I did not have a good experience with Daryl. I was going away on a trip over Thanksgiving, and I was worried about not being able to shovel my walk while I was away. A friend had had good experience using Daryl as a handyman, so I called him and asked him to come shovel my walk if there were more than an inch or two of snow. When I returned the person who picked me up at the airport, who lives ten blocks from me, told me that there had only been one light snow and that he hadn't seen the need to shovel. I called Daryl and left him a message thanking him for being available, and if he had come over once, to send me a bill. I received three messages in reply from Daryl, all with an angry tone, the third telling me he had been to my house three times when I was away. I looked online and found that there had been one snowfall of 1.1 inches while I was away and another of .5 inch. When we spoke, Daryl insisted he came three times and shoveled and/or salted. I had no reason to doubt that he came, and I agreed to pay him for two visits. I won't call him again. I can't comment on his work: it rained the day before I returned, and there was no way to tell of shoveling or salting. He might do good work, but he didn't follow directions well.

He is very ready to tell me what he can do well and what he doesn't feel competent in doing. He researches new techniques. He is very pet friendly. I have recommended him to other people. One has a child and she feels that they are safe around him. He cares about his clients.
