This was the second inspection we had performed by Clay. The first saved us from a bad purchase and 10's of thousands of dollars. Clay is knowledgeable, takes the time to explain his findings and provides suggestions. I HIGHLY recommend Dream House for your inspection needs.

Clay was on time, personable and a stand up guy. He was very thorough in his inspection and took great care in explaining things to me. As a first time home buyer, I felt very comfortable after knowing the home was in good shape. We spent about 4 hours in total in the home and when I left, I had a CD on hand with the entire report, pictures and tip sheets on how to do things like winterize the home, adjust the grading, etc.. My Realtor and I had the listing agent on the phone not a half an hour later and negotiated our inspection contingencies.

When I arrived he walked me through every part of the house and discussed what he found, how much it would cost to repair and whether he thought it was worth it. He was able to provide estimates on repairs. He was happy to stay and discuss everything as long as we wanted and said he would be able to answer any questions we had after we moved in because he had the pictures and the report. He then gave me the disc with the pictures and report and then emailed me the report. He left the radon test in the home and then emailed me when the result came back two days later. The radon test is an extra $175 but totally worth it. Radon can cause cancer and it can be expensive to ventilate the basement. Have the test done if it comes back with Radon negotiate the cost of ventilation with the sellers.

Clay was easy to reach by phone and very flexible with regard to scheduling a time to meet. He had availability to meet me for the inspection the next day if I needed. He arrived and did the inspection on time and waited for me to meet with him right after the inspection to debrief about the results he found.

Clay's inspection was meticulously done with incredible attention to every detail. He pointed out all the small issues that were easy fixes for a new homeowner, but he also pointed out several large issues that would have been major capital expenditures for us had we decided to buy the home. The fact that he met me at the home and was able to physically point the issues out to me and explain at the same time made an incredible difference in his level of service as an inspector given my past experiences. I would say that Clay went above and beyond anything I'd ever experienced before. He carefully covered each issue big and small, and was open to answering any questions we had about them. He said we or our real estate agent could call him with any follow up clarifications or questions should they come up afterwards.

Going through the inspection with him not only gave me extensive and detailed information about the home we were thinking of buying, but in retrospect having an inspector like Clay on my contact list gives me piece of mind. His superior attention to detail, professionalism, and honesty about his findings sets him apart from the competition in my opinion and I would definitely recommend him to others and use him again should the need arise.

They did a great job. I was very pleased with the end result. They came out and priced my home. They handled themselves very well.

Clay Thompson was excellent! He answered our many questions thoroughly and was always fair with his answers. We are closing on our house next week and are very nervous about the quality of work. He helped put our worries at ease and gave us good advice about fixing the potential problems in our house. He gave us a list of issues to discuss with our builder and ways to approach them to get our issues resolved. Overall, our experience with Mr. Thompson was wonderful and took a load off our shoulders.
