Generally very good. Not inexpensive but I trust their work and they communicate about any issues found after each maintenance session. Scheduiing times and getting estimates for repair work is a bit more spotty in terms of responsiveness, but they do a good job once initiated. They should offer the option of automatic annual / bi-annual maintenance rather than having to re-confirm each year.

Excellent, professional, personable service from initial quote to installation completion. Phil was so responsive during quote & discussion phase, George & David were excellent during installation phase as well as follow up. A very pleasant experience all around!

Garlock-French is highly professional, responsible, reliable and friendly. We have now used them for 34 years at our present home and for 10 years at our home before that, both homes with clay tile roofs. They know what they're doing, are on time and efficient, and do an excellent job. I have complete trust and confidence in their judgment and performance and recommend them without hesitation.

Moved into a new house and used them to clean the gutters because the previous owners had used them for years. They charged us an INSANE amount. We wouldn’t have used them again anyways because of the cost, but since then we have had a contractor out who said our downspouts are completely stuffed and now someone out doing our ice dams who said the gutters on the top are also totally full of debris. Terrible all around.

This was a complicated job. Garlock-French was worked with us to get the right color and pattern on the shingles. They did the job in spring at our request. They were careful around our plants and landscaping. Garlock noticed some rot when they removed shingles and then replaced the wood. The foreman was helpful in guiding the workers. The came back to the house three times to clean up and run a magnet for nails. The previous winter, we had water leaking into our living room, so we were happy to get a new roof. The color and pattern match the house well. We used Garlock-French for our previous roof on this house. As a customer, they will fix the roof and do snow removal in winter.

Only fair remark I left was because they seem to have lost my info, so a week after I initially called there was no call from them to schedule an appt. Once I called them back a tech called within two days to schedule time to look at the roof. Then again after that I didn't hear anything from them so I called again. They said once they were getting close to coming out they would have called. It's fine and all, seeing that I don't need to be there for the repair, but at least they should have let me know that's how they operate instead of me wondering if I've been forgotten again.

I don?t have a whole lot of knowledge for the price rating. I?m not sure and nobody else even wanted to do the work, so these were the only guys I could get to do it.

Very disappointed in this project. The chimney work and additional brick work were well done. The roof replacement had issues. Workers did not tarp off plant and shrub areas. It was a windy day and they allowed tar paper and the wrapping from the shingle packs to blow around the neighborhood. One worker came to my door wanting to check the fireplace for water-he was unable to communicate that someone had dropped a water bottle down it and I had no idea what the issue was. I had to call 3 days later because the dumpster was still in my driveway. There were several loose nails left on the roof. The area around the electric mast did not look right and it took 6 weeks to finally fix. On one visit I asked the worker to let me know when he was done so I could take a look at it and 15 minutes later he was gone with no more communication. I informed the company that I had a crack in the entire length of my living room ceiling. A couple days ago I looked up at the kitchen ceiling and there is also a crack in that ceiling. Checked the other rooms and there is also a crack the entire length of a bedroom ceiling. I believe the ceiling cracks are a result of the shingle packs being thrown down on the roof. Now I am the one left having to pay to have ceilings repaired on top of the roof job. The president of the company did meet with me and I felt he listened to my concerns and hope for some changes in their processes.

They responded quickly to our inquiry, were able to schedule an appointment in a very short time, and were efficient and professional in doing the work. We didn't have time to get any other bids, but the price felt reasonable for the quality of work.

My husband and I bought the house last May and had an incredibly hard time finding a company that has a good reputation AND works with cedar shakes roof. (Just to clarify: there are a good number very reputable roof companies out there, but many of them do NOT work with cedar shakes)
Garlock-French was recommended by a roof company that I called and has good reviews on Angie's List, so I called. Bryan came out to take a look at the roof and provided a free quote in June. When I emailed to tell him that I would not pursue the project until October, his reply was prompt, very professional, and honest with his opinion. So when fall rolled around, I called Bryan to schedule the project. All communications were professional and clear. When I asked what if the actual cost turns out to be higher than the estimate, we reached the agreement that any increase in cost more than $200 will be discussed with me first. Bryan was also very honest throughout the process, telling me that the roof was really in good shape, other than the small area around the chimney needing some work. In other words, he didn't try to sell me any extra or anything expensive!
On the day of the project, I don't recall they arrived later than scheduled, and they started working right away. My husband and I are satisfied with the quality of the work. The billing process was hassle free as well. If you have cedar shakes roof to take care of, I'd recommend Garlock-French.

A very responsive corporation! I called and explained the problem; GF sent the representative to assess the situation. After receiving the estimate and comparing it with others, a contract was signed and the start time was arranged. The workers were efficient and very receptive to my suggestions regarding rotting wood and cracked tiles. Because this building has an expansive tile roof, I have often had difficulty finding companies to work on it. However, Garlock-French has responded positively on all our requests.

Garlock-French Roofing Co fixed my tile roof. They are a very high-end roofer. They are very professional in quoting for work. Everything they did was a top-notch job. The Company does churches and steeples. Some very high architectural work. When they worked on my roof they had to put up scaffolding because you can't just walk on the roof because of all the tiles. So they have to do a lot of extra special things. My neighbor asked them to check out his roof and they arranged a quote and went right over and did it. We paid a percentage down and the remainder on completion. Then they said if we paid by check they would give us a bit of a discount. Pricing was a little on the higher end, but the work was good. Also, no one else will do it because of the difficulty of a high roof. They are highly skilled workers for what they do. The guy who came did it all by himself, and it took two days, but then he had to build the scaffolding, check what needed doing, do the work, and take the scaffolding down again. He was very professional and really knew what he was doing.

I arranged a visit from a salesperson, who arrived on time and was cordial and helpful. He took a look at the roof and saw and photographed the vent cap. He told me they had a minimum charge and that they would have me spending about $240 for an hour of work. I wasn't sure that fixing one roof vent would take a full hour, but knew one other vent probably also was leaking, so agreed to have work done by the company. I told the salesman that I would usually be working at home on Wednesday, so that would be a convenient day for scheduling. What happened is they sent someone a week later when I had a schedule change and was not at home. He did call my cell but I was in a meeting at the time and did not answer. He went ahead and did the work on the one roof vent. Then an hour later called and I picked up...was quite surprised that he was at my house doing the work because no one from the office had contacted me in advance to schedule. The worker said the office had called him and sent him to my address that afternoon and that he had assumed I was at home. I asked him to look at the other vent, and it took a few minutes for him to find it. Then he called and left a message to let me know he was done with the second vent. As I expected, the bill came in the mail and indicated that an hour and fifteen minutes of work was done (including the travel time). I paid it in full, as it seemed fair to assume that the repairs took a full hour. It was cold and drizzly that day, and I appreciated the worker being diligent in calling me several times while he was at my house. However I am very disappointed in the salesperson and the office, since they had not contacted me about the timing of the work in advance. Otherwise, I am satisfied with the work that was done. The cost was a little higher than expected, as I would have directed the worker to the second vent right away had I been at home when he came to do the work.

We used Garlock-French 16 years ago to tear down an old roof and install a new one ? we were happy with the results and found them responsive when it needed to be checked after a major storm a few years ago. This summer we had an unprecedented hail storm with pellets the size of golf balls and a few the size of baseballs. Garlock-French came out, suggested we contact our insurance agent, which we did. The insurance company determined the roof needed to be replaced. In addition to Garlock-French,we did get another bid and proposal, a 3rd contractor recommended by our insurance company never sent us a bid.
Garlock-French?s salesman, Matt Karel, helped us in negotiating with the insurance company and always suggested using good materials, a storm shield better than the 30 lb. felts we had previously, longer lasting shingles, ridge cap shingles, etc. The other bid we got was less but included lighter, lesser materials than what was on the roof being replaced eg. 15 lb felts and a 25 year roof instead of the existing 30 lb felts and 30 year shingles.
We finally came to a compromise agreement with our insurance company, and Garlock-French was hired to take down the old roof and install a new one. Once again, we were pleased with their process. The operations manager, Karl Charipar, really keeps an eye on things and sees they are done properly. When I had questions Karl got back to me promptly and actually came out himself to put an extra coat of white paint on a siding shingle that was replaced when the roof was installed. We consider them a very good firm, not the cheapest, but a good value, and they deliver what they promise. There were no surprises, they did the roof in a timely, thorough fashion, and cleaned up very well each day. Our new roof is great.
