Great. HL will be my 1st stop the next time i'm looking for lumber. They are very friendly and helped me find what I needed.
Description of Work: I repainted my house this fall and i needed to replace one piece of ceder siding on the side my house. I was not able to find the correct size and type of board i needed at a major home improvement store. I only needed one 8 foot board so I was a little surprised at how hard it was to find what i needed. Then i wised up and looked for a real lumber yard and found Hiawatha Lumber. They had exactly what i needed and offered some much needed advice to the weekend DIY-er that I am.

WENT TO THE YARD TO PURCHASE PLYWOOD & HAVE IT CUT TO SPECIFIC SIZE TO FIT A SHELF (2'X2'). I WAS TOLD THAT THE SMALLEST BOARD THEY HAD WOULD BE A 4'X8' AND I WOULD BE CHARGED $2/CUT (ALTHOUGH A POSTED SIGN SAID $.75). I AGREED. WHEN I WENT BACK TO HAVE MY BOARD CUT, THE GUY PROMPTLY PULLED OUT A 2'X8' AND CUT IT TO MY SIZE. THEN HE HANDED MY CUT PIECE ONLY. HE DID NOT INTEND TO GIVE ME THE REST OF THE BOARD I PURCHASED UNTIL I SPECIFICALLY ASKED (EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A 2'X8' AND NOT EVEN THE 4'X8' I PURCHASED). THIS IS PRETTY TYPICAL OF MY EXPERIENCES WITH THIS COMPANY. I WOULD NOT USE THEM FOR LARGER JOBS.
