 + -1 moreWe didn't hire Cheri because another contractor was able to get closer to our budget but Cheri was really great and it was really hard to decide between her and the selected company. She really knows her stuff and her estimate was very thorough. If you are looking for a knowledgeable contractor that is very detail oriented, call Cheri!
Description of Work: Estimate to demo the top floor of our house and rebuild per architect specs with addition of a bathroom.

 + -1 moreI HAD 3 BIDS ON THIS PROJECT. THIS WAS BOTH A COMPETITIVE BID, AND I FELT COMFORTABLE THAT CHERI BEST UNDERSTOOD MY VISION FOR WHAT I WANTED DONE. THE TOTAL PAINTING BID WAS $20,500 AND THE RESTORATION WORK WAS ON A TIME AND MATERIALS BASIS. WE HAD CONTRACTED OUT THE COLORS TO ANOTHER ARTIST, AND PROVIDED CHERI AND HER CREW WITH A DETAILED PAINT-BY-NUMBER DIAGRAM. THE TOTAL WORK TOOK NEARLY TWO YEARS (IT'S A BIG HOUSE!), BUT IT WAS WORTH IT. IT LOOKS SPECTACULAR. CHERI RESANDED AND REPAINTED PARTS THAT WE WEREN'T HAPPY WITH. THE ROOFING CONTRACTOR WAS AMAZED THAT THE CREW WAS REPAINTING THE DENTAL WORK WITH TINY DETAIL BRUSHES. CHERI WAS VERY RESPONSIVE IN RETURNING PHONE CALLS, BUT NOT AS GOOD AT ESTIMATING HOW LONG SOMETHING WOULD TAKE, OR WHEN HER CREW WOULD BE FINISHED WITH ANOTHER JOB. A LITTLE FRUSTRATING AT TIMES, BUT THE RESULT WAS WORTH THE WAIT. WE GET A LOT OF COMPLIMENTS ON THE FINISHED JOB FROM NEIGHBORS WALKING BY.
Description of Work: 3 STORY 1892 VICTORIAN EXTERIOR STRIPPED, SANDED, RESTORED, PRIMED AND METICULOUSLY PAINTED IN 7 COLORS. THERE WAS A FAIR AMOUNT OF EXTERIOR ROT REQUIRING REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT OF PORTIONS OF THE SIDING. IN ADDITION, A BAY WINDOW WAS COLLAPSING DUE TO POOR DESIGN - IT WAS OPENED, STEEL BRACKETS WERE CUSTOM MADE AND ANCHORED TO THE STUDS AND IT WAS RAISED BACK UP ALLOWING THE ORIGINAL FACADE TO BE REPLACED. SPINDLES ON THE FRONT PORCH WERE HEAT-STRIPPED AND HAND SANDED BEFORE PRIMING AND PAINTING. GOLD LEAF WAS APPLIED TO THE TOPS OF THE COLUMNS ON THE FRONT PORCH.
