Sam and his team (Marty, Eric and Ron) are wonderful to work with. They're always pleasant and dependable, hard working and skilled. They make remodeling as pleasant as it can be.
They never rush our decisions, always wanting us to be completely happy with our remodel outcome.
Sam has an excellent sense of design and color, and has been immeasurably helpful in our design decisions. He has seen possibilities that have eluded me, making suggestions that have not necessarily been huge changes, however, have been essential to a wonderful outcome.
The Kinetic team also uses a number of skilled sub-contractors (Jason-Cabinetry, John-Plumbing, Nick-Electrical, & Imran-Wood Flooring) that are equally a joy to work with.
We have been extremely happy with everything Kinetic has done for us. It's why we continue to call on them.

Initially we engaged handyman service to deal with a rotted threshold under the side entrance door to our house. On discussing options, we decided to replace the outside door and frame (old, ill-fitting and in need of repair) as well as the threshold, which is at ground level and in a damp area next to sidewalk.
We are very happy with the result; two fellows did a fine job of removing old door, digging out old threshold and pouring new footing, and installing the threshold, frame and a solid steel door. They also re-installed outside screen door which did not need to be replaced. Everything looks fine and works as it is supposed to.
The cost of the new door, lockset and threshold repair was higher than we expected, but seems fair enough.
My error was in not requesting a written estimate of the cost up front, but getting a rough estimate of "a couple hundred dollars."
We would happily use Kinetic Construction for future projects. The people were very easy to work with and they did a professional job.

I would have given an A had there not been about a half inch seam between 2 pieces of the dry wall. Was told that was normal but I am being told that it isn't from others I've talked to. They did a great job on the door and were very easy to work with and always called me back. Considering the price and scope of work, I feel they did a good job.

I try not to get too defensive in my responses but they do form a somewhat permanent record for others to use when making important decisions, so I feel obligated to set the record straight. The work we do at Kinetic is how we earn a living and that seems like an appropriate reason to care about what people are saying about us. Gaps in drywall installation are an inevitability for a number of different reasons. In many cases the gaps are much larger than 1/2 of an inch. In your case the drywall not being finished is the problem. Modern code would require finishing of drywall on walls between the garage and livable space. In your case there was water damage that necessitated replacing a few sheets of drywall in an unfinished space. I sent my partners to your house with the understanding that they would be finishing the drywall. Since none of it was finished previously, they determined that it would be a better use of the six hours of time you purchased through the big deal to replace your failing. All in all your received prompt and courteous service from my guys. The gap in the drywall spacing is something I would have appreciated a call on if it was truly a concern for you. One guy for five minutes with setting mud and drywall tape and it would no longer be an issue...but your critique of our ability to install drywall will live on. Anyway, if there are any further issues please feel free to call me anytime and ask any questions you may have."

It looks great. Both guys came out and did the work in a prompt and efficient manner. The only problem was it took so long to get them eventually out to do the job, but I wasn't in a hurry anyway so I didn't push much. But they were responsive when I initiated the contact.

Project went well. Sam made contact after purchase of “deal” and with a couple of scheduling calls came to our house on the above date. He and his associate assisted me in completing the replacement of a very old and heavy laundry tub with a clean and light new tub as well as guiding my installation of new shut off valves.

Soon after I purchased the "Big Deal" I spoke with Sam, the owner of the company. He stopped over to actually see the area I wanted worked on, then advised me on the kind of tile I should consider and places I could shop and cite his company for the contractor's discount. I selected, bought and picked up the tile. Sam and another man were over laying tile one day and returned to grout the next day. I had removed all the old tile and grout and had the area surrounding the fireplace cleared of all furniture and floor covering so they did not have to spend time on that kind of thing. Nonetheless, they worked clean and neatly. It was a very small project but it mattered a lot to me to have this finished and done well.

He arrived on time, was friendly and very helpful. Some of the repairs I had were silly little things but I live alone and have no one to do that kind of thing. He willingly did everything I asked of him without an eye roll or a sarcastic remark. He did a beautiful and efficient job of hanging my heavy things and took the time to do all the other repair things correctly. HOWEVER, I FEEL THAT ANGIE'S LIST MISREPRESENTED HIM. They advertised him as a handyman($199 for 6 hrs of handyman work) and he truly is a contractor. He had a helper with him who was no help doing all my little dinky things BUT had he been doing a construction project, the 2nd person WOULD have been very helpful. I thought about it for a while and realized I didn't really feel like I got my 6 hours worth and called him and told him and he was VERY willing to make it up to me. As I said, he was looking for construction/remodeling work, which is why he had the helper with him. I would hire him again in a minute. He is looking to make people happy and construction/remodeling is what he and his partner love to do. He was SO willing to make things right and never made me feel like I was bothering him. A+

I purchased a "Big Deal" from Kinetic Construction for 6 hours of service. I was impressed right away with how quickly Sam responded, and that all three of my "wish list" tasks could be completed with the purchased deal. He made a follow-up call to schedule and confirm.
I was even more delighted with the professionalism and quality of work completed by Marty and Alex. Marty has an eye for detail and all tasks were completed neatly and thoroughly. Marty went above and beyond by offering to help patch a closet wall and identifying a few tweaks that could be made to improve existing fixtures.
Great communication, great customer service and quality work. Kinetic Construction will be at the top of my list for future remodeling projects!

The process went very well. We were happy with the Kinetic team and their subs - very professional and respectful, and the work was high quality. They are also good people, and very fun to work with.
A few highlights:
- We are thrilled with the new windows and the installation. We had previously had a huge picture window in the back of the house. It was bowing, sagging and potentially dangerous. The Kinetic team boosted the header, added new supporting mulls, and replaced it with four new windows. The effect is gorgeous and they did it with no damage to the covering in our ceiling.
- We love the new step and portico, it is an amazing look for the front of the house. The design and materials are great - we can't believe it is our house!
- The deck railing for the upper back deck made a previously dangerous area of the house into something both aesthetically pleasing and safe. "Mom" is happy because it is safe, and we like to walk down the street behind the house so that we can admire how pretty it looks.
- They were flexible with our additions to the job and other things we had going on.
- As with any construction project, we had minor bumps in the process, but felt that these were managed very well by the Kinetic team.
Would highly recommend them, and we would definitely plan to hire Kinetic again for future projects.

We were lucky to be assigned Kinetic Construction through our participation in the DIY Network Show "I Hate My Bath." Sam Devine and Alex Bodnar did a great job managing both the steep expectations of the show and production schedule, as well as our needs as homeowners.
The Kinetic crew did an excellent job - staff and subs were polite, prompt and did excellent work. Sam and Alex worked long hours to make sure that each stage of construction was complete and ready for the production days of the show, performing above and beyond standard construction schedules, with lots of extra projects to complete.
As a homeowner on the show, you have a basic idea of the design plan, but a lot of the materials and specific plans are kept as surprises. Sam and Alex were great at talking through some of the steps and decisions along the way, and helped us make decisions on upgrades and selections that would enhance the final product (spray foam insulation, lighting, etc.) They helped us worry less about the project even though they couldn't reveal all of the specifics.
Ultimately, we ended up with a gorgeous bathroom, that will not only look great on TV, but that will be great for our family to use for years to come. We enjoyed working with them so much we hired them for another remodel after the show completed.

Kinetic made the entire process easy and very user friendly. Sam spent the time to really understand everything we wanted and help us figure out how to get the most of it out of our budget. He also helped us with many of the design decisions that I felt pretty lost about, and we love the way everything came out. I felt they found a very good balance of asking our input, but also being able to make decisions and move things forward while we were too busy or not interested enough to do it ourselves. I was also very impressed with their professionalism. While some issues did arise during the construction process that increased the budget and time-frame, they were limited and handled well. We were always told about issues promptly and felt that Sam worked hard to minimize the effect of them. Also, while the construction was going on, Kinetic always made sure that it was clean when we, or our real estate broker, visited (which I particularly appreciated given my asthma). They kept the outside of the house neat for our neighbors. His employees were all polite and even pretty well kept for your average construction workers! Overall, Kinetic was exactly what we were looking for, a contractor who produced high quality work, did so on time, and was always on our side and looking out for our interests. I would, and have, recommend them for really any project you have.

We have used Sam and crew for many years as our go to providers for home redesign. Sam is a craftsman who is creative and innovative in his approach. He will take longer than other options but the result is well worth it.
