JOHNSON HARDWOOD FLOORS

I've worked with Randy a few times now, and he is always meticulous. I'd never have anyone else work on my floors! Renters did extensive damage to my kitchen floor, which Randy had restored years ago. He assessed the damage in detail, and suggested a less invasive form of refinishing, which was quicker and did not require additional sanding. He also did a bunch of additional woodwork while he was here: he repaired several pieces of wood trim, removed stains from a my wooden breakfast bar, and removed paint stains from the floor. Everything turned out great.

Perfect. If you want someone who knows floors and the options for refinishing them , plus giving you a real schedule and sticking to it, doing a great job, and with extremely little dust, this is you guy. Randy was excellent in every way. He explained our options, told us what to expect in terms of results and future care,and time schedule. Then he delivered exactly what he promised and on time. The floors look wonderful and some of them were worn.

Randy did an amazing job on my hardwood floors. He was so knowledgeable and was able to do an exact match with the original hardwood floors in my house. He created a seamless transition from old to new - the kitchen and addition now look like they were always there. Randy worked so hard and was so meticulous. He often stayed late to get everything done. Everything looks amazing and he gave me great information about how to care for my floors. I would recommend him to anyone!

Randy refinished the hardwood floors in my Bloomington home including three rooms that had not been re-finished in 50 years..stained and in bad shape. The final result is even and beautiful finish.  We were very happy with the service and with the price.

Randy was very informative as to what needed to be done. Explained everything he was going to do in detail. Job was done beautifully. You can't tell that there was a repair. Highly recommend him.

Randy is a perfectionist and it shows.  He was meticulous in sanding, sealing and applying the final coats.  His process is almost dust free, so you don't have to worry about cleaning up after the work is finished.  He is very knowledgeable about options for finishing wood floors and even prepared samples so we knew what we were getting.  He left us with good information on maintaining our new finish.  I would definitely hire him again.

Randy did an excellent job.  He has a high attention to detail and that is perfect for work like this.  He used the right tools and completed the work in two days (Fri, Sat).  We did the finishing ourselves since the basement had no exit point and working top-down is best.  He was punctual and showed up at 9am both days.

This was our second time using Randy, the first time being to do our living room and dining room back when we bought our house in 2013. Obviously, we were very happy with his work the first time around since we called him back to finish the rest of our first floor a year later. Given that both his prices and his flexibility/schedule were infinitely better than everywhere else we looked, we were so pleased to find that the quality of his work is just as fantastic. Would call him again if we had any more hardwood floors to refinish!

Randy is a true professional in every sense of the word. He spent a fair amount of time with my wife and me discussing different refinishing options. He was timely and professional with the estimates that he gave us and also throughout the whole duration of the project. He continued to give us good suggestions after had started the project.
Randy is very detailed oriented and it was obvious that he takes a lot of pride in the work that he does. I would highly recommend Randy to anyone that is interested in refinishing their floors.

He was really flexible, which is really nice, and he did a great job.

I wish all my contractors were as easy to work with as Randy. Above all, he is meticulous: my floors turned out better than I had hoped, including salvaged original (1920's) maple in the kitchen that was reclaimed from under the linoleum, which he mixed with some new maple (he treated the new somehow so that the grains match really well). The upstairs was a mixture of maple and birch, and there were also a few spots where walls had moved so he needed to patch those, as well. He even plugged a couple holes in the corner behind the radiator, where the pipes had been moved. He warned me that the old carpet staples in the stairs had stained the wood, so we picked a slightly darker shade for the treads -- but then he went even further, and punched every staple on every tread, in order to reduce the staining even further. He also purchased and installed new treads, and threshholds at every point where the floor level changes (including one where he did some very detailed work to make the doorframe follow the curve of the threshhold).
Beyond the high quality of his work, Randy always replies promptly, takes care to explain details (what he is planning, how to care for floors, etc.), and on this project, and he rearranged his schedule several times so that the really smelly work could happen when I was traveling out of town.

Arrived on time and very professional workmanship. Because of the amount of flooring, he had to break up the job into two separate projects. He was very accurate in amount of time needed and considerate in planning how to get around the work area.

Extremely well. My wife and I are very pleased with the result. Randy diligently worked for 8-10 hours per weekday for 9 days. He was on time, professional, and thorough, even refinishing years-worn handrails to match new look.

Mr. Johnson was very professional, and very prompt. His estimate was in line with the two other estimates I received. I ultimately decided use a different service provider, but I would have felt comfortable using Mr. Johnson, and will certainly contact him again if I have further hardwood floor work to be done.

The floor is beautiful! Randy is a craftsman who adheres to the highest standards of quality in his profession. He has an awe-inspiring knowledge of wood and its properties and his understanding of the available wood-finishing products, from both aesthetic and environmental perspectives, is equally impressive. He uses practically dust-free sanding equipment that does not involve hoses and large vacuums that use significent amounts of power (and strain electrical systems). He is also more than willing to answer questions and to share wood-finishing information/suggestions. We feel very fortunate to have "found" Randy for this project and highly recommend him.

Randy returned calls promptly and showed up right when he said he would. He does great work. It was evident right away that he has pride in his work and would make sure it was done right.

Randy was on time and right on schedule. Did the work in less time than estimated. Was neat and clean and cleaned up after the job was done. We will have him return to refinish the entire house of wood flooring at a later date.

Randy was always on time, worked hard with only a lunch break, worked very carefully. His work is excellent, A+. I would have no one else do my floors. Will recommend him to all my friends who need floor refinishing. They look fantastic!

I was very pleased with the whole experience. Randy explained the whole process very well and there were no surprises except he decided there didn't need to be stain (only the seal coat) and the bill went down from his estimate. I felt very comfortable leaving Randy with a key to our house. There was very little dust which I was a terrific surprise. He uses a good vacuum system at the same time he sands. I would highly recommend Randy. I will use him again for my next flooring project. The price was lower than other estimates and the floor is fabulous.
