Feyereisen Construction Inc

Feyereisen Construction was recommended by my neighbor. He has been doing some fantastic work on my neighbor's house. We have it all timed out and with any of these guys the first order of business is that I expect them to pull all the permits and keep it legal and that no one smokes around here. When his brother showed up to do the work he said that they expected me to pull the permits. I said you are coming here to start this job right now and you are telling me to go pull the permits to cover your work. I said no. He said that I was the general contractor and it was my job to pull the permits. I asked who said I was the general contractor and he said Dave did. I go no. I told him 2 things no smoking and you pull the permits, you keep me legal. He packed up and left me in a lurch. They never came back. I called Dave and said I don't pull permits. I ended up talking to his wife and she said he was in Wyoming and he would be gone till Monday and I would have to talk to him then. I told her that I don't pull permits. I have talked to other contractors and to a contractor they have said I bet he can't pull permits, because he doesn't have a license. He gave me a verbal quote and that he would show up with a written one. Which he did on the Monday and it showed everything we talked about, but he took it with him. Up until the permit issue he was easy to talk to and easy to work with. As I told him that I needed this then and that I expected him to work with the insulation guys too he didn't seem to have a problem with that. Up until the brother showed up I would say he was easy to work with. The permit issue sunk everything down and he never has talked to me again.
