Golden Leaf Tree Service

The city of BC hired Reed and Golden Leaf to cut down 2 Eastern Cottonwood trees that bordered our property back yard. This was done under the auspice of the city Forrester, Sam, who appears to be a DEI hire! I caught him in a couple of lies: One was concerning the now abandoned little league ball field to the North; the other involved the Shingle Creek Watershed group. Sam claimed the watershed prevented the removal of the cut down trees/slash! I contacted them, and learned that they couldn't have cared less about how the hack job was handled! Golden Leaf tore up the peat turf to our North; they used dilapidated plywood under their truck, and they nor the city intend to restore the destruction! The city took the lowest bid available, which shows. I never saw Sam supervise the job as it was in process, and he hasn't been here in the weeks since the damage occurred! I suspect Golden Leaf and BC city are ashamed of the result as much as I am. I would never hire Golden Leaf. I know of a great tree company called Expert Tree Service, Hammond WI. They are actual arborists. And they do excellent work, and repair any damage they caused. Expert is responsibly priced, but are not HACKS. I wouldn't have paid Golden Leaf more than $5000 for the destruction they left. BC is not the same city it was in 2002 under Ole, the real Forrester.

It was great! They came when they said they were going to come, and did exactly what we expected them to do. They came back to do tree trimming since we're happy for the service that the owner did. They also did a good job in cleaning after themselves, and providing minimal damages on the surrounding area.

Believe it or not, I have not met Reed & his team in person- I contacted Reed through Angie's list, Then Reed visited our wild boxelder tree that had taken over the backyard and was soon about to cause damage to the roof of our garage. He left me a detailed paper estimate and then he called me on the phone to recap and give me available dates & times- We picked a date....I was at work during the removal , but when I came home the tree was gone and the yard looked perfect, not a branch in site. I had texted Reed that morning and asked that his team take extra caution near our freshly painted home & garage, Golden Leaf did such a nice job and Reed called me when all of the work was complete that afternoon. Thank you Angie's list for helping us find this great local resource. We would call Golden Leaf again for my next tree removal need, and we would recommend to neighbors and friends.

Reed's crew not only removed the tree on the garage roof, no charge, they also trimmed up some trees along the driveway in order to get their equipment in. As if that wasn't enough, they also removed all the limbs and cleaned up the debris, which speaks to the professionalism and high standards of Golden Leaf Tree Service. Folks, there's a lot of shady trade characters out there. Consider yourself lucky if you know who to call when you've got trouble. Put Golden Leaf Tree Service on your list.

The guys did an amazing job and left the yard in better shape than I anticipated AND their bid was half the other bids.

Can I just say amazing!? I'm the type of person who likes to watch it all fall to the ground. The guys that showed up to my house were professional and knowledgeable.

Steve Sands is very professional and does a wonderful job.  He is very prompt and plows every time there is 3 inches of snow or thereabouts.  I have asked him to plow my driveway whenever there is a snowfall of any measureable amount.  Steve has plowed my driveway for the past 20+ years and I am lucky to have him helping me spare my back.
He bills me at the end of each month for snow removal which occurred during the past month.  He keeps accurate records and I trust him implicitly.  He is a great guy.
He also trimmed all of my trees years ago and is very knowledgeable about all trees and what is needed to keep them healthy. I have had very good luck with all of my trees due to Steve's expertise.  
He is very busy with the tree trimming business and is called upon by many Twin Cities municipalities to help with downed trees and storm damaged trees in the spring, summer and fall.

Golden Leaf removed a dying Pine Tree from our property. They offered a reasonable price and were very responsive to setup time for the quote and removal. They were doing a lot of work up north from the summer storms, but were great about getting me on the schedule. I had Golden Leaf trim some branches the year before and they were also competitively priced and did great work with that as well. Highly recommend.

The crew arrived on time and spent the better part of the day working in my back and front yard. They did an excellent job and cleaned up the back yard and alley. I would highly recommend them. They did a lot of work for the price.

Crew did not arrive at 9 AM as arranged. I called them and they said they were on the way. Turns out they had some
equipment issues.  They did arrive, but would have appreciated a courtesy call.
Other than THAT,  they were fantastic.  The large pine was removed.  The stump was ground up and they raked over the area.
THIS is the service to use if you are removing a large tree.
The crew definitely had the mentality that they aim to please.  Did a fine job of trimming the other trees and made sure I was satisfied with their work which I was.
And they did a super job of cleaning up the area.
I will definitely use them again next year.  Recommended them to my neighbor, as well.

We were very happy with the service provided by Golden Leaf Tree Service.  I didn't intend to give them an F rating.  My internet froze during my review and I thought my second review was saved.  I give them an A rating and would recommend them.

I have been using Golden Leaf for years.   They adhere to the idea of "ask and you shall recieve"!!!  That is the ultimate in customer service. 
Last year as part of my landscaping project that included taking out a tree......which was performed by another tree trimmer.   What a mess they left behind.  
My latest job goes back to Golden Leaf and it is hard to tell that a large job was performed. in my yard.   THANKS REID and company

We bought the coupon on Angie's List.  Reed contacted us very promptly to have the work done.  The crew came when he said they would and worked very hard to do the job in a day.  They were very professional and yet friendly, and did a great job. They cleaned up everything and didn't leave even a twig behind!  We would definitely hire them again and would also highly recommend them.

He was friendly and arrived on time. He was also very efficient and he was very careful when working so close to my home. He worked quickly and his clean-up was thorough.

They are straightforward and the work came in as less than the estimated cost. Their estimate was lower than others to begin with and they did good work. I also like that they were able to take care of the stump instead having to take care of that separately.

Owner Steve Sands and crew did an outstanding job. He has much experience and it showed in the job. Cleanup was excellent. Would highly recommend this company for any tree work!

I have used Golden Leaf many times.  I trust Steve to keep my trees shapely and wonderful looking.  He removed three large mangley red twig dogwood bushes from my backyard.  I forgot he was coming and when I got home nothing triggered he had been there until I noticed I could see my neighbors garden again.  Not a twig or leaf was left behind in the yard or driveway.  He trimmed off some large branches from trees along my driveway which is hard to get to with his trucks, but he did it and left no debris behind.  In the front yard two silver maples were trimmed of new growth and overhanging branches in the street were cut back.  The trees look beautiful.  You may have to wait awhile to get Steve's services because he is so busy, but it is worth the wait.
