GROOM CONSTRUCTION INC

First of all, this work has been going on since 2006. After one of their people had done the estimates, they dropped off the map. After several phone calls, I learned that person had quit. There was no communication. When I tried to get reimbursement from my insurance department they said "no" because the deadline had passed, which was a direct result of Groom Construction not keeping the schedule. They had to come back again to get new estimates. There were a lot of things that needed to be replaced. Second, this company didn't seem like they could coordinate these projects. For example, Project 1 was interfering with project 2. The foreman of the job was very unpredictable, and at one point was screaming at me. I finally had to call the accountant to have him stop calling me. They were supposed to replace the carpet in a very small bedroom. They had me get in touch with a carpet vendor that they recommended. I didn't like the carpet that they had brought, and the carpet vendor said we could go to the showroom. On two separate occasions, carpet vendors said they could not do the work for Groom Construction because they do not pay their bills. They finally finished what they said they were going to do and since then have been calling me every day for payment. I haven't received payment yet from my insurance company because I have so many receipts from all the different vendor and there is a lot of confusion. I would never in a million years use this company again. I really felt like I was taken for a ride and they were very condescending to me. This has not been my experience with any other contractor.
