actually cared about my house, which is not the impression I got from some of the other contractors from other companies I received bids from. I would absolutely hire them for any additional work I might need in my home down the road. Great experience!

Lakewoods Remodeling is so easy to work with. Scott was great! He did a thorough assessment of my roof and attic; let me know I didn't need to replace some things that I fully expected I would; explained the materials and process very well; and was very patient about answering all of my questions. The crew was right on time, very courteous, did a great job, and the cleanup was very good. Scott even called me months later to let me know that an energy tax credit was enacted for 2013 and was made retroactive through 2012, so I may be eligible. Just one more example of great service! I would absolutely recommend Lakewoods Remodeling and I will definitely use them again.

When we discovered the leak and started calling roofing companies, we either got no answer or were told that and quot;we don't do roof work in the winter.and quot; (?!) But when we called Lakewoods Remodeling, the woman who answered the phone said they'd have someone out the next morning. Steve Miller drove from Bloomington to White Bear Lake, showed up exactly on time, befriended our extremely skittish Australian Shepherd, identified the problem, FIXED the problem, and accepted no payment. No payment! He explained the problem in detail and discussed possible solutions with us. We will have Lakewoods back in the spring to add a gutter--as well as any other repair and remodeling work we will ever need! We really appreciated Steve's professionalism, friendliness, confidence, and competence. It shouldn't be a surprise when businesses operate this way, but unfortunately it is. What a breath of fresh air! Lakewoods Remodeling is a great resource.

Steve Miller is remarkable to work with. He communicates well, is very responsive, and is very easy to work with. My residential neighbor next door even complemented me on how Lakewoods left the work site remarkably clean. Steve's price was reasonable and competitive. He's exceptionally responsive and easy to communicate with. I recommend them unconditionally.

We found them on Angie's List. He fixed the problem that I had with no charge and he was so good. The guy was just super. He called up and came out to fix the problem and did not charge me for it. He was just very helpful, very prompt, and on time. He showed me the problem and the way how I can fix it. I offered him some money and he would not get it. He said he liked helping people. I am very happy with him. I will be using him tomorrow for gutter work. He was very professional. I have a barking dog here an and it took him to sit down and let the dog smell him and chat with the dog. He is just one of the greatest. He is a super nice guy.

They made sure they got more by bringing more people; can't remember how much but it was close to double and I have a very small house. They did extra though like cleaning the sidewalk; I found out in the spring they had chipped off a shingle and I tossed it thinking it wasn't mine. It was understandingly very noisy. They didn't really explain the process. And as I already said I feel I was ripped off. Companies do that to single females.

The roofing crew and the attic insulation were both prompt, efficient, and professional. Bill was amazing throughout the process. Both jobs coincided with the sale of our home, which added to the details that needed to be managed and the stress to us of packing etc; but Bill was always helpful, responsive, and professional. We also appreciated Sharon's help with some invoicing issues. We will definitely work with Lakewoods again if the need arises!

We had storm damage to our roof and siding from high winds in June. I contacted my insurance company and then called Scott as I had him do some work for me years past. Scott came a out and did a very detailed analysis of the replacement needs. Scott worked with my insurance adjuster through months of back and forth. He kept after them until we had the approval to proceed and got everything scheduled. The roof was replaced first, in October. We had a problem with the roof that Scott and his supplier immediately rectified in our favor. The siding came in November and took approximately one and a half weeks to install. Scott's crew did excellent work. The city inspector also mentioned the fantastic workmanship that was done. I would not hesitate to use Scott and his crew again.

Found them on angie's list. Called them and they gave us an estimate. We signed the contract and they redid part of our roof. We then used them to reroof our lake cabin and replace gutters. Did a great job.

They fit me in and I was grateful. There were so many ice dams that year. I called for an appointment and got a return call within the hour. When the crew arrived, the owner was with them and directed everything competently. He even gave my next-door neighbor a great deal to have his ice dam removed. The steam method was used, which is very safe because they don't have to use a shovel to hack away at the ice. The owner answered all of my questions and calmed my nerves--I was a little anxious as I had never had this done before. He was very knowledgeable. They needed to hook up to a water source, but they kindly removed their boots before entering my house to do so. They did a good job--no more ice dam! I would use them again.

Will see over time its only been a month.

I contacted several companies to replace our roof (due to defective shingles) based on their Angie's list ratings. Lakewoods Remodeling provided us with the most detailed information and a very competitive price estimate. Scott was very knowledgeable about the defective shingles, and he spent the time to educate us about the re-roofing process as well as the claim process. They were able to complete the job within a very tight timeframe, and finished right on schedule. The team did their homework and pulled all required permits and scheduled inspections ahead of time so they never had to wait around. Steve, the onsite project manager was very helpful as well with proving information required for processing the claim form for the defective shingles. After the job was complete, the crew did a great job of cleaning up, including all the nails. The new roof looks great! Afterwards, Scott followed up with a call to make sure that we were satisfied with the job. He stayed in contact with us from day one through the end. The final cost was exactly as estimated, not a penny over. Well done Lakewoods, we're glad we selected you to do the job!

Our experience with Lakewoods was pretty disappointing. We paid for the Angie's List offer in March 2012 with hopes the work could be done by Memorial Day. We have a lot of landscaping surrounding the house and garage that we didn't want to get damaged in prime growing season. Lakewoods was not able to meet our timeline request so we let the company know they could schedule the work after Labor Day but didn't hear from them. Then we informed them we'd be out of town for the first 2 wks of October and would be totally out of their way for that period if they could do the project then. We were reassured they could do our roof replacement then but we returned to see the roof had not yet been replaced. Finally, the project was completed the week of October 22nd although they had to be called back to complete a spot that had been left incomplete. When they returned to finish up, I informed the foreperson that there was alot of debris that was left behind that needed to be cleaned up. I showed him the 121 nails we'd picked up on the driveway. He was embarrassed and apologized and did some more clean-up. Unfortunately, we continued to find nails (in excess of another 50), pieces of shingle, plastic, metal and paper over the next month as we worked around the property. Lakewoods informed us that due to the fallen leaves, they could not get everything picked up. At the very least we wanted to drive on the driveway without fear of puncturing a tire. We negotiated for them to take $50 off our final bill to compensate for the poor clean-up. We also had a storm window that was broken during the project as well as a slashed window screen. Lakewoods picked those 2 units up to be repaired and returned them in good condition. It appears the quality of the new roof is good. I'm no expert but it passed our stringent St Louis Park inspection. Besides the delay on the project (partly due to our not wanting work done in the summer) and the poor clean-up, the communication was shoddy. There was no contract until the end (I forgot to ask about it) which seemed unprofessional. When I did speak to Lakewoods personnel, they were typically polite and customer friendly. So, in summary, the roof looks good and the staff were friendly but the delay in installation, the terrible clean-up, the damage to windows and the lack of communication leading up to the project (plus no contract) brought our satisfaction level way down.

We had shingles sliding off of our roof and no luck getting the company who originally roofed the house to come out and repair it. They didn't even return our call. They were very busy. When I saw deal with Lakewood Remodeling I called them and they came right out. They also followed up with recommendations for future repairs that we need to take care of. They were great to work with and the repairs are still holding up.

Scott was great to work with - very responsive and everything was done according to schedule. He even helped me out with the Certainteed claim. I'd definitely recommend them and would use them again.

I gathered 5 different quotes to do the roof on my house. Lakewoods Remodeling came in on the lower end, with one other company quoting me a few hundred bucks cheaper. However, the other company was not on Angie's List, so I didn't know if their customers were happy with the work or not and Lakewoods had a lot of positive reviews. Overall I was extremely pleased with this company from start to finish. Putting a new roof on my house was required by my mortgage company, and Lakewoods was able to schedule around my needs. Also, they brought out a team of 7 or so guys, and who worked from 7 am to 6 pm at night. Two workers came back the next day for a few hours to complete some touch ups, but everything was pretty much completed in one day. I didn't get a chance to watch the progress, but a few of my neighbors commented on how hard the roofers worked. I am very pleased with the end result and would recommend this company to anyone.

They were responsive and very willing to work with me to return the Big Deal. It simply did not work out and we did not use them.

I contacted Scott in the summer when I was first thinking about replacing our roof. He was one of 5 contractors that I met with ... 2 others from Angie's List, as well. From my first meeting with Scott, I knew he was a person I could trust. He is the kind of person that you would like to have as your neighbor.I was confident his crew would take the time to do it right...and deliver what they promise. Two months later, I finally made the decision to proceed, after getting kids off to college, etc... I called Scott and he was happy, of course, to work us into their busy schedule. We selected the shingle, emailed the contract and the following week, we had a beautiful new roof! It took less than 2 days from start to finish. They do the big things right...the roof, the vents, the flashing, etc... and they also do the little things right...he requires the dumpster company to put wood down so the dumpster doesn't chew up your driveway...they tarped our deck so the shingles and underlayment fell on the tarp, not our deck...they cleaned up meticulously after themselves and when I cleaned out my perennial beds for winter this weekend, I didn't even find a single nail! Scott, the owner, and Steve, a project manager, stayed in communication with me before - during - after the project...informing me of the inspection timing and more. The roofing crew was very nice and extremely hardworking! I would recommend Scott and Lakewoods Remodeling to everyone, wholeheartedly...and I am VERY picky! I own my own business and watch for the all the signs to know if I'm dealing with an honest, reputable person / business. I did my homework and met with a total of 5 reputable contractors before choosing Scott and Lakewoods Remodeling. If I had other projects, I wouldn't hesitate to choose Scott's company. Such nice people...such quality work...very fair, competitive price!
