WE HAVE USED JOHN FOR SEVERAL YEARS. HE STARTED OFF DOING GREAT WORK AT REASONABLE RATES $45.00 PER HOUR. ON THIS LAST JOB HE BROUGHT A CREW OF 5 AND WANTED $55 PER HOUR PER MAN! I WAS OK AT THE BEGINNING, THEN SAW THESE GUYS STANDING AROUND, TAKING BREAKS, SMOKING, ETC ONLY 30 MINUTES AFTER ARRIVING. I COMPLAINED TO JOHN AND SAID I WAS NOT GOING TO PAY PEOPLE TO BE STANDING AROUND. JOHN SENT ME AN INVOICE AFTER THE WORK WAS COMPLETED AND SAID HE DEDUCTED 14.5 HOURS OFF MY BILL. HOWEVER, HE WENT ON TO CHARGE IN EXCESS OF DOUBLE THE RETAIL PRICES FOR PARTS. FOR EXAMPLE ON ONE PART, A 1'' VACUUM BREAKER HE TRIED TO CHARGE ME $195 WHEN YOU CAN BUY THE EXACT SAME PART AT HOME DEPOT FOR $69.00. I SENT HIM A CHECK WITH A LETTER FOR WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A FAIR PRICE FOR THE WORK. HE CASHED THE CHECK AND I'VE NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN. BUYER BEWARE. GET A FIRM QUOTE UP FRONT AND ASK TO HAVE YOUR OLD PARTS BACK.
