Window Treatment Service
The Drapery Place was the subcontractor Home Depot hired to full my Hunter Douglas window coverings order placed in December 2017. The original installers were friendly, but sloppy: they accidentally drilled several holes in my new patio door frame for an inside mount when the product was made for an outside mount (damage is still not repaired). Of the 21 items purchased, 4 had to be sent back for repair/replacement (not due to Draperly Place error), I had to call back a month later to check in the status of the repairs. Round two of the install: whoever prepped the order in Bloomington sent the installers out with 3 of the 4 items, but included a product from another customers order. In the meantime, one of the shades originally installed turned out to be malfunctioning so in addition to still being down 1 shade, I had to send back another item. Once again, I had to call to follow up on the status of my order in April. I was told the items were ready but that the installers only worked Tuesdays and Thursdays - despite the inconvenience, I agreed to be home a couple of weeks later (the earliest of the restricted days I could manage). I was assured I would be the first stop of the day between 7-8am. By 8am, I no one had arrived so I left for work and called the Drapery Place (which mysteriously is never answered by a person - only a series of voicemail messages) and requested that since I had to leave, could the installers just leave the products on my porch so I could put them up myself and be done with this. My call was returned about 6 hours later with a vague message about how they could stop in later that day, or the following morning “whatever was easiest for me.” By this point, I’ve had it. I returned their phone call and had to leave another message asking for the 2nd time if they could just drop off the items. No one has called me back - that was over a week ago. For the money spent and their access to resources, I expect more from Home Depot! From a customer service standpoint, this has to be one of the most painful experiences I’ve ever had. Waiting 6 months for a few window treatments is unacceptable!

Two of the lines in the blinds for our picture window had broken.  We were concerned that they would need to be replaced since we had heard repair was often cost prohibitive.  The blinds are 84" long and are a challenge to transport.  I reviewed authorized retailers on the Hunter Douglas website, and Drapery Place was one of the closest retailers that serviced blinds as well.  Their hours are also longer than many of the other retailers.
I called and got a quote, and it was better than many of the other retailers as well.  I removed the blinds and brought them in the next day (Tuesday).  They told me that they would try to have them done by the end of the week.  I was concerned that we wouldn't have them back before the Christmas holiday.  They called Wednesday evening that they were already complete.
All 4 strings had been replaced, the price was great, and the timing was amazing!  Service was great.  They saw me coming in and held the door for me when I had the blinds, and they did the same when I left.  I highly recommend Drapery Place for repairs, and they will be my first call when we get new window treatments.

I was really happy with Drapery Place.  We had been shopping around and had received other estimates for window treatments, but Bill from Drapery Place really listened to our needs and worked with us for on getting exactly what we needed at a good price.   He took alot of time explaining the options available and had great suggestions for us as well. His estimate was much lower than the other estimate we had received.  I would not hesitate to recommend The Drapery Place if you are looking for window treatments!

Went very poorly, though the final product looks good. I was very impressed with the price and glad to find a place that allowed me to bring in my own fabric but I think you get what you paid for. I originally brought in a photo of my window with measurement. It is an egress with only an inch of space between the window and ceiling so I had specific concerns about hanging methods and length. I picked up the drapes only to discover one was longer than the other. Fortunately the short one appeared to be the right length. I called and brought them back and was told it would be only 2-3 days to fix it. I waited. I called a week later. I was told the person who said that was just subbing and didn't know. I asked for another date and was told they were doing a big job and didn't know when it would be done. It took many phone calls and many weeks before I got the drapes back. Then they lost (or used) the extra yard of fabric they suggested I by in case I want pillows later. I asked for reimbursement but only got it after continually requesting it. Then I got the drapes and rod home again only to discover that the rod length they recommended was too long. Went back again and they exchanged for the right size. Saw the new rod in full packaging and now think the first rod, which was not packed, was passed off to me. Finally got the drapes hung and discovered they did not correctly calculate the length. They are just slightly too long to hang correctly without dragging on the carpet when opened and closed. I cannot adjust where the rod hangs because of the low ceiling. We had discussed all this when I first went it but it was still wrong. I will now have to pay someone else to shorten them - I have had it with them. I think they did not care about a small job, which is a pity because I have much larger windows I will eventually want drapes made for but I'm not going back.

They hung hunter-douglas window treatments. They did a decent job but in all but our front grand window. We have three windows and instead of covering two windows with one blind and one with the other, they hung two blinds with the "seam" in the middle of the middle window. We don't like how they decided to do this without consulting us. We feel like people can see into our home. They did a fine job with the actual hanging system and were professional, however.

We lost many of the draperies to this company. It took 3 months because no one would ever respond to calls the owner was away most of the 3 months. The worker was unskilled, leaving large holes in the home when they were installing the drapes. The draperies were put up incorrectly when we finally got them, the owner at the end of 3 months had to come and repair the holes and rehang many of the draperies.

We will never do business with this company again, and will tell everyone we know who are in the market for window treatments to avoid The Drapery Place. The experience--which isn't over yet!--is tiring, frustrating and unbelievable. Phone calls are not returned, empty promises are made, installation dates set and then missed--it's unbelievable. After two months we're still waiting for everything to be installed as promised. Never again will we use The Drapery Place.

THE SALESWOMAN, BONNIE WEST, WAS BOTH KNOWLEDGABLE AND HELPFUL AS WE DECIDED ON A FABRIC AND DESIGN. THE INSTALLATION WAS COMPLETED PROFESSIONALLY AND ON TIME. HOWEVER, THE QUALITY OF THE SHADES IS EXTREMELY POOR. THEY USED VERY CHEAP HARDWARE, WHICH JUST DOESN'T WORK. I HAVE TALKED TO BOTH THE SALESWOMAN AND THE OWNER AND HAVE BEEN REPEATEDLY PROMISED THAT SOMEONE WOULD CALL ME ABOUT FIXING THE PROBLEMS. AFTER FIVE MONTHS, THEY STILL HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING.
