It was a rough start. Made a few mistakes dealing with Home Depot
and their sub-contractor. A couple of miscommunications but it all
came out right in the end.
We had several bids and the Home Depot one worked the best with
a sale that was going on and opening a Home Depot charge account.
We also received two years without interest on the account.
With that it was cheaper than Costco with more selection and a better
fit for finding what we wanted so close to home. The contractor has
a few communication issues between what we were told and what actually
happened. Not sure if it was Home Depot trying to control the process or
what exactly. We ended up without the use of the kitchen for two nights
not just one. If they had warned us of the cement order I could have sealed
off the house from the kitchen and gotten rid of the smell a lot sooner.
My wife and I had discussed this project for a couple of years, but now that
it is done she wishes she had done it sooner. She absolutely loves the new
counter tops and sink. Other than the smell, the crew did a very good job
and the plumber disconnected the plumbing before and re-connected it
after the installation with only a couple of hiccups with the gas line for the
stove. Quality of service was excellent with everything going to their plan,
just wasn't the plan they told me about.
