Easy to deal with. Had to coordinate with an insulation installer and managed that very well. Only complaint is clean-up. They left a pile of boards in our driveway for a week and when they picked them up, they left the wrapping for us to throw in the trash. Otherwise, worked hard and were very responsive. We would use them again.

Very pleased with their service. I called them, early afternoon, and they were at my home within an hour or 2. He got on my roof, looked around, and looked in my attic. I'm very glad they are able to look at it. They are happy to repair it, and they will be back on Monday.

The response to my call was very prompt and Bill, the person who came out to give us the estimate was very professional and very knowledgeable. He took time to listen to my concerns and looked at all the areas of concern. We received his proposal soon after. The roofers were fast and efficient and did a great job. I was pleased with this company's work.

Good experience for an estimate, no other details to provide.
Description of Work: Came to give estimate for roof and window repair for our home after hail storm damage. Very professional, punctual and helpful for estimate but we chose another company due to overall more reviews and interaction with salesman was more thorough with company we chose. Would definitely consider this company for future work as I know they do other construction besides roof repair.

I called on Sunday 8/11/13 and left a voice mail message to request an estimate. I received a prompt callback and we made an appointment for 8/31/13. He came and looked round and promised an estimate within about 2 weeks. It's now December but he never called back with the estimate.

I dealt with Bill from beginning to end. The service was absolutely outstanding!!! I was worried about a couple of things and was able to get a hold of Bill who eased my mind, and everything turned out perfect. He was easy to contact for questions via phone or email. I have a neighbor who can be nasty about even my workers taking a few steps into there yard. The houses are on top of each other in the city. Lakewood`s roofers kept the work site all picked up and were very aware of the neighbor situation, not leaving anything on there yard. I have 2 dogs and was worried about nails. They laid a huge tarp inthe yard was clean. They ran a little late and called me to let me know. I knew the dumpster and roofing materials usually come the morning of the job or the day before. Anticipating there arrival, I made room in the driveway for the dumpster and shingle drop off so it would be obvious as to where things should go. I tried to make it convenient for the roofers so they wouldn`t have to carry the shingle packs to far, yet my vehicle could still get in. All things were dropped correctly making things go really smooth. Bill also took an extra steps to make sure that I had no ice/water problems sense my garage was heated. What was also a huge thing for me, a real person actually answers the phone when you call!!!!!!!!!! These days, that`s hard to get. Usually it`s voice mail. UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE: Thank God I had the shingles dropped off where I did bcz it was in view of the security cameras at my home. I had been outside on and off watching the roofers work. I specifically walked thru a gate passing by the corner of my garage which was in perfect condition. The gate is very small! The dumpster was placed in front of a gate that would of been more convenient and larger for them to pull there tarp of old shingles and debris thru. Instead they pulled it all the way around the garage thru that small gate and had to use a sawing motion to squeeze it thru the gate. By doing it the corner of the vinyl siding was chewed up. I reviewed my security cameras and verified it. To my surprise I noticed when I left my house for 10 minutes, I wasn't gone 2 minutes when A ROOFER STOLE A PACK OF SHINGLES and put them in there van. Then noticed as he was going up the ladder he saw the security camera and turned the camera off to the side and downward. I immediately contacted Bill to have him come over and look @ the damage and tell him about the stolen shingles. He didn't believe me and repeatedly telling him I had it on video and offered him many times to see it. He wouldn't watch it and said he thought a wood p***** did the huge damage on the corner. A camera of someone doesn't lie!!!! I found out that roofers who have friends working for different companies steal shingles from different jobs and eventually have enough of the same shingles to do a project of there own or for a friend. They did it with siding for the person who told me. She got her entire house resided for free from siding stolen little by little from diff jobs. Bill said he would come over and adjust the camera and never did. He came over and I gave him the name of the manufacturer of the siding and he said he would order it and he never did. My garage is only 10 hrs old and used to look brand new until they ruined the siding. They also stole from me!!! When I asked by them for any extra shingles they said they didn't have any. That was before reviewing the security cameras. Thanks a lot Bill!

After a hail storm, I called to have estimator come out to look at my home. The first call, I spoke to a very nice young women who said she would get the appt set up and the estimator would call me that day. I told her that there was a large dog in the fenced area so have the estimator call before he went to the home so the dog could be put inside. Early afternoon I got a phone call from someone saying he was an estimator and was going to be in that area so he could swing over and take a look. I said fine and reminded him about the large dog inside the fence. He said no problem, he didn't have to enter the fenced area to look at the roof. He said he would get back to me the next day. Heard nothing, so next day I called the office again and the young girl said she didn't have any paperwork about my home, but she thought she heard the estimator say something about a home he had looked at that didn't have any damage. I asked to be contacted by estimator to be sure it was my home. Again heard nothing so a week later I contacted them again. This time spoke to an older women who said she couldn't find anything about my appt and said the young women that I spoke to originally was newly employed and probably hadn't done the paperwork correctly. She said she would have someone contact me. Again heard from no one, so I contacted another roofing contractor who promptly went out to look at my home. Met with the insurance adjuster and will take care of the entire claim. I CONTACTED LAKEWOODS REMODELING BECAUSE OF THEIR FAVORABLE RATING ON ANGIES LIST, BUT WOULD NEVER CONTACT THEM FOR ANY KIND OF WORK IN THE FUTURE

Sean came out and did the estimate, he was awesome! Very nice, informative, and great to work with. The crew did great work, and we got all the calls/emails prior to beginning the project. We were told that things could start as early as 7am, so I was told to get my car out of the garage, and had to take care of my dogs. The truck came around 8:15 to deliver shingles, and the roofing crew wasn't there yet and had not called me. The delivery driver left, because nobody got ahold of him about where to put the shingles. At 9:30 he came back and dropped off some of the smaller supplies, but left again with my shingles after stating that he couldn't leave the supplies without speaking to the crew. The dumpster guy came at 10, and the roofing crew was still not there, and had not left instructions on where to leave the dumpster. The delivery guy came back and picked up the stuff he left before, because he had not heard from Lakewood or seen anybody from the crew. The service rep I spoke with told me that they were on their way and finishing up another job. We hit a lot of snags with timing, as the crew did not get there until after 12:30. There was a miscommunication as well about whether they were to do the house AND garage or just the house. We were NOT impressed with Steve. His customer service skills aren't really all that great, and he made several comments that were off putting, about the price we were paying, and how we 'hired them because they're the best' so we would be paying a higher premium. When I expressed a concern and my irritation about them being so late, his response was "If nobody died or got hurt, we don't have a problem". They also didn't go into a lot of detail about our permit. They taped a piece of paper to the outside of our house. Someone from the city came by to do an inspection, and permit card was not visible. We had to set up an appointment with the city to get them back out. The crew did an excellent job with cleaning up when they were finished.

Owner Scott Rise gave us an estimate on our roof in 2011 when we discovered the current roof had been done by another company with faulty shingles and looked terrible after 12 years. We determined the job didn't need to be done immediately. This year, his amended estimate was just $400 higher and included a better quality shingle than the 2011 estimate. Even with superior products, Lakewood's estimate was the best of three we received. The work was scheduled for Wednesday, October 2nd. At precisely 7:00 a.m. that day, a crew of six arrived and began the tear-off. The entire job was completed by 5:30 p.m. The crew cleaned up everything nicely. Scott even helped us put together a claim on the old shingles in hopes of getting a prorated refund. Everything went off without a hitch. After the work was done we got a phone call from Scott but he did not come out to go over the finished job with us. Nearly three weeks later, we got a bill...which included our Angie's List discount.

Got three bids for a new roof for our house and garage. The person who came out was on time and seemed to know what he was doing. Their final bid was close to the others but lost confidence in them when they didn't turn the estimate around in the promised time. Also, Lakewoods was the only company that asked to see the insurance claim before they would put together an estimate.and our insurance agent said that they should have been able to provide an estimate without seeing the claim. It took them over a month to come back with an estimate and I had to email them twice asking for an update as to when the estimate would be ready.
Description of Work: Came out and did a walk around inspection. Did not get on any of the roofs given the company's rep had a leg injury. Said he would view the roofs via the internet.

I first called Lakewoods in April when I was noticing a stain on my ceiling growing. Steve came even though there was still snow on the ground and gave me an assessment and a direction in which to proceed. He recommended the Centerpoint/Excel energy audit and I am glad I did that. Then, I called Steve back for another bid/look due to some questions on the original. He was super receptive to coming back and re-assessing the situation. He amended his plan for correcting all the issues and I ultimately took his bid over 4-5 other ones. It was the most reasonable in both money and solution efforts. I think it also helped that Steve was super easy to work with and answered all my and quot;dumb questionsand quot; without judgment or hesitation. Due to both of us scheduling things, work happened in September. I am super happy with the work but there were a couple of things that delayed it from being a 2-3 day job to a 6 day job. One of these things was some miscommunication about getting into the house. Once that was figured out, things went well. The work was very well done and now that things are painted and all finished, I am absolutely thrilled! My ceiling is gorgeous and updated and I am confident that the insulation, roof repair, and shower vent are all properly done. In my final walkthrough, I found Steve as discerning or more than I am which was reassuring as there were a couple of little corrections that we agreed upon making. I also had great interactions with Sharon at the office who was able to answer all my questions and work out some payment stuff with me. She was fun to talk to, both knowledgeable and sociable.
Description of Work: I had a damaged ceiling due to rain issues that had been here long before I bought the house. Through this process, I discovered that I also had a shower fan that was venting only into the attic, not out the house. As I worked through this process, I also asked Lakewoods to take care of insulation issues.

It was the great experience from the start to the end. I don't have any construction expertise and have to rely on the honesty of the provider. Scott and Lakewood Remodeling are the guy and the company you can trust. Scott examined our roof the next day I called to him. Because of his tight schedule, he did it after hours. He did not put any pressure on us to get a new roof honestly explaining us the roof condition and pointing out what caused the damage as well as our options. Because we had the leak in the roof, we need the work to be done asap. Scott was very helpful and understanding: it took less than a week from signing the contract to the completion. Everything was done highly professionally, everything was on schedule. Communication and responsiveness were very good. Lakewood Remodeling really cares about their customer: Scott suggested a few features to prevent the stucco wall damage. The bottom line: it is the rear case in our days when the company takes the pride in what they are doing and you can trust them.

The guys showed up around 7:30 am and got right to work. There were about 8 of them and they worked really quickly, but at the same time were doing the job correctly and were very good about not making too much of a mess. All garbage was kept on the tarps they had laid out. After getting the shingles off the house roof they had two guys on either side of the house roof, 4 total laying down the new shingles at the same time. Again they worked really quickly and the roof was looking great from start to finish. After the house was done they then started on the garage roof. Same thing on the garage, very fast and Pro the whole time. Although the garage was smaller than the house I figure it would take a bit more time because of the hole in the roof, but they had added a new piece of wood where the damage was and fixed it with no problems and before I knew it the garage roof was fixed and done too. I believe the house and garage were done in about 7 hours time, that was with clean up too! After they left I walked the yard to pick up any debris they had missed and to be honest I only had to pick up a few things. These guys did very well!! I am very happy with their work and would definitely hire them again or recommend them to someone else. My contact for the job was Steve Miller, very nice guy. He come out to give me my estimate, which by the way, this company was the lowest price out of 4 estimates. He stopped by once while work was being done to check on things and stopped by again to check on things once the work was finished. Steve made sure to ask me if I was happy and I told him, very much so!! I would say this was a great experience all around!!

The response was prompt in both cases and we scheduled a time for the inspector to come out. When the inspector arrived I explained the situation and concerns I had with some water entering the house through the ceiling. He looked over the roof very carefully and the roofing material had not been damaged by the storm. He looked closely at the roof peak and determined the water that had come in was the result of a wider than normal gap in the peak vent and when the wind was blowing horizontally it was able to come in. They did not charge me for either call and I there was no presure to take action. They did a great job and would feel very comfortable workign with them in the future.

Scott, from Lakewoods Remodeling, showed up right on time. My roof has discontinued shingles, and many are curling up. Scott checked the roof out, and said, at this time, we did not need a new roof. He said the curling looks bad, but is attached. The shingles company had a class action lawsuit, that has been settled. Scott gave me information on how to proceed with the class action settlement. I really appreciate his honesty in saying I didn't need a new roof. No new roof means no business for him. The first company I had out said I did need a new roof. I am going to re call the first company and have them send out another individual to recheck. The reason is, I also had a 3rd company check the roof, and they as well, said I didn't need a new roof. All three of these companies have and quot;Aand quot; ratings on Angie's List. Was the first company just looking for business, or was it just a less experienced individual? We will see.

I cannot say enough good things about this company. From start to finish it was a great experience. They are very price competitive, as well as do high quality work. I am a pretty picky homeowner and at the end of the job when I requested a few small things be fixed/changed, even though they were OK as is, Steve made an extra trip out and tidied that stuff up at no cost. Steve also made some recomendadtions about small things throughout the job and took care of some bad workmanship by the roofers that were in there before we owned the home, all within the budget of the orginal contract. It's nice to see a company take pride in the work they do, and deliver a finished product, even if it requires fixing a couple of issues that were outside the scope of the project.

They did excellent work and Steve Miller, the coordinator, was very responsive. Whenever we called him with a concern he got back to us right away with a favorable solution. The work was done an an old house (pre-1900) that was in very poor condition. Given the glowing reviews here, I had expected excellent results from Lakewood. Price: Similar to the other 3 quotes I received, but it tipped to Lakewoods because they said they could also do some wood siding replacement on other parts of the house. Other quotes I received specified 6 nails per shingle, vs Lakewood's 4, for about the same total price on the roof. Lakewoods was more expensive than others for the gutters. Punctuality and responsiveness: Steve arrived early to the estimate meeting and seemed knowledgeable. The original estimate included only roof and gutters. Because Steve had stated they would do wood replacement for the areas that needed it around the roof (soffit/ fascia), I then asked him also to provide an estimate to replace the areas with rotted or broken wood siding around the rest of the house. There were a lot of bad areas of siding. I wanted an estimate up front, instead of working on a time and materials basis, to make sure I budgeted appropriately. The work began about 3 weeks after the contract was signed. The first item completed was the roof replacement. It began on exact date specified and took the exact amount of time we were told. However, for the rest of the work, I either was given a vague time frame (such as “this week or early next week”) or only told that it would be scheduled. Crews would show up without any additional notice. It took a full month (which included 4th of July holiday) for them to do all of the work, with a lot of down time where nothing was happening scattered throughout that month. There was a different crew for the gutters, and the roofing crew returned to install the gutter guards. Quality: It is a 2 story house, so I can only see the roof and gutters from the ground. They look nice from the ground. Someone inside the house overheard two of the gutter crew talking as they were leaving, and one of them said, and quot;Just because you saw it, doesn't mean they’ll see it.and quot; Now, they could have been talking about anything, as that was the only snippet that was heard, but still.... you can't help but wonder. We later noticed a section of gutter was attached to a piece of wood that was sticking out several inches from the house, and someone else sent by Lakewoods fixed it. Was this what they were talking about? Who knows! The wood siding replacement -- that is another story, and it is why I have rated this company so low. Even though dollar-wise it was the smallest part of the project, it was the most visible in terms of the quality of work that was done and also caused the most headaches. The first round of siding replacement was done by the roofing crew. I hope they are good roofers, because they were not good at siding. The work that was done was really bad, with no attention to basics like cutting boards to the correct size, having consistent reveal on adjacent boards, and lining up nails from board to board. These are basic skills you would expect someone to have if they are doing wood siding work. They removed a doorbell and didn’t replace it. They removed a lamp and replaced it in a different location such that it was leaning and couldn’t be set upright. These are just some examples, not a complete list. It was really, really poor quality work. Astonishingly bad, really. Lakewoods sent people back 3 more times to work on the siding -- 2nd time sent a couple of carpenters, 3rd time sent same roofing guys that did such a poor job the first time, 4th time was Steve. Each time the work was incomplete (such as old siding removed but not replaced, or sections they said they would fix were not fixed) or the work that was done was poor quality. After the 4th time, some of the things we had pointed out and that they had agreed they would do were still not done. Honestly, at that point, it was all too clear that their priority was being done with the job, not doing it right. I will hire someone else to fix the rest. Although I had specifically asked for an estimate on the siding to avoid surprises, I nevertheless was charged extra for siding on the final bill. Considering we had walked around the house with the person doing the siding work on the first day to make sure we were in agreement on the scope, and considering that at least some, if not all, of that extra siding surely was due to their poor quality work, this was very surprising. They did not charge me additional labor the three additional times they returned to work on the siding. Thanks? I received estimates from 4 companies for roof and gutters before hiring Lakewoods. One of the companies told me they could do everything except the wood replacement needed on the soffit/fascia, as they did not have anyone with enough skill to do it currently working for them. That should have been Lakewoods response, too, in my opinion.
Description of Work: Replaced roof, installed new gutters and gutter guards, replaced multiple areas of wood siding on an old (pre-1900) house that was in very poor condition.

Scott is very professional, and we will do business with him in the future. We would recommend Lakewoods Remodeling without hesitation.
Description of Work: Scott Rise inspected our roof in response to the hail storm on 8/6/2013. He advised that there definitely was hail, but all appeared cosmetic, with no real damage. This was in contrast to the roofer that came to our door at dinner time, went up on the roof and advised that the entire roof needed to be replaced.
