Talked to rep at beginning of week, he said could probably have someone install Wed or Friday of that week. (Thanksgiving week, by the way) Got a call Friday AM at about 10AM, installer was about 30 min away and could come install the opener. Nik worked for about 1 hour to remove old opener, install new unit, wall button, and outside keypad. Used existing low-voltage wiring from the old opener when able. New Liftmaster 3850 unit, battery backup for power outages, nearly silent DC motor on this unit. Adjusted door so it closes perfectly evenly (I've tried for 5 years to do this myself, unsuccessfully). Installed new part that I had on hand (pulley) for free, discarded old motor unit. Also lubricated door and track so door is nearly silent. All was done for a little under the estimated price. Would recommend their services to everyone and will use again in the future if ever needed. The wholesale price for dealers of this unit is about $200 so we felt we got a great price overall. A different company estimated over $100 more for this job with same lift motor.
