We visited Home Valu three or four times over several months - first to get ideas and estimates for a bathroom remodel project, and then to order product(s) when we had made a decision. I ordered a shower kit and intended to order mosaic tile. It was difficult to get assistance at the times we were there (weekends). When we did find an associate to work with in tile and bath, she really didn't know the products very well. I ended up ordering tile from another store. I did reasearch online and had to tell her exactly what to order for the shower kit. The product cost a few hundred dollars more than the original estimate, but that may have been due to the manufacturer. However, timely assistance from the Home Valu associate would have allowed us to order more quickly and we would have avoided the manufacturer's price change. The product took a week longer to arrive than estimated. When I called to check on my order status, no one was able to assist me. When I left messages for the associate I worked with, the messages were not returned - I had to catch her at her desk. The only conversation not initiated by me was the call letting me know my order finally arraived. In the end, the order was completed to my satisfaction, but I will not be using Home Valu for the rest of the remodel.

They were excellent, and I had good success with them. They were prompt and they cleaned up after themselves each evening. They had excellent subcontractors too. If you needed something, they went out of the way to get that for you. They set up a work schedule, adhered to it, and finished the work. Their price was competitive.

They were very prompt and worked efficiently around my schedule. I appreciated the flexibility. They did a good job and cleaned up after they were finished and made sure no debris was left behind. They do charge for estimates, which I found to be odd.

It started well with Jim Wolf, the salesman, helping me and filling me in on the qualities of the pattern I'd chosen. His knowledge of the various lines helped me make the final decision. They were able to fit me in quickly for an estimate. This person (I don't know his name) was also knowledgeable and recognized in detail the things I'd need and what would be involved. For example, the refrigerator might be too large to move past the bar unless the doors were off, so I'd probably need to empty it. I can't say enough good about Lynn Seger, the installer. He went the extra mile with the dishwasher. The quarter round was not in stock in the right color the day of installation, so Lynn cheerfully came back to finish when it came in and didn't pressure me to go with another color just to get it done. In fact he encouraged me to do what I really wanted and not settle. From start to finish Home Value people were a pleasure to work with.

They are good at denying services. There were sections of the wood flooring that appeared water-damaged prior to installation. I was told that "that's just the grain of the wood." Strange, I didn't know that wood can have a regular grain pattern and simultaneous greenish areas with sharply circumscribed borders! Service personnel came out to our home to inspect the floor and shrugged off any concerns we had, not inclined to explain if/why we were unreasonable. They disregarded my complaint that the light-colored putty used to fill dark knot holes makes the floor look strange, despite comments from numerous guests visiting our home.

Designer, Ricke Ann Drake was great to work with. She listened to my budget and space needs. Ricki Ann was very attentive to the details of the kitchen and I thought she communicated very well. She always answered my calls in a timely manner. The workmanship was very good. The workmen cleaned up their workspace everyday. The construction supervisor Jim Shurmier was also very responsive and stayed in contact with me and my husband throughout the job. We probably will use Home Value Inc. again when we remodel our bathroom.

A POOR, POOR EXPERIENCE. THE PEOPLE WE WORKED WITH TO TAKE OUR ORDERS WERE EXTREMELY UNRESPONSIVE, GOT THE PRICING FOULED UP, AND HAD COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PRODUCTS ON THE ORDER CONFIRMATION. WE HAD TO ESCALATE THIS TO A BOSCHWITZ, WITHIN THE FIRM, TO GET IT RESOLVED. ONCE THAT HAPPENED THINGS FELL INTO PLACE, BUT IT WAS A VERY DIFFICULT, UNNECESSARY SITUATION.

I WAS VERY MUCH SATISFIED WITH THE WORK. THERE WAS A SEAM IN THE GRANITE ON THE COUNTERTOP, AND HE SAID IT WAS THE BEST ONE HE EVER DID. YOU COULD NOT EVEN SEE IT UNLESS YOU LOOKED FOR IT.

SERVICE WAS VERY GOOD. PRICING WAS FAIR FOR THE QUALITY OF THE CABINETS. RETURNED A PART THAT DIDN'T WORK. DELIVERED CABINET TO MY HOUSE WHEN THEY HAD ORIGINALLY THOUGHT IT WAS IN STOCK.

SUB-CONTRACTED WORKMANSHIP WAS FINE IN GENERAL. SOME ESTIMATES FOR WORK WERE VERY HIGH IN LABOR COSTS, LEADING US TO CANCEL PARTS OF PROJECT. SCHEDULING WORK WAS AT TIMES DIFFICULT, AND BILLING AND PAYMENT PROCEDURES WERE CONFUSING. A LATE BILLING WAS RECEIVED 7 MONTHS AFTER AN ACCOUNT UPDATE SESSION & 4 MONTHS AFTER BEING ASSURED THAT FINAL PAYMENT HAD BEEN MADE, & ACCOUNT BALANCE WAS $0. MUCH TIME WAS SPENT TRYING TO UNDERSTAND & RESOLVE THE LATE BILLING--A $425 CREDIT WAS RECEIVED FOR WORK NOT DONE, BUT OTHER CLAIMS WERE DENIED WITHOUT ADEQUATE JUSTIFICATION. COMPANY BILLING & PAYMENT SYSTEM IS TERRIBLE, & CUSTOMER UN-FREINDLY. THE COMPANY SHOWED NO INTEREST IN COMPENSATING THE CUSTOMER FOR COMPANY ERRORS & MISMANAGEMENT OF ACCOUNT. COMPLAINTS SUBMITTED TO BBB & STATE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE. BUYER BEWARE!
