Scott was here this morning and he was absolutely amazing. This was an excellent experience. He came out and was up on the roof and drew up the entire plan. Then came down and showed us! It was marvelous and I was blown away. He was also very knowledgeable too with not only their roofing software, but also skylights and roofing in general. Scott will be sending the plans off to our insurance company.

We chose to get a quote from them after reviewing the Angie's list feedback on a number of roofers. Overall, Scott was a pleasure to work with. He came out to estimate the job and discussed with us the pros and cons of different shingle brands/types and gutter options (covered or not, going with larger downspouts). He provided a very detailed quote, specifying the materials to be used. The price was slightly higher than a competing quote, but Lakewoods specified and used higher quality materials. Scott was prompt in responding to the follow-up questions we had. He even provided us with addresses of houses with the two different roof colors we were considering (good thing -- we changed our color choice after seeing what they looked like on a whole roof). Once we signed the contract, the work was scheduled a couple weeks out, but it ended up being delayed to the next week due to weather (we were happy to delay -- you don't want rain when you're getting your roof replaced!). During the job, both Scott and Steve were in frequent contact, coordinating the work crews, keeping us informed, and making sure that everything we discussed was being done. The crews did a great job, the final result looks great, and everything was cleaned up very well after the job was done. Scott followed up with us after everything was done to be sure we were completely satisfied. Highly recommended.

I would not recommend this company. However, the person on the phone was very kind and professional.

These guys are a rare pleasure among contractors. Scott was great to work with- all calls were answered promptly and the job was done well and on time at a fair price. I even had them out to check out another job and he indicated there was no need for the work- I like that kind of integrity. Great job guys- highly recommended!

Lakewoods was terrific; in particular "Bill" from Lakewoods is great. He stopped over to my house and personally walked me through the quote, showed me samples, answered questions and shared a few good fishing spots with me. He's a very personable and knowledgeable guy. His guys showed up when promised and did quick and professional work. Lakewoods wasn't the cheapest option, but based on returned calls, Angie's List reviews and Bill's friendly and prompt service I decided to use them. It was a great decision.

I called the company to get an estimate for a roof repair on a roof that had been installed in 2008. She heard the date of the roof install and looked up the contractor on the Minneapolis city website, gave me their name and even looked on the Better Business Bureau website to see if they were still in business. She gave me their address and encouraged me to call them to see if there was still a warranty on their work but also set up an appointment for an estimate. This is the most amazing service I've ever gotten with a first phone call!

Scott was very professional, friendly, and helpful in selecting the roof replacement. We were very pleased. The roof went up on time with no mess in the yard. The crew was professional. We went up on the roof after it was completed, found a couple of mistakes, called Scott, and he came back and fixed them right away. We've had the roof for a year now, through a couple of major storms, and have had no issues - no leaks and it continues to look great!

I called Lakewoods Remodeling for a roofing inspection and estimate after being notified by my insurance company that we'd need to get work done to remain insured. Steve came out quickly to check out our roof. He said he was surprised to hear that our insurance company was bothering us about our roof and offered to meet their inspector at our house to be sure that they were talking about the same areas, as he really wasn't seeing anything that merited concern from an insurance company. He gave me some recommendations for how to work with our insurers, and also let us know the name and color for shingles that would match our existing roof closely enough so we could do the work ourselves. He was honest and let us know that the amount we'd be charged for hiring him to do the work really wasn't worth it since we would be able to manage the repairs ourselves for a fraction of the cost. I followed his recommendations for speaking with our insurance company and we've settled on an $8 fix that we can take care of ourselves in a matter of an hour or so. The entire interaction led me to believe that Steve and Lakewoods Remodeling are top-notch, honest people. Not only did he give me solutions for how to fix the issue myself (both in terms of materials and with the insurance company), but he also offered to meet their inspector at our house, which seems like an incredibly rare thing for a company to do -- especially knowing that they aren't going to get any work out of the trip. If we ever actually do need roof work in the future, Lakewoods Remodeling will be the first place we call.

Contractor inspected the roof, found a small hole and offered to fix it on the spot. He fixed the hole by applying caulk to seal it and was done in around 30 mins. Our roof has not leaked since this repair. Their team was professional and punctual.

Due to roof lines that concentrate a lot of rain run-off in one spot, this is a problem that has been bothering us for years. Even when we had a new roof put on after a hail storm, that roofer couldn't quite fix it. Lakewoods figured out the water was coming not just from the obvious spot, but also from another roof line a few feet over. They removed some of the redwood siding and roofing, added flashing and other anti-water fixes, put new siding up, and the problem appears to be solved. There have been a number of heavy thunderstorms in the month since the work was done, and no drips. I also had them add flashing to three other points around the house where the roof focused water, at their recommendation. The estimator/project manager was Scott Rise, one of the owners, who seemed to know or understand a lot more about what might be causing the problem than others we talked to, so that's why we went with Lakewoods.

Jim was about 30 minutes late. The proposal was fine, but they were higher priced than other companies. I did not select Craftsmen to do the work.

We didn't get any written report and it didn't seem the guy from Lakewoods Remodeling was up there for very long, I didn't think he was up there for 2 hours. My husband went outside and dealt with him but I know when my husband came in it didn't seem like it was more than a few minutes like maybe an hour or 45 minutes, it wasn't two hours. We asked if we would get a written report, he said "no everything was fine." Personally, I wasn't very satisfied but I can't point to anything that he did wrong because I wasn't working with him. I did expect a written report but we didn't get that. I was kind of disappointed. I really have no basis of comparison for the price. I wouldn't use them again but again my husband dealt with them.

Instead of using steam, they started just hacking the ice off, I asked them to stop. They were really good about it and it was not a big deal. They gave me a refund and were really nice about it. They refunded half of it. They shoveled the snow into my yard. If I had known that they were not going to steam the ice off I would not have wasted their time or mine. I would not use them again.

Everything went fine while they were here. I think they were here when they said they would be. They didn't do the ice dam work themselves. I guess we would probably call them if we had other roof problems.

Great job from start to finish. Detail oriented and good follow-through. Easy to communicate with and promptly returned messages. Would use again and recommend to friends/neighbors. Also did work for several of the neighbors-all were happy with the work.

Highly Recommended : A + Lakewoods Remodeling re-roofed our split entry house and garage, and installed new seamless aluminum gutters and down spouts. Scott was great to work with and very knowledgable about his products. He spent a considerable amount of time with us discussing our project and options. He was very flexible working around our schedule. The office staff were helpful, and we experienced excellent response time to all our phone calls - Great Customer Service ! The crew were on time, and very respectful of our property's landscaping and plants. Project was completed in the time frame promised and clean-up after the project was good. Overall a great experience and we would definitely hire this contractor again for any other repairs / remodeling needs we may have in the future. Great Job

Steve was extremely helpful in working with me and with Mueller Chimney repair we got the price down to a point I was happy with and they both did marvelous work. Steve Miller also came out after a hail storm to take a look at my roof. He noted there was no damage, and while he was up there - he cleaned out my gutters, no charge! I cannot recommend Lakewoods Remodeling enough! I'm planning on having them come back for more projects.

I cannot say enough about the degree of professionalism and responsiveness provided by Lakewoods and their team of experts...............TOP NOTCH! What a refreshing change from other service providers who don't return calls. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND LAKEWOODS REMODELING and won't hesitate to call them for any future work to my home. I never got a completed bid and I went with another contractor.

Our home has two sections with low-angle roof pitches and has had difficult problems with roof leaks, ceiling insulation and attic ventilation. Steve Miller is Lakewood's expert on all things about roofing and many other aspects of construction. After discussing our above concerns, including pros and cons of different flat roof materials, he was very innovative in solving all of the problems and complications. Steve then did all the cost estimating and proposals for house and garage roofing, soffit and facia work and new and quot;leaf-freeand quot; gutters for house and garage. His proposals were very thorough, well defined and prompt. (Received overnight on email). We felt his pricing was quite reasonable. Within a short period our project began and Steve came every day to check progress and make sure the various crews were adhering to plans and standards. He also frequently assisted his roofing crew with hands-on work on the more critical matters. It was very re-assuring to have him appear daily, giving me opportunities to question things myself and observe progress. I must admit that it gets pretty hectic and concerning with all those guys bumping and climbing all over the house, but in the end the job turned out very nice and we are pleased and relieved to have a solid, better insulated and ventilated roof, nice soffit and facia and new, great looking leaf-free gutters all around! Steve is just great and I have never known or worked with a nicer, more helpful and more approachable construction person. He encouraged me to call his cellphone anytime with questions or concerns (I only called once!). The work went on schedule and the cables worked well through the rest of the winter. Lakewoods' sales representative Steve Miller communicates clearly and he is professional, friendly, and generous with advice. He took his time evaluating our ice dam situation and in fact he suggested I add insulation in a spot that would reduce the need for heating cables. I decided to get the cables anyway.

, Everything went well. Two layers of shingles were removed. There were no issues with the roof itself and they put down protective layers and re-shingled the home. City permits had been already been obtained by the contractor. There were photos taken after the shingles were removed and during the work to satisfy the city inspectors. The manager came to the site twice during the day and went over the work when it was done. The manager, Steve, noticed that a exterior vent was missing for our bathroom exhaust (never has been one there, apparently the bath fan vented into the attic space. Steve and I went into the attic and discovered the problem. His crew was done and had packed up all of their ladders and equipment, but Steve had them go back up to the roof and cut out an opening for the vent, which he supplied (I paid all of $35 for it, a great deal considering the labor involved) and it was installed without issue. We have had no issues with the roof and I recommend them without hesitation. We obtained quotes from 4 A-rated Angies list companies, and Lakewoods beat all of the other three in price by at least $1000 and the work was excellent.

They said they were lead-certified but didn't take care of it the way they said they would. There was lead dust everywhere - which is a huge safety problem for my family - which I had to have removed. When I talked to the contractor about the basement door, I know he was trying to help save me some money, but he seems to have ordered a door that was the wrong size. The installer of the door tried to tell me the door was just fine because it was going to shrink and expand in the weather...Not so sure this is true. It took almost a year to resolve this problem. They said I had to contact the manufacturer who sent a new door - that this company wouldn't install. Eventually, we refused to pay the last payment until they resolved the situation to our satisfaction. Eventually the manager got involved and the issue was resolved, the door passed city inspection, and payment was resolved in April 2012. For the most part they were pleasant to deal with - right up until there was a problem with that door, then there were all kinds of issues to resolve.

Steve came out quickly and gave me an estimate. The boards were rotting and could not support the weight. I decided to move forward with this company to fix my gutter. I sent in the deposit and received an email that they would contact me 1-2 days before they were going to do the work. Almost a month went by before they came out to fix the gutter. Now, in their defense, we had a crazy winter all through April and it was difficult to make it out. As someone who has worked in customer service for 20 years, communication is important to me and I would have at least liked a call from the company advising me of what was going on. I had to call and was advised they would be out the next Monday. Of course, we had another 6 inches of snow fall, which did melt, mostly by about Tuesday. I didn't hear from Steve at all. I figured I would give him a call to see when they planned to come out next. I believe it was Wednesday or Thursday when I was leaving to go to work, I walked outside and noticed that there was part of a hornets nest and some wood on the ground. I looked down the side of the house and noticed that they had been out and fixed the gutter. I'm no expert, but it does look like they did a great job. It was disappointing to see that the crew did not completely clean up the side of my house. There were pieces of wood, pens, and debris laying about that I had to clean up. Overall, I was disappointed with two things: the fact that there was no communication, except for the estimate and that I had to clean up some of the debris. Based on the reviews, this may be a one off and I would try them again on another smaller project before using them to replace my entire roof.
